@Pere It's the same here. Older Americans whine that they should not have to pay for the education of the kids coming into college. So I pointed out to them that the average graduate does not earn enough to live on their own, even with roommates, and still have enough to pay off their student loans. I also pointed out that older generations were not burdened with debt because most of them could earn what they needed for tuition over a summer. But tuition prices have risen so much, that's not possible anymore.

I hope I never run into you then. I've always had indoor/outdoor cats. I live in the English countryside and there's nothing here too dangerous for them. No coyotes, bears, wildcats whatever. Sure there are foxes, but not the overconfident city foxes. Most of my cats have chased foxes away. They've lived long lives too. As to killing wildlife, you just put two or three bells on their collar and they can't catch anything. Every situation is different and I hate people who believe theirs is the only right way. Indoor cats are fine for cities, near busy roads, or places with high predator density, but they're not the be all and end all. We're just about to adopt two cats who have to remain indoor cats, which we'll adapt to as necessary. But when you can, I believe cats should be allowed to roam.

Sure there are foxes, but not the overconfident city foxes. Most of my cats have chased foxes away. They've lived long lives too. As to killing wildlife, you just put two or three bells on their collar and they can't catch anything. Every situation is different and I hate people who believe theirs is the only right way. Indoor cats are fine for cities, near busy roads, or places with high predator density, but they're not the be all and end all. We're just about to adopt two cats who have to remain indoor cats, which we'll adapt to as necessary. But when you can, I believe cats should be allowed to roam.

I can't imagine a fox or weasel could/would kill a cat. The neighboring dog would be a bigger threat than them. But people who live in areas with coyotes just shouldn't own a cat in the first place.

I have a friend who spent her entire life growing up in special ed classes. In high school, she asked her teacher where she should go to college so she could be a teacher, too. That teacher laughed at her and told her she would never go to college. I met her in college, she became a teacher, and now she owns and operates her own business. A buddy of mine has a ranch in Texas where they raise cattle, and they're the friendliest creatures this side of the dogs. It's hard not to get attached to them, and to the pigs as well. We have to warn the children not to get too attached, because one day, Bessie is going to be on the table.

In France we use paper checks also and apparantly more often than in Us. No problem at all. With all advantages attach to this way of payment. If it's necessary, all French banks can easily check the validity in either direction.
