A teacher did something like this for us. She gave us these paper strips & had us put them on our tongues. Turns out they were soaked in compounds that you either could or couldn't taste dependong on your ancestry. I ran from the room gagging while most others were fine.

I lived in the ghetto & pizza never delivered to our house. I thought it was normal & that pizza places only delivered within 5 minutes or less of their location. I didn't realize they were scared.

The italian restaurants where I live won't stop UNLESS you say when. I ended up with a pile of parmesan in my soup because I didn't realize that saying enough wouldn't work. I'm not complaining, I wanted that much cheese anyway but was trying to be polite.

Nobody's really sure where the tradition came from– there was a claim that it came from Germany, but I believe that there was a study conducted that said that hardly any people in Germany had ever heard of it. There are a few myths relating to hiding the pickle in the Christmas tree, but nobody's found any proof of them.

I bought a hat recently that was packaged in plastic, then air wrap in one box, then another huge box with peanuts surrounding the 1st box. I bought the same hat again for someone who like it. The second time it was only in the one box. Amazon doesn't seem to have much consistency with packaging but lately the packages have been getting bigger & more wasteful. I was actually happy that the second hat didn't have the redundant packaging.

Yeah it's a shame a woman doesn't have to spend every moment not tending to the home getting her looks in order. "Classy" came with a high price in terms of time, and you can't do anything in those dresses(that's why my grandma and others ladies spent most of their time in grubby house coats). The hair gets gross you know, because people didn't wash it in order to keep that classy style longer. Less formal dress means more time and freedom. True class is not in what you wear but in who you are.

Oh - I'm not advocating the type of packaging. There should be easy-to-open recyclable/biodegradable non-plastic packaging for this sort of thing, without question, but there are legitimate reasons for pre-peeled, pre-prepared foodstuffs. I think it's important to distingush between the packaging and the product.

People are pigs. Often when you buy bananas they look like they've been through the wars because they've been manhandled by so many slobs. It's also a way to sell overripe or overly green bananas. If they come packaged, people won't be able to take them off the bunches and leave them behind. ... I still think it's ridiculous, but I can see where they're coming from.
