Institutions still use cheques because they are generated to cancel receivables within their accounting systems. Individuals will wire money to each other, but having employees with bank codes to order wire transfers (that btw can be hacked via email) isn't a way to securely move one-time payments yet.

Women have a higher body fat ratio naturally (the little jelly belly is there for a reason) and we are more efficient with rationing calories than men. Ever notice that women are always complaining of cold hands and feet? That's nature trying to keep our core warm at the expense of our limbs. Plus we tend to be a little smaller on average. This is a rough guide though, obviously a woman who is very active and large framed needs more calories that a senditary smaller sized man.

They look like they could be our parents. Getting a good haircut, keeping your face fresh with light makeup, staying relatively slim and not dressing at "lady stores" really does the trick. Smoking, extra pounds to let gravity have its way with you, and dressing in baggy clothing ages you tremendously.

I think we just associate certain styles with being old because our parents/grandparents wore them and we think of them as adult even in old pics. Also a lot of these people were aged by smoking, drinking or drug problems. Being grey or bald early is going to automatically make people think you're older too.

I have been twice to the US, twice went the the cheesecake factory, both times had decent/nice food, both times did not get cheesecake. Portions are so big in the US how does anyone add cake.

Hah hah, this was a great read. I have never had a more bizarre and out-of-body experience than eating at a Cheesecake Factory when I was in the US. I kept on thinking that no amount of psychedelics would get me through the experience.The interior design and fifty page menu (yeah, I’m exaggerating, but it went on for ever) was as utterly strange and chaotic as described above. Perhaps I was drugged by one of the waiters as I began to consume my 9.00 dollar cheesecake with a growing sense of sadness and ennui. However, I couldn’t stop eating it despite the fine layer of sugar that I could feel covering my teeth and the fact that I may have been slowly eating my way to a heightened state of Nirvana induced sugar ecstasy. I’m not sure if I left a happier person or not...
