My german Shepherd is a year old this month. He is almost paranormally smart. He saw me pick up his accident twice as a pup and I said Thats ok buddy let's try to do that outside. TWICE. I have never seen another accident in the house, he was 9 weeks lol. He knows about 25 words and can kind of say "I love you too" I have cancer and he has healed my soul. Just talking to him, he looks in my eyes and gives me kisses. little nibbles on my chin. Fuck chicken soup. Dogs are the best. (And cats, but I'm allergic. still have one though.

My local library started a program where you can "check out" a person for a 30-minute conversation to hear their life story. it's like human audiobooks and it's quietly the most wholesome thing happening in my zip code.
