My theory of why the cat appeared to attack the child afterward... The cat knows the baby may crawl to the stair again and possibly cat may not be able to stop a fall: by making the baby cry out, an adult in the house will hear and respond. There's no soundtrack but if you look, the cat jumps the baby roughly enough to startle it and possibly make it cry - before dashing off to hide. The cat is expecting an adult to come. I have huge respect for the intelligence of these creatures.

I just find it sad that as women we are considered more attractive with makeup. People complain that wigs and plastic surgery makes someone seem fake but adding layers of "paint" and hairspray is an improvement. I look forward to the day that all of it is unnecessary.

I do believe cats and dogs have a sense to protect their humans and this cat seemed to stay near the stairs until the unprotected child moved away but I do wonder why he felt the need to attack the unprotected child after moving away from said danger. Maybe he saw a piece of glass. We may never know.
