Honestly I get this kid. Dad brings in a new wife and step kid and then money likely saved by the deceased mom and dad specifically for this kid to get an education is taken and used on the new step kid, leaving the son with nothing does suck a lot. The real problem is of course the broken American healthcare system, but Dad should have exhausted every other option before essentially stealing from his son. Not being able to go to college or being stuck with crippling debt is a handicap for life. Also a result of the broken American system. But I don't think he is wrong to be mad at his parent. HE didn't marry the woman or her kid and yet HE ends up bearing a large consequence because of his father's actions and the father refuses to acknowledge that.

And yet sometimes people can´t afford a second opinion because of lousy healthcare system..
