Yeah, I lived in Texas and when visitors would come to San Antonio I always told them to go through Walgreen and the IMAX theater to see the Alamo and they thought I was kidding!

Storytime: In Estes Park, CO there is a great dog park, metal fencing maybe 5 feet high containing both small and large dog areas. We bring our Lab to the park and all of the dogs are in the little area, big and small. We didn't think much of it until we saw this HUGE elk just eating off a tree in the big dog park. It had to have jumped the fence but the weird thing is that NOT ONE of the dogs barked at it or even approached the fence separating us from it. It was like they understood to leave it be.

I disagree with this idea of 'I gave it away so I have no control'. I have given to people that I thought clearly were in need but then they turned out to be a fraud. Here's one that happened to me: a 'friend' called to ask for money to pay rent for their sister - I was struggling and had to take a pay advance to send it. Finds out she wanted spending money for McDonald's and it was all a lie. So I do disagree - money lent comes with a contract of what it was supposed to be spent for - just like a bank.

I don’t even understand people who wanna drag their kids everywhere, and especially to events where they not only won’t have a good time but will likely be miserable. I memember going to a couple weddings as a kid; my sister and I sat with other kids but didn’t interact with ‘em because we didn’t know ‘em and/or weren’t in the same age group. We barely saw our folks at either event because they were drinking, eating, dancing, and socializing. I remember counting Jordan almonds at one event to kil time. There’s nothing for kids to do at weddings, especially if there aren’t other kids there with whom to interact. I don’t think this is actually about bringing the kids, but rather an opportunity for OP to antagonize her sister and make her sorry she doesn’t want kids here. (I also suspect her kids aren’t welcome at a LOTTA places.) (Even if I’m wrong, there are likely others with awful kids who’ll whine and moan at all the “exceptions.”)
