Man Finds Random Packages On His Doorstep And Refuses To Return Them On His Own Dime

I live in a small neighborhood, and for a time was regularly receiving packages for a house on street over, same house number different street name. A couple of times I ran the packages to the house if I was on my way out anyway, but this got old fast. Suggested to the neighbor I could text them so they could pick up, but they didn't seem keen on that. So I started reporting the incorrect delivery online to the carrier. I was told to print something they sent, attach to the box, and leave on porch. Sometimes it would take 3-4 days for them to pick it up (even though they came regularly to drop stuff off). They would have to take back to office, record pick up, and then take back out for delivery. Waste of everyone's time...except mine :-)

I don't know why people are down voting you. Not making time to do activities his wife who is recovering from an injury can do is rude. Sure, if they want to do some more physical ones communicate and say "hey, I know you can't, but do you mind if I head out with Kate to do some paddleboarding? Then I can take you out for lunch" it doesn't seem too hard to be able to balance doing fun things and looking after your wife.

I believe in being the bigger person, not the retaliatory person. One time Grandma was told to stop. She didn't. Time to sit Grandma down and have a talk about the hurtful nature of her comments and that it will not be tolerated. Then if Grandma does it again, you firmly remind her that there has been a boundary set and she is expected to back off. You don't just hit her back like it is some kind of playground fight.

Hey Pandas, AITA For Saying No When My Sister Tried To Move Into My Spare Room Without Asking?

My husband/I let a friend stay with us for about 3 months one time when she was between apartments. She ultimately moved in with a boyfriend. Some time later after cheating on the boyfriend (he actually offered to let her stay and work on things, but she cheated because she didn't have the nerve to break things off and figured he would throw her out), she showed up at our door "for a few days". Six months later she finally moved back home with her parents out of state, leaving us with a huge phone bill and daily calls from debt collectors trying to find her. We have never allowed anyone to "stay a few nights" since!

I've never understood why people gift things that are so clearly not appropriate for the recipient! I married into a family that was very much that way, but with a twist. There were 3 daughters and 2 DILs (I'm one). For Christmas, if one daughter collected a particular thing - in one case, it was antique dolls - then we ALL got a doll from her parents. Because that made things "fair" and they got a good price. Dolls weren't identical, so everyone but me gifted their doll to the collector. I donated mine :-) My gift, my choice.

When narcissist show their true colors, whether before or during a wedding, believe them!

OMG this post was so validating for me. For YEARS we would get framed photos of school photos for Christmas from his family. Kids that we were not actually close to. This year during a massive house clean out, I donated boxes and boxes of picture frames to a local charity where the in-laws will never see them...and didn't bother taking those photos out!

I read this and had to laugh - I have had the opposite problem my whole married life. I am one of the 2 DILs and there are 3 daughters. I am also an only child, and we didn't have children. For many years I was told that my place for holidays, birthdays, any kind of gathering was to be at their house because I was a daughter now. Nope, my parents were my priority. Got so bad that my husband started prioritizing my parents over his because they were kind to him. Reluctantly his family eventually accepted this. But since my husband passed earlier this year and my parents are gone, I've been getting pressured to come back. I still have my own relatives that I will prioritize, and my friends that have been rock during this difficult time. I am not and have never been one of their daughters.

Have a friend who had to go through a series of shots last year because off-leash dog "who had never been aggressive before in his life" approached her on-leash dog. When she stepped between, off-leash bit her. Owners came and collected dog, and while she was getting first aid they disappeared with dog. This was on a vacation, so she had no idea where to locate these people, or if they were even local. Doctor advise shots in case off-leash was not vaccinated for rabies.

Hey Pandas, AITA For Refusing To Cover Full Rent After Someone Slept In My Room?

Sorry, while I do think it is entirely unacceptable for any of your roommates to have used your room and/or slept on your bed, legally you don't get to NOT pay your full month's rent just because that happened. Can you imagine saying to your landlord, "John and some girl had sèx on my bed while I was visiting my parents' house. I'm not paying my rent this month." It sucks, it's gross, and it's not cool that they did it, but you ARE still responsible for the full rent you agreed to. YTA for sticking someone else with that bill.

The point is not about putting up privacy film or closing the curtains. The point is these kids are Peeping Toms, and need to be made to understand that is wrong by the adult in charge of them. It is an invasion of OP’s privacy, and their neighbor refuses to understand. What if OP and/or her husband decided to come peep into THE NEIGHBOR’s windows? How would the neighbor feel about that? Yeah, I know, they wouldn’t like it. Problem is, it still might not set the wheels in their brain into motion and give them the necessary a-ha moment to realize they need to teach their kids/grandkids better manners, because some horrible people never become self-aware, and still go to their graves fully believing that THEY were absolute perfect angels and EVERYONE ELSE was horrible.

Honestly? ESH. Both OP and Maddy sound incredibly childish, which makes sense because they are children. Nothing that has been said makes me think one is some evil monster; they're kids acting their age. I do feel a bit sorry for the mom, but I kinda feel that if your kid has an incredibly antagonistic relationship with a person's kid, it's best just not to date that person. I highly doubt it was love at first sight. She decided to date him, knowing that if their relationship deepened, it would cause her kid distress. Even if the kids' grudge is childish, that doesn't mean they should just be expected to put it all aside to be siblings.

I lost my husband 4 months ago after 5 years dating and 32 years marriage. We had not written down wishes, but I knew his heart very well. I knew what he would want was not aligned with what his parents/siblings would expect. I made every choice about the Celebration of Life, cremation, and what I am doing with the ashes with every confidence that it is what he wants. It put me in an incredibly difficult situation with some of his family, but we've never been close anyway. If I had not followed what I knew to be his wishes, I would have felt that I betrayed his heart for the rest of my life. You knew what he wanted. You did that for him. I bet it is one of the reasons he loved you.

In college I attended the wedding of a high school friend. It was in a catholic church, so I assumed a certain level of formality. My only nice dress was a deep gray, short slip dress with a color-matched lace overlay. Perfect for nice brunch, dinner, and a wedding, so I thought. When I arrived at the church I saw her mother and she looked horrified but said nothing. It wasn't until the bride came down the aisle that I knew we were wearing THE EXACT SAME DRESS, except hers was white. At the reception, she thought it was hysterical that we matched!

I have several friends with severe cat allergies, so they don't come to my home. But I have been to their houses, even spending the night, and they have never reacted to my being there. I don't take special precautions like showering and changing just before I go. This is ridiculous.
