The “Ghosts Of The Mountains” Are Safe! The First-Ever Robust Camera-Trap Survey Just Confirmed That The Snow Leopard Population Has Stabilized At Nearly 400 Individuals
This Historic Decision Prioritizes The Well-Being Of Animals And The Protection Of Nature Over Tradition
Animals and nature weren't the main reason for the ban, that was safety and order: Each December, police/ambulances/firefighters are constantly getting attacked by people throwing fireworks at them, people are setting cars on fire with fireworks, and hundreds of people each year end up in the ER because of firework accidents. And those problems also cost society lots and lots of money. Some other reasons were the problems fireworks cause for animals, nature, people with lung diseases and people with PTSD. By the way, it's not a total ban, firework shows are still allowed with a permit.
This is infinitely more sensible. We have to have a permit in Australia anyway.
Load More Replies...In Japan citizens can buy some pretty cool, powerful fireworks. Much more powerful than what you can buy in most US states. My Japanese friends: "Why are fireworks illegal but guns aren't?"
Fireworks are unnecessary and passé anyway. We have drones now

That is what majority of the states in the US do, in the continental US, except for Texas, which has a completely separate power grid not connected to any other(and that has caused problems in massive storms which cause power outages).
Same here in Europe, it's a very big shared system. Can cause problems too though - In 2006 there were blackouts in several countries because one single line had to be turned off to let a ship safely pass beneath it

The UK Confirmed A Massive Green Energy Record! Wind Power Generated 23.8 Gigawatts Of Electricity, Covering Nearly 50% Of The Entire Nation’s Demand
He's in the pocket of Big Oil, same as W was
Load More Replies...Atleast in Sweden, when the wind is blowing the price for electricity per kWh is lower, and sometimes almost zero. We still have a transfer fee etc.
Load More Replies...Even though parts might be blocked from sale to other countries: The one big advantage of solar and wind power is it cannot be claimed by one nation or individual and blocked for use. Uranium, coal, gad and oil can be hoarded and transports be blocked or hindered. But nobody can steal the sun or the wind. This is why people like Trunp hate it, they cannot control it. Water power is in between, it is pissible to block access to hydropower, but very difficult.
In Spain this year, we have produced more than 60GW with wind energy. We also added more than 64GW in solar energy. Trump loves it.
Reliable sources say 30 GW wind, nearly 40 GW solar (installed capacity, not necessarily the power generated at any moment). Admittedly, Spain is a leader in Europe, but I feel TWh per year would be a more realistic measure (for any country).
Load More Replies...Well, now the traitor trump will declare war on the United Kingdom.
Germany has 188GW in wind and solar combined, over 70GW in wind alone
Tracy Lyons: wind and solar power stop the costs getting ridiculously expensive. Meanwhile, the price of electricity as a fraction of annual earnings is much lower now than when I was young, many decades ago - and lighting is incredibly efficient. Electricity now is more affordable than in the past. The big affordability problem here in the UK is the stupidly high cost of housing.

The biggest factor is the political will to make the changes to whatever renewable resources are available. The US has enough sunny and windy areas to cover our needs, but most of the prevailing winds have come from the mouths of carbon fuel lobbyists and their pet politicians.

Humans Are Trichromats (We See Red, Blue, Green). But Deer And Boars? They Are Dichromats. They Can’t Process Orange Or Red Light
Sorry, but no. We have three color channels, red, blue and green. Birds and some insects have four, which allows them to see UV. Some flowers which appear white to us have markings visible in UV light, which birds and those insects can see.
Our eyes can sense red, green, and blue but the colour channels going to our brain are red/green, yellow/blue, and "light" (the monochrome that we see in the dark when the colours don't work).
