Ok, your top contender on this list and it is certainly not someone who ruined their stellar reputation in a matter of seconds. Rudy had a lot of issues as mayor and throughout his career, leading up to 9/11. He happened to be mayor at the time of the attacks and because he stood with the American people during a time of suffering. Bravo, anyone would have. Let's not forget that he later campaigned for the presidency, citing 9/11 in practically every sentence he uttered, using it as a political prop to help his chances. Although his most blatant, on-camera evil comes from his ongoing stint as Trump's attorney, this isn't some hero acknowledged who suddenly gave in to the dark side. Because Rudy's become such a sideshow joke, pundits point to all of the ridiculous things he's done and throw out the same photos of his eyes bulging out or his spray dye dripping down his face, but that shouldn't be what he's remembered for

A lot of these examples don't suit the title "destroyed their solid reputation in a few seconds" Cosby was drugging and raping women loooong before he got the America's Dad title and continued his crimes throughout his career. He didn't destroy his reputation, his reputation was built on top of a lifetime of sexual crimes and deceit. It was the strength of his victims and countless days of work that brought him to justice, which was undone (incidentally, in a matter of seconds) by a legal technicality.
