My sons white but has curly course hair and after about his first 4 haircuts, ive taken him to a black owned barber and hes about the only white kid that has a hair style in our area. All the boys at his school have the same great clips hair cut. Adorable, smart kids...im just saying you can tell Ive taken my littles to someone with a wider variety of skills and knowledge, which just also has always been a person of color.

I learned when you have a black child, you need to find a barber or stylist that is good at working with black hair. You can't just take that child to any old barber because they do not know what they are doing. On a side note, being the only white guy at a black salon is a lot of fun.

I just pictured myself in a sideways situation, going up to a friend who is about to get married and saying "Hey, so you know, my dad died a couple of years ago. He'll never be able to walk me down the aisle. I will never be able to experience the father-daughter dance with my own dad. It's unfair that you get to have a happy event with your own parents while I cry onto the urn with my dad's ashes inside of it. Therefore, I demand that you sit out of your own wedding and let ME walk down the aisle on your dad's arm and have the father-daughter dance with your dad." XD It's unhinged!

Really Amanda? When I see my girlfriend kicking a*s at her job I find it super s**y. Not in a gross h***y sort of way. It's not about actual s*x, it's about seeing somebody you love shine, and basking in their glow for a few moments. I'm sure your significant other feels the same way about you. My girlfriend has told me she feels the same way when she hears me on a work call. It's mesmerizing to see somebody really good at what they do. It's why we pay money to watch pros play sports. And to be clear, I work with women who are equally competent at their job as I am. I am not interested in them s******y or romantically.

Getting that done this young is a good move. A lot of insurance companies in the US require that you have a recorded history of back problems before they will cover such a surgery. But by then, the damage is done. Speaking as a middle aged man with chronic lower back issues, take care of your body when it's young, or it will take hurt you when you're older. As to the men commenting negatively about it, no need to be bothered by a bunch of Incel losers. Doesn't seem like she cares much what they think, so good for her.

Luckily I don't need you to trust me, but I am a man, and I would definitely consider myself a feminist. Not sure I'd lead with that as my dating profile, but I think anyone with a reasonable sense of justice would also be a feminist. But being a feminist is no more a virtue signal than it is a red flag, as it's basically simple matter of recognizing another person's humanity. I would say a man that claims their "feminism" makes them immune from impure thoughts is a red flag. I would also say that I'm a "nice guy", in that I get along with almost everyone. I don't judge people's choices, and I try to have compassion for everyone. But again, that's not a phrase I would use to signal my virtue. To me, the bigger red-flag from this guy was the use of therapy-speak, not his supposed feminism.

My parents neighborhood has a similar issue but it's mostly because young families are priced out. My parents bought their house for $90K. Today is valued at $950K. Most of the people buying homes there are older, or they are multigenerational families. Another big group are investors. They buy a place, tear it down and build a place twice the size of the original, then sell it for $1,5 - $2 million.

There are places I've lived where mosquito netting is required. You'd wake up in the middle of the night and the net would be covered with bugs. Some of them were little mosquitos. But you'd also get big boys the size of your forearm. Living in the jungle, I shared my house with bats, coati, iguanas, monkeys, even the occasional bird. The worst were the rats.

I'm a right awkward so-and-so when needed in all sorts of ways, some of which have included preventing my child doing things, and also preventing others doing things to them. Or... - well, I'm an awkward so-and-so: very hard to push around, literally or metaphorically. And I'm absolutely certain that "permissive parenting" the way I do it beats the other way of doing it.

BeesEelsAndPups: the term "permissive parenting" seems to be one created by authoritarian types who support child abúse - you know the sort of thing, punishing the child any time they do anything the adults don't fully support. As far as I can tell, that usage goes back to Dr Spock (no, not Star Trek) who was the first successful informed author to promote the idea of bringing up children in a way that was good for the children - so the authoritarian child abúsers attacked him (the ones who think it's a good idea to punish babies for crying). I'm a permissive parent, and to me the term means "permitting my child to explore and engage the world as they see fit, with me applying boundaries only when needed". My judgement has so far proven adequate. Don't even think about suggesting I'm a delinquent parent. My child behaves exceptionally well, in large part down to "permissive parenting" which includes me being a right awkward so-and-so when needed.
