The advent of online shopping drastically changed the world as we know it. Finally, we didn’t have to spend hours driving from store to store to find exactly the dress or couch that we had in mind. Instead, we could just hop online from the comfort of our homes, type in a few keywords and find endless options at our fingertips. However, this is a blessing and a curse. Because when we don’t get to see items in person, we don’t always know exactly what we’re paying for.
One page that knows this all too well is the What I Ordered Vs. What I Got Instagram account. This page features hilarious photos of online shopping fails that occurred when people put way too much faith in a product that’s price was too good to be true. 3 biggest mistakes people make with tattoos is 1) NEVER get a name unless it's your mother, father or kids, 2) Never get writing in foreign languages without making 1000% sure what it says/means & 3) not making sure the tattooist is actually an artist to begin with. If they can't draw detailed pictures on paper, the tat is going to be 10X worse than that. A good tat is all about the detail.

As far as where customers are spending their money, it’s not surprising that Amazon is leading the way in e-commerce in the United States. But there are some extremely successful companies following behind, including Walmart, Apple, eBay, Target, The Home Depot, Costco, Best Buy, Carvana and Kroger.

You’re right on parts, the well sewn one would genuinely only look good on someone with long legs and a thing frame, it’s not a very smart dress to base anything off if you don’t look like a mannequin. The right is just so badly sewn, I just wanna squish in and fix the back hemlines and make the skirt more mermaid cinched and actually flatter her figure.

When you order from these sites, they won't take the disaster back. A so called bargain isn't.
It’s not hard to see why so many consumers prefer online shopping. It’s convenient, it’s easy to find the best deals, and it allows customers to find countless products that they wouldn’t have even known existed if they only shopped in-store. Plus, the experience is painless for shoppers who don’t have cars, don’t want to sit in traffic and don’t want to have to interact with employees. But is it really worth it?

Aside from the obvious risk of not knowing exactly what’s going to show up on your doorstep, there are some other downsides to online shopping. First of all, it’s terrible for the environment. Earth.org reports that all of this online shopping means companies are creating excessive amounts of waste, from bubble wrap to boxes. And sadly, not even 14% of the plastic waste that’s produced globally each year actually ends up getting recycled.

I am a former cake decorator. This one is actually not too hard to do if you use fondant which rolls out easy and is pliable similar to play dough. The hair and mouth are black frosting out of piping bag. My question is why did they add teeth?

AI vs real life. Looking at it you can tell it's AI. So why would you expect it to actually look like that?

Why would you buy an AI dress and expect it to look like the picture? That woman doesn't have ribs or internal organs. You'd have to sculpt the dress feather by feather on top of you with plastifoam or something.
As you can clearly see from this list, if the price of an item online seems too good to be true, it probably is. It’s really not worth it to buy a cheap knock-off that you think will save you money if, in reality, the product is completely useless. So if you want to avoid this problem altogether, might I recommend quitting online shopping? It might feel like a huge hassle to drive from store to store or actually spend time trying on clothes, but I promise that it will be worth it when you finally find the perfect piece. Plus, you'll never have to return an item via mail again.

Whenever I see these kinds of nail comparisons I wonder why the client didn't intervene? I mean you can literally watch the nail tech work on your nails in real time and from up close. Why not say "waaaait this isn't what we agreed on, this looks terrible already" instead of waiting until it's finished?
Another great aspect of doing your shopping in person is that it will probably make you a much more mindful consumer. It’s easy to impulsively order an item that you spotted online in a matter of seconds. But when you actually have to travel to a store, get to feel an item and have to check-out with a cashier, you might just decide that you didn’t need the item after all. Or you may decide to think about it for a few days, as it’s clear that there’s no rush when there are dozens of the same item available!

I'm pretty sure I made the shirt on the right in 7th grade home ec class. It was essentially a bag with three holes at one end, more or less in usual places.

Toilet paper and a flat hand. Same deal with shorter nails. I'm more curious if they ever accidentally gouge their eye when they sneeze or stab themselves if they get an itch. But my biggest concern with any long nail is how they get their jeans on or open anything, or fold sheets and blankets without a nail ripping. I used to have mid length nails at the most, a bit shorter than these, round shaped, and that's what it always felt like. I had to file them down a bit to function.

You can absolutely use crin (usually a narrow strip of a horsehair based fabric) and boning to get fabric to hold its shape and defy gravity, particularly if you use a starched fabric that holds its structure to make an outfit like this.

The darker area is the lace of the wig that’s not been trimmed. Lace-front wigs are exactly what the name implies. The hairs are attached to a netting. A section on the front remains and is trimmed to the contours of the wearer’s head/ face, then secured to the forehead, usually by a glue like spirit gum. This gives the illusion of a natural hairline and makes the wig appear to be the wearer’s own hair as opposed to a cheaper wig which is pulled on like a beanie, often showing a hard line or separation at the forehead hairline, looking like a hair hat, or obscured by stiff bangs which always immediately look like a wig. A lace-front can be further blended with makeup. Sure, up close it’s visible in person, but not immediately detectable and on stage, photographs or film, looks reasonably natural. It’s been the entertainment industry standard for hair pieces for decades. I’ve worn them myself when playing parts requiring period gentleman’s hairdo or instead of dying my own hair.

Advice for buying clothes. You get what you pay for; don't buy from Temu or Shein. Read reviews; on Amazon, I won't buy anything with less than 100 reviews, with pictures. Read product descriptions, I need to know what the item is made from. I will not wear polyester. And finally, know your body type. No matter how accurate the item is, it will look different on you than the (probably photoshopped) model. Also, make sure the company has a clear return policy.

Ordered a sweater online recently that looked like it was made of wool in the picture, but was totally synthetic nylon when it arrived... OK, could maybe deal with that, but when I tried to put it on I couldn't get my head through the hole!

A number of these appear to be a case of ordering the wrong size and even more seem to be a case of “the dress won’t make your body look like the model’s”.

Advice for buying clothes. You get what you pay for; don't buy from Temu or Shein. Read reviews; on Amazon, I won't buy anything with less than 100 reviews, with pictures. Read product descriptions, I need to know what the item is made from. I will not wear polyester. And finally, know your body type. No matter how accurate the item is, it will look different on you than the (probably photoshopped) model. Also, make sure the company has a clear return policy.

I like to look for any photos that resemble my body and frame too in Reviews to really let it sink in wether it’s actually going to look good on me or I’m just imagining it
