The issue is that when they continue to have violent protests and looting, they are reinforcing the very negative stereotypes that they are trying to eliminate.

Yes, it does swing both ways. Even though George Floyd's death was tragic I'm still always baffled at how people act so outraged over every incident. I say this because over half of all crimes (55%) are commited by black people despite the fact that they only make up 13% of the total population in America. Whats worse is, that an overwhelming number of black people don't die at the hands of cops but instead die at the hands of other black people. That should technically not make this a cop versus black person issue but rather a serious cultural, and economic situation that needs to be tackled.

I am doubtful that any of these actions will have a lasting effect. Alas. As the scholars say, racism in the US is institutionalised. It starts with small things. One example: whenever I take a survey that had been designed in the US, I stumble across "name your race: Caucasian, African Asian". Drop that shit! Race theories are disproven for decades, we are all humans.
