If you're on LinkedIn, you must've noticed that companies and CEOs love to present themselves as sleek and efficient, but anyone who has ever worked in or around a big business knows the truth is usually a lot messier. Bloated hierarchies, endless meetings, and social media interns left unsupervised — you name it. The well-oiled capitalist machine sure has at least some cogs that are grinding and slipping.

The subreddit r/CorporateFacepalm is dedicated to collecting the silly, awkward, and downright baffling failures of white-collar workers — mostly online, but occasionally in real life, too — so we've rounded up the most memorable recent examples, perfect reminders that even billion-dollar brands can make total fools of themselves.

This is the big lie that major corporations are fooling so many people with: You must recycle, not waste resources, and not contribute to global warming, to save our planet! But those very corporations are doing FAR more damage than all of us consumers put together. Yet they tend to skate by without penalties, because they can basically bribe governments and politicians with their millions, in the form of lobbying.

My 80-year-old mother likes to shop at that JCPenney XD There used to be a Sears at that mall as well, but it closed a while back. I think there's only a few phyiscal Sears locations left - most of their sales are online now.

Interestingly, employees and employers view things differently, with the latter having a much brighter outlook.

83% of employers rated their organization's work environment as "very positive" or "somewhat positive," while just 45.0% of employees said the same about their current or most recent job's atmosphere (although respondents did not necessarily work for the same companies).

81% of employees believe clear communication from the higher-ups helps ensure a positive workplace—more than staff recognition and appreciation (70%) and strong work/life balance (69%).

Meanwhile, in America, anti-Semitic crime is at its highest level in large universities, according to one of the most racist commentators in the country, Donald Trump, despite a lack of evidence, except for a few demonstrations against Israel for its genocidal policies against Palestinians. Anti-Arabic crime is, however, blatantly on the rise, as evidenced by attempts by ICE to throw Arabs out of the country and numerous documented attacks on people who appear to be Muslims.

There was a similar themed advert in the UK to publicise government retraining programmes, one of which featured a ballerina who, apparently, really dreamed of being a coder or similar. The British public kicked off! Why on earth would anyone put themselves through the deprivation, pain, and intense competition, to become an employed ballet dancer if it wasn’t their dream? And what did they think they were doing suggesting she’d be better off as a coder?? That was a bad advert.

It's like Siri and Alexa having a conversation. "You can't be an official McDonald's page. *I* am the official McDonald's page." "No, I am an official page. And so are you." "Yes. I am the official page." "And so am I. For McDonald's Cyprus." "That's great! Would you give us permission to share your story?" "I already did give you permission." (and so on, and so forth)

So, Chick-fil-a has an anti-discrimination policy that they use. And it's 100% zero tolerance. The "homophobic" chicken place is probably the safest place for our queer brothers and sisters to work at, in fast food at least. I s**t you not.

"Do It" is the logo for Do It Best Hardware. They're a chain. Mildly confused by the Spanish though. Contractors don't use razor blades like this for shaving, they're super handy for scraping excess sealant off of freshly installed windows.

0€. And every medical information about me, is always only transmitted by me. The hospital gives their letters to me, and I give them to the Doctor I see fit, if I see fit. If I, for whatever reason, wouldn't - never happened so far - see fit, I simply keep the letter in my own records, which are the only complete issue whatsoever anyway. No company, no other person, no entity of any sort but me has the right to any of these data, and there are no exceptions to be made. Simple as that. How can I do that? I live in a 1st world country. Actually I don't know if it's changed under Trump but DEI efforts required you to ask this question, there would always be a I prefer not to answer option but a number of places that I applied years ago had notes on their page saying that they are required by law to ask the following demographic questions and that we are free to not answer them if we choose to. The companies would then gather all that data to try and see whether they were getting applicants from all the different demographics that exist in the area, because they want to encourage a more diverse workplace. I can't say that it was never a****d, I can only say that companies I worked for didn't a***e it, and in fact didn't include the information in the application that the manager got.

We’ve only got a genuine choice between HughesNet or Starlink here in rural/off-grid Hawaii. With HughesNet, we had latency issues and fastest dl was under 100Mbps. Now with Starlink, we have low latency in milliseconds & easily have download speeds near 300Mbps. It was a pretty penny buy the equipment for two accounts (stationary & mobile), but revolutionized how we use the internet. To be fair, I detest the billionaires behind both companies, so not gonna let that affect the choice I made.

"Yanny or Laurel is an auditory illusion that became popular in May 2018, in which a short audio recording of speech can be heard as one of two words", "BRRRT" is a meme from the sound of the massive rapid fire gun of the A10 ground attack aircraft. Farah City is the place of a taliban uprising that was quashed in blood by the Afghan security forces backed by US air support. The USAF here comes out as tone deaf despite thinking of being fun, edgy and relatable by linking the two things, while forgetting that the whole thing resulted in dozens of civilian casualties and over 20.000 refugees displaced from the city.

Before I start, yes, I'm old :). This reminds me of the commercials in the 60's for color TV's, touting the vibrancy, etc. They failed to realize many still had B&W TV's, and couldn't see the color, or had older color sets that couldn't display the vibrancy they were "showing". Even as a child in the single digits I knew this was nuts, and pointed it out to my friends and parents.

Ah, the innocent times when we thought of Assange as an herald of free press and information freedom. Turns out, HE WAS A RUSSIAN ASSET ALL ALONG. Leaked documents were traced back to a GRU team (Guccifer 2.0), specifically released to harm parties threatening Russian interest, while withholding material damaging to Russia. The DNC email hacks have been run by Russian GRU hackers and passed to Wikileaks by people linked to the GRU (proven in the Mueller Report). Wikileaks collaborators openly bragged on Russian newspapers about how they "joined forces" with Russian agencies. Assange in London was documented meeting regularly with known Russian agents and staff from Russia Today (a propaganda op), up to receiving USB drives a few days before "leaks" were dropped on the site. He has been on payroll of Russia Today since a 2012 propaganda op, even participated in some propaganda productions early in his career, and he held a Russian visa since 2011.

In the revised fourth draft of A New Hope in 1976, the description for "Kessel Run" is put as follows: "It's the ship that made the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs!" Ben reacts to Solo's stupid attempt to impress them with obvious misinformation. - It's not a misuse, Han is meant to be lying and trying to big himself up by using words that he's hoping Ben and Luke don't understand.

At least they’re honest when using the word ‘make’. In my experience men who want to see you smile want it to improve their own vista on the world. They don’t care at all how the woman actually feels.

Why? Don't buy it, if you don't like it. The reasons to stop torturing are a lot more valid and founded in reality. If omnivores can demand a right to cause suffering and damage, the last any sane person wants to her from them is any limitations thrown our way. Don't buy it. Silently, please, I have not asked to be informed about yours being fine with killing and suffering. Stop pestering, leave our products as alone as you can, and do so in silence, please.

On their more obscure shows and movies, Amazon's subtitles are sometimes VERY bad. Not just wrongly interpreting what's being spoken on screen, but also with timings that are way off. Although I supposed that's less of a problem now than it used to be, since speech-to-text algorithms have gotten a lot better in recent years.
