Some celebrities achieve fame overnight. For others, it’s a slow rise to stardom. Regardless of how they get there, a massive fall from grace makes it very tough to get back up again. Getting embroiled in a scandal can mean the end of your career, and reputation.
We’ve seen our fair share of celebrities taken down by their own bad behavior this year. In September, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ billion-dollar empire came tumbling down as he found himself accused of serious allegations of abuse, trafficking, and physical violence. Claims against him continue to climb, while his reputation goes down the drain. Several other celebs are going down with him. Either by implication. Or purely by association. Then there are those who have nothing to do with Diddy, but have done a fine job of losing masses of fans due to their own actions.
Someone recently asked, “What celebrity have you lost respect for?” and the internet went wild. The post clocked up over 8,000 comments, as people shared their opinions on why they think certain A-listers deserve to be canceled. Bored Panda chatted to the person who asked the billion-dollar question, to find out what inspired it. We also put together a list of the most popular answers. The reason Tesla and SpaceX thrived was they had a group of staff whose entire job consisted of following Musk around and distracting him when he got an idea. He would soon forget the crazy thought and it allowed the people who actually knew what they were doing to get on with their jobs. Twitter did not know about this staff and the departments which would have created such a staff were the first ones Musk eliminated. And we can all see what happened to Twitter.
When EvilOdysseus asked, "What celebrity have you lost respect for?" they'd been pondering the question themselves for a while. For them, it's Jack Black. "He barely acts anymore. Just plays himself in every film. He even keeps his own mannerisms in films now," they told Bored Panda. They said they were surprised that "a few people said Mark Hamill, but I haven't seen them state a reason."
We asked what prompted them to ask the question online. "I realized how many celebrities recently are in the news for all the wrong reasons," they told Bored Panda during our short chat. "It's scandal after scandal with no repercussions."
And they aren't wrong. The world of the rich and famous has been rocked by a string of scandalous stories over the past few months. As it was last year, and the years before. Whenever we think we've seen it all, it just gets even worse. We were curious to know what EvilOdysseus would say to celebrities behaving badly. "There's no point in giving a message to any celebrity. They don't care about us," was the curt reply.

What people don't realise about Scientology is how much of its teachings are bastardised versions of ancient esoteric teachings, particularly Rosicrucian, Freemasons, Zoroastrian, even Buddhist, Christian and Sikh. Hubbard knew what he was doing, he researched just like he did with his Sci fi fiction and he peppered the teaching with rules and controls that become more rigid and impossible to escape as you progress. The money you pay? After you have invested a certain amount it becomes a matter of pride and you refuse to accept you have been conned. The final outrageous revelation about the alien stuff has got to be him having a laugh at the gullibles expense.

This guy was always inflated, inflated ego because those in the industry thought he was so talented. Inflated sense of self importance because of the former. I know I'm an old man, and his "stuff" doesn't appeal to me in the least, but I saw Aretha Franklin probably 25 years ago, she performed something that was either written or produced by him and to be perfectly honest it sucked. So, even before it hit the fan I didn't think he was all that. There is a kinda comical side to all of the hoopla, the people who were his friends and party buds are running in circles trying to cover their @sses since all this came down but that $hit didn't happen in a vacuum. Those people thought that would never get out and were very comfortable taking part in it.

I thought Sharon Osbourne was at least somewhat amusing until she recounted on a TV show, for laughs, how she maltreated Ozzy's assistant for refusing to run into their burning house to save some art pieces.
If you think *that*'s awful, wait, there's more. The assistant actually risked injury or death by saving the couple's dogs (but not their art) from the inferno. When the fire brigade arrived and gave him oxygen, a piqued Ms. Osbourne objected. She ripped off the oxygen mask *and put it on her dog*.
When he later mentioned he possibly sustained damage to his lungs, she fired him for (in her words) "not having a sense of humor."

She told this story on a British quiz show called Would I lie to you? so I'd take that with a pinch of salt because the purpose of the show is to tell crazy and shocking stories. I'm not saying none of it happened but given the premise of the show I suspect there was a lot of embellishing going on. She later said that she didn't fire her assistant until several years after the fire and for something unrelated.

She always came off as being fake as s**t, then there was the never ending onslaught of fad diets, Dr. Phil, Dr.Oz, Jenny McCarthy and reigniting the anti-vaxxer b******t. The "audience giveaways" that still required recipients to PAY THE TAXES upfront (for the car thing it was like $7000) or forfeiting the gift. But who cares bout that? Already filmed the episode! Just one terrible thing after another, for DECADES.....and than, during covid she made a BFD about donating $10 million.....and at the time was worth $4.5 billion. Sheldon says the best course of action for celebrities who find themselves in hot water is to "release one short, considered statement or message, which genuinely reflects the state of play for the individual in question." The expert adds that the statement "may include a rebuttal or apology, depending on the scandal, as long as it is a genuine reflection." Sheldon cautions that less is more. "It may be appropriate to suspend public channels in some cases, following the message," she said.

I've never in my life understood people who go mental when they encounter a "celebrity". I've been around a few in my life, and many of them have commented that they're pleasantly surprised that I speak to them/treat them like they were just normal people. I usually respond that's because they *are* just normal people who happened to have succeeded in their chosen career, much like I have. Mine just wasn't as flashy.

After hearing about when he was younger, Mark Wahlberg literally committed hate crimes and even beat a Vietnamese man within an inch of his life. It is very right that he should not be given a pass for that behaviour, but teenagers are still children, often driven by the challenges and prejudice they grew up with. The harm he caused was very real and should be acknowledged, but forgiveness is not the same as dismissal.

This doesn't actually explain what he has been accused of. He's been accused of SA by five different women. They have all been interviewed on a podcast called "Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman" by Tortoise Media. Fair warning, it gets rough. Two of them were in their early 20s while he was in his 60s and one of those as a live-in nanny who alleges he assaulted her within hours of their first meeting. Another woman alleges she was extorted for s3xual favours in return for being allowed to live in one of his houses with her daughters and as soon as she stopped complying they were kicked out. The women have documents proving their relationships to him and Gaiman has denied all allegations, aside from a gr0ping incident he claims was a misunderstanding. He is currently subject to a criminal complaint from two of the women in New Zealand.

I think he'd already peaked anyway. His last couple specials were awful. I found myself feeling annoyed listening to them. When your reaction to a comedy bit is "Ok, you've been joking about something barely funny in the first place for 15 f*****g minutes, give it a rest", you know something's wrong. The other problem is he got away with saying awful things, like saying he could jerk off while watching kids at recess, or using racial slurs, because everyone assumed he was a liberal, so everyone knew they were just jokes. He was brilliant at that. Those jokes don't work very well anymore. Now all his fans are those guys who say something awful and then when people call him out, says "Hey, I was just joking, jeez nobody has a sense of humour anymore!"

It was s****y to give those character references to someone who was a convicted rapist and they deserved the flack they got for it. But if you read the details, Masterson's mother reached out and basically begged them to write a character letter about the positive things they knew about him. They'd known each other for almost 20 years or, at least, thought they knew him. Even serial killers can hide who they are...it doesn't mean the people in their lives don't still grieve for the loss of the relationship. It was more of a kindness done for his family. I wish they hadn't done it, but I can understand why.

I never had a strong opinion on her to begin with, but I had always figured she was a nice person as I know her and Ryan have done a lot of philanthropic things. But she handled all of that press tour soooooo poorly and then never addressed the accusations against her directly.

Her impression skills are pretty good. To me it always seems like she has an unsettled soul. Like, she is a little lost. I think she needs to take a step back and do some reflecting on her identity. But that of course is just the opinion of someone who has never met this human in real life. She used the shooting tragedy at her concert to detract from the video they found of her licking food at a public restaurant and talking about how much she hated Americans. She's had affairs with at least 2 married men--not just her fault of course but still gross. She fat-shames her brother. She joked once about dressing up for Halloween as jonbenet ramsey all bloodied and bruised up (for reference, she was a child who was raped and murdered). Pete Davidson once talked about how, after they broke up, she told everyone publicly that he had a big d**k when he doesn't. She played it off as a compliment but she knew what she was doing. Now every women he's with is going to be disappointed and he joked it was kind of a genius move. But it was embarrassing and the double standard was alive and well--if he went out an talked about her vagina in public people would be outraged. I mean...she seems like a funny girl to hang out with and she's a fantastic singer but not a great person.

The easiest and smartest thing I can say about it is that " THEY NEED YOU MORE THAN YOU NEED THEM" . If you are unhappy with them and their wealth and attitudes, speak up through your wallet. Honestly if you don't contribute to them making more money by making their movies successful, they are less likely to get more work. Less work means a lot of them eventually fade away and if they aren't smart with their money,they end up just like us regular people, with regular jobs and you won't hear anything from them anymore

It's not only that he went from this purveyor of mild and inoffensive humor to alleged sexual harasser, it's the way he handled it. Instead of saying, I understand that my actions could be misconstrued and I will work to make sure that I maintain a more proper relationship with the young women in my employ, he just said sure I did a few things, but everybody does those things and that's not really harassment.

I'm not defending him because it's a bit of a weird thing to do, but from what I've read he wasn't 100% serious, she knew about it and she's explained she wasn't forced into pregnancy. They'd already decided they were going to start trying. It's just a shame that it kind of mocked couples where one of them may have been forced, considering they both claim to be supportive of womans rights etc.

They'd talked about it over dinner then he went upstairs, into her bag and popped each pill put one by one. It force her to come off BC earlier than planned, on holiday so she couldn't easily get more, and mid-cycle. If you've never had to come off BC midcycle, it can really mess your hormones up for months after. She only knew about it after he did it. Scumbag move.

This pisses me off so much because people like to claim it was some sort of coercive control when BOTH agreed they would start trying for a baby. Nikki has said multiple times that she knew the whole time he was going t do it and encouraged it, laughing the whole time. It was an agreement that they were celebrating, and are clearly both still ok with considering they’ve been married 8 or so years now with 2 kids. You wanna respect women? Respect Nikki when she says she is ok with it.

I've heard a few posts (Reddit usually) on here re: tampering/throwing out Birth Control pills..... women should get implants instead, to protect themselves - they last 5 years, and you can have it taken out whenever you want. If you're in an abusive/controlling relationship that you're trying to get out of (I've heard it can be traumatic and difficult for many), you don't even have to tell them you have it.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. I can’t take a man seriously that has a contract for producers to agree on to have him win fights in movies he’s in. He’s not a good actor to be having any say on how stories should be told. Every movie he’s in as always f*****g bad, and yet ppl keep putting him in movies. He’s very disingenuous about his humanitarian efforts, his teaming up with Oprah Winfrey ask US to donate when both people have money to help the fires in Hawaii for a tax write off and us to supplement themselves. In interviews he doesn’t say anything that we don’t already know bout him. I want to like him but he takes himself too seriously for a guy that is so f*****g unserious.

Well, he did donate $10 million of his own funds to the Hawaii fire victim's fund. The fact that he asked others to donate a few bucks each does not negate the fact that he did that. Just because he has more money does not make that an insignificant amount 🤷🏼♀️

He also has businesses. So he has things to fall back on if his acting career ends. He has done some good movies. Yes he has pigeon holed himself into a certain kind of role but he definitely has other options still. I know that even now if he wanted to take a break that he could walk right back into WWE easily. He's on the board of TKO WWEs parent company. Majority of his family is on the roster right now,both male and female. He's already part of a current storyline despite only popping up for it once in a while. He doesn't even have to take part in matches all the time. Even if the storyline ends,he has the option of staying with either the male members that are part of it separately or managing the female ones or helping his daughter on the NXT roster.

Conor Mcgregor. He was treated like a god. He's been found guilty of rape in a civil court in Ireland and been ordered to pay his victim just shy of €250k. I definitely think he did it, he's come across as someone who thinks they can do what they like and the rules don't apply to him for years. His victim gave a statement outside the courtroom and she looked broken and I've no doubt she's telling the truth.
