If convicted, the guy gets 3 years in prison? Doesn't it sound too lenient? From the evidences of what he did, it obviously says he left her at -17 on purpose. Otherwise, why not to take care of the dangerous situation earlier, especially when it was getting darker? He was a professional climber: He knew the expectations.. The helicopter flew over them, but he acts upon too late waiting for hours. And turns off the phone... What is this? One of the comments was quite right--Couldn't he just say to her "sorry" and break up instead of taking the woman to the "romantic mountain tour" in the evening time? What was his purpose after all? No, such selfish idiots really p**s me off. He'll be released in 3 max years but the poor and absolutely innocent woman doesn't exist anymore. And I agree with another comment: Who climbs the peak of the mountain in winter? It's not just a heal after all. Only God knows what he had on his mind. I think he's fully guilty and he committed a crime.

If she was struggling, why didn't they start descending, rather than continuing towards the summit - it's not like it's going to be warmer or more sheltered higher up? If you have to leave an injured or exhausted companion, you do so after multiple attempts to contact help, moving them to the most sheltered spot you can find, creating a windbreak, and covering them with every blanket and spare item of clothing available. Then you continue trying to reach help as you descend, and you don't switch off your f*****g phone unless it's a battery issue and resucuers are telling you to switch it off to save the power. At a minimum this guy is a callous narcissist, who put his desire to finish the climb over her safety, and didn't care enough to take even the most basic measures to shelter her before leaving.
