As a fat woman I disagree Daria. You are missing the point. So you are saying that people should be nice to her because she may lose weight and become thin someday. Not the point!!!! No one has the right to rude and make someone feel less than just because they don't fit the mold of beauty societvhas set forth.

Daria is my sister and you have to believe me - she does know what is like to be body shamed! Because of her non conventional appearance, she suffered from lots of bad people at our school, even one teacher! Our parents and I went to the school's principal to defend our loved Daria, but the principal was an a*s too. My sister has been told she's ugly and never will find love - and then she did find love, she got married, has a good job - and she is a big inspiration to me! 'Cause i used to be calld the nice one, and I had lots of boys and fans and now I'm 30 and got nothing. But when I think of my little sister how she maked it trough when it seemd the whole world was against her, I gain hope! I look up to her and keep "fight". With "You're not fat" he could have meant that she is simply not fat for him. There are many girls with more weight out there and maybe, in his eyes, she isn't fat yet. Just another possibility.

Dzoana, ugly can actually be just as much your fault as anything else, you see ugly is not just what you see on the outside of a person, but what is inside them. Your comment kind of proves that point. A person may be pleasing to the eye, but what is inside them, their personality, can be extremely ugly, and there is only one person to blame for that, and it is usually not their parent.

Working out is great. Being healthy is great. Shall shame every person in a fast food restaurant? Shall I make comments to every smoking person? Should I call names people who drink? No. First of all, it is none of your/my business. We are not to judge people around. Second, it helps no one, and is only the expression of your frustration and hatred. And last - you have no idea what is behind her weight. There are fat people with bad personalities. Yep. There is one of my best friends, who gets shamed regularly for her weight. She pays triple as much attention to what she eats than me. She works out all the time. She visits the doctors for years, to figure out what caused her being overweight (she wasn't before). People on the street don't care about efforts. They care about looks. I will get approval, she will get shaming. It is quite the opposite what we would deserve, based on our lifestyle...

Which is why I think that "Why do you think fat people don't deserve to be loved" would have been the better statement, rather than "You're not fat." Because she is. I'm fat. I'm impressively fat. I'm still loved. If someone tells me I'm not fat, I'm insulted. I spent my whole life getting fat, thankyouverymuch.

I suppose your right in some ways. But everybody deserves a CHANCE at love. Some people don't know what love is and are focused on lust and some want a relationship so bad they just randomly ask people out. Some people are just dumb teens who don't know what they are doing and others are just a-holes but I think that it depends on who you really are and also if the person you love loves you back.
