What, to you, is the absolute WORST part of having a chronic illness? Is it not being believed? Being written off due to age? Something else?

The fact that it is "chronic" and you will NEVER be free of it!!! Then, of course, the usual.....no one believes you are ill, others think you are exaggerating, no physical signs of illness, so, of course you are faking it, and having to explain over and over again, what your illness is! A very depressing existence! :(

Living with it every day and knowing it will be with me until the day I die. Being stoic, brave, and putting on a happy face, changes nothing. Having to “gird my loins” daily and pretend I can handle it. The worst is that the disease brings its “friends” (depression, anxiety, etc) along with them. I am constantly on the alert for suicidal thoughts so I can nip those in the bud. But it is the fatigue of knowing I cannot change the outcome, and how powerless I am.
