Part of the problem though, is that if you are the parent of a sick 2 year old and you call up their pediatricians office what often happens is that after spending an ugodly amount of time on hold you will be told , " Well, the only appointment we have available 6 weeks from next Tuesday at 7:04 AM. If you think your child needs to be seen sooner you need to take them to the ER." At least that has been my experience navigating the hellscape that is American healthcare with small children. I recently switched my whole family to a new small doctors office that recently opened and has better availability, but until then I had my choice of two large "healthcare organizations" that were both equally bad.

Hey Pandas, Any Tips For Starting High School?

How painful or scary this might be, it's only temporary. You're not there to impress others, or to be the most popular guy/girl. You're there for yourself, to learn, acquire basic knowledge. Don't play the rebel just to show off. Be yourself. You don't need to have a huge group of friends, but 2 or 3 who you get along well with and trust. Also, develop a group of friends outside school (sport team, scouts,...) Don't start a fight (physical or verbal), but if you're dragged into one, win it. So, be prepared to defend yourself. Read books and train. You'll make silly mistakes, but it's fine. Everybody does.

I'm 6'2", 300 lbs and work in a very masculine profession. I love crochet, origami and baking. I've never gotten any static about it from anyone at all. Usually people are more excited to talk about hobbies or see what I've done than they are judgemental or even surprised. I think a lot of the judgement is all in some folk's heads.

It bugs me that so many men can't just have female friends. One of my best friends is female. She is married, I have no interest in her romantically. She talks with me about her pregnancy, vents to me about issues she hss with her husband, etc. My male friends always act like I'm trying to hook up with her or she is trying to hook up with me. Nope. She is genuinely just a friend.

Hey Pandas, Can You Share A Weird Or Random Talent You Have?

I am an empath (I can read other people’s emotions with a bit of effort) despite having mild Autism and have used this to prevent a few people from taking their own life. I can also “listen” to entire pieces of classical music in my head in fully orchestrated form with out actually having any music playing, conversely, when actually listening to music I can isolate specific instruments and either tune them out or tune all other instruments out, I used to play Violin/Recorder at school and could just keep to my own part even when in a full orchestra by only listening to the other violins/recorders.

I have an Asian neighbour like this. I'm in my 50s I care for my mum full time who is 81. He did all our front yard weeding. I insisted on paying him, he said no way God pays him in blessings every day. I put the bins out last night and he was walking by we said our Helios. Went to put them back in and he had already done so for me today.

they should make code words for this toppings other than cheese = hes not home ,while cheese = hes home. coke = he is dangerous, fanta = theres more than one, water = hes not dangerous. then the police should arrive with a pizza box open and instead of pizza its a gun and like rip-off the pizza uniform

Maybe they represent her grandchildren that she can't get to see. Maybe she's lonely and trying to give you an "in". I am a teacher and a mom of young kids. Not my monkeys, not my circus. Especially with the aunt right there! If the kid isn't allowed, they will get in trouble by the parent. If a parents asks me specifically, "Don't let Bob sneak into the kitchen," then I'll give a warning and tell the parent when they get out of the bathroom. On top of everything, what kid over the age of 7, without a medical condition, isn't allowed in their own kitchen? Makes me wonder what kind of abuse she has normalized...

My mom's a retired teacher and she has been a guest in multiple people's homes and she doesn't start telling their children what to do. She understands that that is not her place. This woman had no right to go into OPs house and tell OPs son what to do. It is especially odd that she followed him into the kitchen. If she is a teacher, she doesn't need to be one because she obviously doesn't know how to behave in normal situations. The boy was going into HIS kitchen in HIS house. He didn't need permission from her or anyone else. Was OPs tone harsh? Maybe, but she was defending her child from an overstepping stranger in his own home.

If burning liquid splatters on you it is Class B (Liquids) (or possibly Class F). If you miss entirely it is Class C (Gases). If it melts the brass thing it is Class D (Metals). Part-time food service worker here. My go-to personally is to raise my hand when they are walking in my general direction. If you have good memory and remember their name, that might also be a good bet. I'd say imho raising your hand honestly is the best option.

As a current food service worker, I'm tired of seeing the mess that people leave. I used to work in a college dining hall, and visitor days were the worst. We'd have people literally leave their finished plates/drinks on the table-despite the exit clearly being marked with a Dish Return sign.
