If this had happened to me, I would have definitely left with my wife - she's not going to be disrespected because a friend of mine doesn't want her sitting near us. The OP made an error by not leaving with her BF to show her friend that her relationship is important to her. The key is that everyone else was seated with their partner. That shows it was a power play. Maybe the "friend" wanted to split up OP and her boyfriend. Maybe she genuinely doesn't like him. No matter what, you can't disrespect a friend's partner like that.

Just this last week my daughter & I had a flight from RI to Orlando. On the flight down I booked a window for my daughter & sacrificed myself to a middle seat. I know it’s a three-ish hour flight & figured I could deal with being in the middle. The man to my right & his wife (aisle seat directly across) we’re fine, although he took the arm rest (Wtf? Do people not know this or are they just a******s?). I’m guessing he knew because every now & then he’d give a few seconds to grab an inch, but not really. I made myself be positive because we were on our way to our vacation. Cut to a week later….guess who Are in the exact same seat configuration? Dude is again next to me & now that we’re on the way home he doesn’t give a toss if his arm is leaning on me, or if he’s all over the arm rest. He could give ash*t. I began watching a movie & it stopped a few minutes in. The screen kept jumping about. IThe man next to me was jamming my screen with his elbow on the arm rest. Absolute ignorant wank
