I understand your fear, and that your comment may be facetious and spurious, but you’ve basically said “I’d just set my truck on fire to kill an animal that eats critters who carry diseases and the fleas that carry further diseases in order to avoid the predator that is actually extremely timid and likely won’t bite me if I just get in quickly… also me waiting for the snake to leave on its own isn’t an option either.” I get the whole “burn the house/vehicle down” posts when people see spiders, snakes etc but that kind of mentality is why us humans have made many snake species endangered. I don’t know offhand how many spider species we’ve caused to be endangered, but the vast majority who are venomous/poisonous are also timid (except the brown recluse). I dunno… just makes me laugh that the diseases that rodents and their fleas carry have killed hundreds of thousands more than spiders/snakes, yet we fear spiders/snakes and not rats, fleas, mosquitos etc. After a while, “funny” comments like yours just aren’t funny any more in actual reality.

I once saw an open topped sports car parked in a handicapped space. I was mentally criticizing the driver for it, when a man with a buff upper body but no legs came out of the gym, wheeled himself to the car, hoisted himself into it and then reached over, folded up his wheelchair, lifted it into the car and drove off. I then mentally apologized.

First, that's just one example out of many. Second, in the case of a missed miscarriage waiting for natural forces to take over is in no way safer for the woman. Third, yes, it is called an abortion and no, a miscarrriage is not the same as a stillbirth. A stillbirth is a baby that was carried to term and passed during the birth.

And it's the same shitshow in Poland. My aunt lives there and she tells me there has been a sigificant rise in the death of young women due to unsafe abortions and pregnancy-related comlications (i.e. a woman who was expecting her second child, from a planned pregnancy, died of sepsis, because the doctors would not perform a medically necessary abortion on a foetus that was already dead). Abortion bans deny women their humanity and theat them like incubators. WTF is wrong with these countries?

It's not cruel to keep them inside IF you have plenty of things to keep them busy. Almost every cat I have brought in from outside that was previously feral or stray(and there have been many) wants nothing more to do with going or being outside once they are inside. I'm thankful for that, but I think that says a lot. I personally think it is extremely negligent to let your cats roam. Specifically if they are not spayed or neutered. I have seen and cared for many, many cats that are products of people just allowing their unfixed cats to roam and it's not right. That's not even including the ones that have came to me near death or the ones I've had to bury from being hit by cars and poisoned. DON'T LET YOUR PETS FREE ROAM!

A high protein diet wont change anything. Cats don't just hunt for food, but also for fun. Just because you think it's cruel doesn't mean it actually is. Keeping cats indoors and having an enclosed outdoor space is actually recommended by most reputable veternarians, animal rights organisations etc. It's healthier and safer for cats to be kept contained, they also generally live longer there is plenty of evidence to suggest this as well. So keeping your cats contained is better for them, the neighbours AND the native wildlife.

Well, if we continue with the amount of pet-cats in this world, if we'd let all of them roam free, the problem would be even bigger! Cats hunt even if they have a good diet. If your cat chases a laser-pointer or a feather-on-a-stick, it WILL hunt anything that moves and kill what can't escape. Neutering is the bare but essential minimum. Less cats would be the best thing, or controlling their movement by keeping them in confined spaces (like a fenced-in yard or a netted-off balcony OR a well-equipped house) or leashing them is the next best thing. Keeping a cat in a small room: cruel! Keeping them in a bare house: cruel. Creating a cat-playground in your house or giving them only access to a small part of your yard and no unwatched outdoor-fun: not cruel but essential. ESPECIALLY in Australia, New Zealand or other island-nations.

If you have published research before marriage under the name Ann B. Then you will still want to be associated with that rather than changing your name to Dr Ann C. Near my parents house this is already the law aND 17 other councils have followed suit already since last year. Work environment. Was needed to cover the office in another town. Thought we all got on very well. Then came across an exercise book in which all the other office staff had written down things they said I was doing wrong, pasting copies of typing errors I’d made, times when they believed I was undertaking jobs that were not from that office/doing my own things, times when they said I’d answered the phone in the “wrong” way, etc. The book had been started as soon as I got there and after about 6 months it was over halfway full. I brought this to the office manager’s attention but she said to just ignore them as she knew of the books existence because the other staff had had a meeting with her about my under-performance. They also put me through a disciplinary process - they said that I had been looking up a disabled colleagues also disabled sisters details on our databases. From the placing and the angle of the console it was impossible for them to see. And I had NOT even done anything
