My local post office will not mail anything without a return address on it. According to them it's USPS policy so it makes me wonder how so many of these made it through.

The US state I live in gave $600 dollar a week bonuses to everyone on unemployment, and nothing to the people who actually went to work every day of the pandemic. After the pandemic the governor even voted down a single check for people who'd worked during the pandemic. If I'd left my job for "health related reasons" which I did qualify for, I would have made more on unemployment than I did at work. But I thought I was doing the right thing going to my "essential" retail job. If I could go back, I'd have spent the pandemic collecting unemployment and having a better life.

Someone Asks “What Job Is 100% Overpaid?” And 30 People Don’t Hold Back With Their Answers

Average commission on a sold property was 6%. 3-3.5% for sellers agent and the rest for buyers agent (this is the part that changed). Of that percentage, most brokerages take 25% or more from the Realtors commission(you must belong to a brokerage in most states). The realtor also pays advertising, membership dues, etc. At least in the state I live in, realtors are considered independent contractors so they have to pay self employment tax, which is high, on top of income yax and social security. 90% of realtors leave the profession without selling 10 houses. That's not to say there aren't bad ones, but they are the minority. I am related to multiple realtors.

When I did maintenance for college dorms, I saw a lot of d***s and booze. Found a huge roll of cash in one room with several bags if weed and shrooms. We rescheduled that one. Also had a hungover girl in her underwear open the door for us to repair her window blinds and then get back in bed and fall asleep. We left, locking the door behind us. Working for an estate sale company, I've seen multiple hoarding houses. Worst one was an old couple that had literally every McDonald's collectable from the last 30 years because the wife had worked there. The floors were covered in pads for their dogs to poop and pee on because the couldn't get up to take them outside. It was depressing. We turned down that job.

I had a stroke. It was minor, no long lasting effects, but it was still terrifying. I'm only 44 years old. If you've been meaning to get healthier, but take the attitude "I'll do it when things start to get hard," don't. Do it now. I literally woke up and couldn't speak right for half a day. It could have just as easily killed me. Quit smoking today. Start a healthy diet today. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed.
