That show needed to end when it started showing sexual hijinks as the primary concern of interns, residents, and doctors. No. Seriously, no. Sure, some hanky-panky may occur, but trust me, we're not sitting on the floor maundering on about what to do with our lives. We're reading another chart, putting on the game face, and dreaming of uninterrupted sleep. (From my days as a med student -onward, anyway.)

I had exactly the same feeling with this show (i.e. the rinse and repeat). It got to the stage where I thought it didn't even need to be a zombie show, it could've just been any generic post apocalypse scenario as the zombies became just an afterthought. I made it to the mid point of season 5 then ended up missing a few episodes. I kept telling myself I'd go back and watch them but as the weeks rolled on and more and more episodes kept building I found that I didn't really care anymore. That to me is when a show is on it's way out, not love or hate for it rather total indifference. Sad really as when it started it was one of my "can't miss" shows.

Then why watch?

Just doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

I guess you have to appreciate psychological thrillers to really appreciate the art that is squid game. I loved it and thought they depicted everything spot on. It really showed how people will turn on each other when the stakes are high enough. This show would be any psychology students dream if they needed a topic for a paper.

This was such a masterpiece and had me anxious and questioning everything

I have no idea what the F squid game is, and I have no desire to learn.

The story of the people was far more interesting than the blatant and gratuitous violence.

I watched the first episode and got angry at people mindlessly being killed over something stupid. Im a Pacifist till I see something like that, than I get violent feelings for people who would just mow others down over nothing.

it's quite unique - I'll give it that. But falls into pretty familiar tropes of ego and stereotypical issues. It could have been half as long. I'm just glad people will watch something that's not made in the West.

I just watched "Alice in Borderland" from Japan in 2020, and one year later another "Battle Royale" clone did not impress me...

I think the concept is fun, but I found myself just waiting for the actual game and action to begin.

It was okay for a first-time watch. Had its moments for sure. Couldnt be bothered to ever watch it again.

Korea is good at marketing their culture. There are many other good shows out there from other countries. Just an example: Nodame Cantabile from Japan.

I watched an episode and a half and was BORED. No idea why it's popular.

I personally am a huge Korean film fan . I never knew that until Netflix . Train to Busan was the first one I watched that I loved

I had to watch it dubbed...made the acting TERRIBLE!

it's doesn't translate well

guh....i wouldn't call it the best show ever....the dubbed voices are godawful...but it tells common stories well....the rich vs. the poor...haves vs. have-nots....good guys/bad guys...greed...'reality' type situations and those who can't look away, and want more...much better than a lot of the f**kawful stuff Netflix greenlights anymore.

I cant agree more. Show is really good. I like it. BUT its just good show, nothing more. Its not masterpiece or best show ever.

I liked it but I have seen similar Japanese movies that came out 20 years ago. Squid Games wasn't original. But I still enjoyed it.

I have been trying to watch the first episode for something like 3 weeks now. Every few minutes is an eternity. WTF?!? Why is this so popular?

It's the most popular Netflix show, not the best. There's a difference.

I liked it, but it basically is a variation on the 2000 Japanese classic Battle Royale.

No spoilers but...I just finished episode 9 a few hours ago. LeBron needs to stick to opening schools and cartoons. I loved it, told my husband who only saw 2 episodes, and he wants to rewatch it with me. Every episode I cried, I laughed, I cringed. But I don't think it glorifies violence any more than a Joker movie. Maybe even less if I was to spoiler with my take on the last 2 episodes.

Watched 2 episodes, decided the style of acting wasn't for me and after noticing a few things it felt like it would probably end with a twist like "some of the contestants were the game master in disguise" or something lame like that. People who loved it, go you but it wasn't for me.

THIS.. I agree that this movie is good. But not good GOOD..becuase its idea is not new. There's few (asian) movie with same concept but better story and ending (i just feel like korean movie producer likes to copy some idea). And in my opinion, japan has better movie collection in term of concept and story. They just not so good to market it

i never bothered watching it bc wen a show gets that much hype chances r its horrible and critics were paid to set up the hype. all my friends watch shows that get great reviews and all 57 of my friends including all of my friends on facebook which is over 300 ppl anyone who watched either stopped after a few episodes or regretted watching all of it. no one i kno thought it was good. i watch wat i think sounds good or interesting and avoid hyped up shows. never watched the walking dead, shows like the bachlorette/bachlor, big brother, american idol none of them. ive watched america and britians got talent but only youtube videos of acts that id find interesting. that fact this show got so much hype before it was really even known was sketchy and a major red flag.
