Sick Man Shows That His Insurance Company Is Prioritizing Wealth Over His Health And Doesn't Even Hide It

In the US there's a combo of dangerous factors: poor salaries ,so poor insurances, no paid sick days at all, so usualy they're forced to work even if sick.And of course the overcharged medical expenses, necessary not to treat people but to feed the money machine beyond the healthcare system: insurances, providers, etc.. I read the government finally stated to pay from test and paid sick days, but isn't engough. A serious Covid infected ( so in average 8/10%) needs 2 weeks or more of ICU hospitalization.ICU hospitalizatin (not mentioning visit, test, follow up, medicines etc) usually is 4-6000 US per day. So even if you have a "good insurance" the policy excess or copayment is very hard to efford. So lots of people have this hard choice: be killed by the pathology itself or be treated and then starving because of debts. This Covid is probably the nemesis of this profit-oriented, not care-oriented, system

I think somenoe there didn't get the real point. The point is the spreading rate, that can leads to healthcare collapse. In Italy 6/7 % of infected needs long ICU hospitalization, approximately 40% need standard hospitalization. I don't know any country able to treat simoultaneously almost half of its population. In EU, Germany is the best equipped with appprox 30000 ICU bed, but they're 80 millions, so ICU bed are less the 0,05 % of them. If we don't stop the contagion, in a very short time we can't treat lots of people, even if not infected, that needs ICU ( as example strokes, car accident, hearth attack, serious injuries).

I think che complete lack of welfare is the opposite of what leaving in a community means. Welfare is not democratic republican or socialist or whatever. Basically in the US you live to work, and the correct way should be "work to live." Furthermore you'll pay for test, i read yesterday about an US citizen was charged 3000 USD for a cotton swab and related test; you'll pay for the vaccine, once available, and according to your pure-capitalism based nation, the more it will be required the more it will costs. Basically in the US if you're not rich or very good-insured( that means to be rich) and seriously sick, you can choose to die for the disease itself or starving on the street after losing antything, to pay the medical expenses. Politicians are very clever to make people fight each others for unrelevant ideological questions; it's time you fight togheter for the real issues that have great impact in your whole life. and the healthcare system is the main one. I've been woking for a great european travel/medical insurance, since over a decade. As everywhere in the world, there are good and bad doctors, by the way the US system is a mess it-self, not care-oriented, absolutely profit-oriented. If someone there saw SICKO, i can ensure you all you can see in this movie is real, and still happening) Moreover, usually if you go to a urgent care for a visit as a private you'll pay (for example) 200 USD, as insured the cost grow up to 5/600 USD. The system has a lot of tricks to create a kind of "confort profit area" for doctors, facilities, and others. like the PPO provider, that exist only to renegotiate a lower price. Actually, it's like a shop with a sale 30% off, but in the previous month they increased all prices to 200%...so a false discount.As insurance, we suffer their unbelievable bureaucracy, the delay to receive the invoices it may takes up to 2 years!!!They several times send invoice to both, insurance and client. a real jungle
