Oh not you saying her vehicle was attacked by an ICE officer.. instead of she drove around harassing and trying to prevent them from doing their job, and if that wasn't bad enough she attempted to run over a law enforcement officer with that vehicle.. if she was at home taking care of her kids like she should have been she'd be alive now. Good old sheet linoleum doesn't get enough respect. In a commercial kitchen, that stuff can be walked on by dozens of people all day, mopped with sanitizer every night, and still look decent after years of use.

Just paid my mortgage off 4 years early on a 20 year mortgage on my house, built new in 2011. Now all that extra cash gets puts into a savings account for projects I want to do around here sometime. Luckily any upkeep/repairs cost me basically zero as I can do all the work myself.

....by this point it has probably been a couple years since I picked up that log. So now I need to market and sell it, or decide if I want to use it for myself to build furniture out of. So no, your tree is not worth 5k when I have to babysit it and hope for a return on my investment after all the labor I have into it.

The price is unreasonable. I have a sawmill and run into this constantly, people think their fallen trees are worth a small fortune. Take that tree for example, I have to take my truck and load it up, but I will also have to cut it to size before loading, if I damage your property getting it out of there, you will want me to fix that, and what about all the trash cut off from the log? Do you expect me to also clean that mess up? Then I have to mill it, depending on the moisture content it can take a few months in the kiln to dry depending on the thickness I mill the boards. If I sticker the boards and just let them air dry, then just plan on one year per inch thickness to dry to reasonable moisture content, most likely after a year I would put them in the kiln to speed the process along, (we need to get down around 10% MC or less), after that then I will most likely re-saw and plane the rough sawn boards into usable dimensional lumber... continued
