A Wonderful Compliment For A Wonderful Man
Sir Martyn Poliakoff!! He is super cool. See him in Periodic Videos on Youtube. Even if you could care less about chemistry, you will enjoy this fine gentleman.
Been following for a while, periodically that is. …….that was a joke who knows who he is.
Load More Replies...Reminds me of Prof Julius Sumner-Miller. American physicist who lived in Australia many many years ago and was a major part of my childhood science education. Taught many a kid how to get an egg into a milk bottle. Also spokesperson for Cadbury Chocolate. Can still hear him saying "A glass and a half of full cream milk in every block!"
Rip Jimmy Carter
The tangerine toddler and his right-hand man Elon mush are c*****g so many important things. A$$holes.
Load More Replies...No comments on the uncanny resemblance bt Carter and Johansson. You ppl are obsessed.
It would be fascinating to trace the DNA back. A common ancestor would not be a surprise.
I wonder if Scarlett will look like Jimmy as she gets older?
While this list is about rare compliments, how they were delivered draws more attention here. The unique blend of wit and humor made these comments worthy of a screenshot and share.
Journalist and Harvard University lecturer James Geary published a book in 2018 titled Wit’s End: What Wit Is, How It Works, and Why We Need It. In it, he mentioned that wit essentially establishes a common ground between entirely different ideas.
Funny Rare Compliment Found On R/Rareinsults
Actually, I've seen this video. She's talking to a scammer, messing with him.
This was a cop who received a scam call and was having fun with it. As soon as I heard the video I recognized the voice. I had gotten a call from the same scammer a week before.
Careful with that 'Karen' insult. Karens in the UK are almost all over 60 and working/lower middle class. They are not women with power. You're jeering at their age, their class and their powerlessness? Perhaps you think 'Paddy' jokes are funny too.
A haircut doesn’t mean “Karen”. Let’s not just throw insults out there.
I am so tired of the Karen thing. Ohh a woman who isn't 25 anymore, and loookkkk she has shortish hair, she must be insufferable!!! (And no, my name is not Karen nor do I have this haircut.)
A "Karen" is not an age or a haircut, it's an attitude. Entitled and bigoted with an overinflated ego and a tendency to "cry wolf" to the police or other authority figures makes you a "Karen", not your age or your style choices.
Load More Replies...Using the name Karen to designate a unpleasant person is just wrong. Would you use it this way in front of a friend or relative with that name? What if it were your name that were used this way? One day, perfectly good name, the next clueless folks all over using it like this.
The usage references more than unpleasantness. It's entitlement and deceitfulness used to get their way. It's more than complaining. It's about demanding more for their inflated sense of self worth, the belief that the rules don't apply to them and that they are in a better class above the "unwashed masses." We could use a far better word to describe this person, I agree. My name (real name, not Sophia) has always been associated with "dumb" blondes and cheer leaders. Maybe it bothers me less than the use of "Karen" because I was born into a place and time that already did this with my name, so I've always been shrugging it off for 40 yrs whereas "Karen" has not been used that long. I had to get used to dumb blonde comments fast. I had platinum blonde hair from birth to about puberty and it turned a honey color. The honey color didn't stop the jokes but I was already having to shrug it off. So yeah, there might be a big difference because of its more sudden usage.
Load More Replies...I think this is from a video where a scammer inadvertently called a police station and told the officer that she had a tax evasion warrant out for her arrest, and the police were on their way. She really had fun with this one.
Wholesome And Unique
Awww...sweet! My husband lost quite a bit of weight (for health reasons) and looks great - and, more importantly, feels better - but there are times I really miss the nice padding. It felt like home and comfort.
The Best Compliment A Goth Girl Could Get
See, you can make a positive comment about a women with exposed skin without being a sexist or smutty.

“(Wit) consists in binding together remote and separate notions, finding similarity in dissimilar things (or dissimilarity in similar things), and drawing the mind from one word to another,” Geary wrote.
Geary adds that a witty person’s brain has far fewer inhibitions and “uncensored access to associations.”
What A Compliment
The unit of beauty is the helen. If your looks can launch only one ship, your beauty is one millihelen. This isn't mine, but I can't remember who wrote it in order to give credit, sorry.
40 from Locris, and 12, I think, from Salamis. That's all I remember :D
Load More Replies...Isn't it refreshing to see beauty without a ton of makeup and flapping fish lips.
In the 19th century, the streets of London would have overflowed with suitors straining just to get a glimpse of this fetching creature.
The pre-Raphaelites would have fought duels with each other over who was going to paint her first.
I Found This On An R/Askreddit Thread Where The Question Was "What Is Your Biggest Flex?"
Sometimes Youtube Comments Are Wholesome
Is that the guy with the grimace smile that never reaches his eyes?
Not everyone may have the same sharp wit as the commenters on this list. Fortunately, it’s a skill you can develop if you feel like you lack it. In an interview with Boston.com, Geary gave some tips, beginning with practicing puns.
In the interview, Geary gave this simple pun as an example: “‘What branch of the army do babies join? The infantry.” It is easily understood, which draws an easy laugh. As Geary explains, it puts everyone on the same wavelength.
Task Failed Successfully
Turns out they deny everyone. I tried to join and when they let me in it was just me and the admin he told me it was his way of helping people feel good about themselves, but when he saw my picture he had to make an exception.
Well, it seemed to have worked. About making people feel good about themselves, that is. Being rejected by an ugly group is the highest compliment anyone can receive.

Winter Of George
That's such a clever way to do this. I see so many people desperately trying and getting nowhere, no response, no anything just ignored. I really like this approach and hope it pays off for them
Taking things literally is another way to sharpen your wit. Geary says interpreting daily symbolisms at face value allows for clever delivery.
As an example, he used one of comedian Steven Wright's famous one-liners: “When everything is coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane.”
Saving The Planet One Tweet At A Time
Andrew Tate has been detained following the video he made in response to Greta's tweet, so he won't be able to drive the 33 cars he owns.
Ahhh, glorious days. He shall never live that down, the f*****g weak rapey shyte.
The demon Tate was sent back to the US by the demon trump. MAGAts...protecting the s*x abusers yet again.
Look, as much as I hate Trump (and I reeeaaaly hate Trump), he had nothing to do with Tate getting back to the US. Tate is one of the few people both the left and all but the most extreme on the right agree on: he is scum and we don't want him back. Heck, Ron DeSantis, Mini-Trump and governor of Florida, ordered the state bureau of investigation to immediately begin investigating Tate to see if they can find anything on him here in the US. Shouldn't be hard to do since he admits to all his crimes on video.
Load More Replies...My council (UK) specifically says not to recycle takeaway pizza boxes!
Some have an aluminum coating, maybe that's the reason
Load More Replies...Here in Sacramento, northern California, we throw our pizza boxes, among other things, in our green waste bin. Our food and associated things are then composted, catching all that carbon. Try it in your community. It may save the earth.
Same here. We have a red general waste bin, green waste bin (weeds, garden clippings, etc) and a yellow recycling bin. Soon most states will also have (some councils already do) a small purple bin, for food waste.

Found Another Gem On Youtube
I picked a psychologist at random for a free consultation. Got berated and criticised so badly after 10 min of taking. She wouldn't let me answer her questions or correct her. Later, I checked her description and she wrote she doesn't believe in accidents, so if you choose her, it's for a reason. Yeah, a reason to finally lose faith in humanity.
One point Geary made is that wit and humor don’t necessarily have to go hand in hand. In a 2019 talk at the Chautaqua Institution, he explained that the slight difference is that the former requires more mental exercise.
“Like juggling, wit is keeping a lot of different ideas, a lot of balls, in the air at the same time,” he said, emphasizing that wittiness is about “finding novel combinations about things.”

B. A. Baracus, Mr. T's character on the A-Team (TV series). Right away the bad guys fear him but he loves kids and they love him back. Not animated, I know, but he had his own cartoon with kids as the center focus.
The Man Did Indeed Have A Nice Voice
My dad used to say someone had a telephone book voice, a voice so beautiful you would happily listen to him (usually a him) read the telephone book. For those of us who remember telephone books.
Patrick Stewart, Vincent Price, Morgan Freeman, Ben Kingsley......
Load More Replies...I had a wonderful Uber driver once with the most magnificent voice ever! I told him so, and he said he was offered a job in radio. I kinda just wanted to ride around with him all night lol. Super cool, down to earth nice guy. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ would def ride with again
I have been told that the only reason someone would know the Hobbit is if I read it to them. My voice is extremely deep for my age, and I'm apparently an incredible baritone.
I consider myself exceedingly lucky to be married to Mr Gentle Voice himself. Never loses his temper (doesn't have a temper come to think of it) and he is Ace at reading bedtime stories to the kids. They just fall asleep pretty quickly :-)
At First I Was Like Huh? Then I Get It
One of my favourite insults is “may your pillows always be warm on both sides”
Absolutely my dream collection of instruments in this picture. Love the amplifier colors. Danelectro longhorn bass is a unique color as well.

Oh, my god... I am also like that... Does that mean i need help?naaaaaaah: bad interpretations come from the society you live in. In the community I live in, everybody offers help to others, with no second intentions. Think about changing to another more friendly country.
Load More Replies...Actually, that would be a case of well-meant not really meaning well-done. At least in my country, the stress --for kids like elementary school age-- is that you don't get into anybody's car unless your parents allowed you to. Like, it's not "strangers are dangerous so don't talk to them". On the other hands, if there are several kids, the risk is lower of course.
One Of The Nicest Compliments I Have Gotten On Reddit. :)
