In my family, we only go for fine dining on milestone birthdays, and if there are people who can't make it, that's fine. We know that not everyone can afford it. Last year, we had 2 milestone birthdays (75 and 70), and we went to steakhouses both times. There were people who had to decline, and that's okay.
