If that device he's reaching for "shuts the electricity in the store in case of an emergency" I wonder if that guy is also willing to take the full blame if his actions lead to some unfortunate event caused by the electricity shutdown?

Besides whatever Elon Musk is saying, the pronouns are about a very subtle discussion. I don't think anyone can claim pronouns, changes in language are given by the masses. The discussion on transsexuality etc is not about pronouns but about being who you want to be and the rest of the world leaving you at it. But. That goes only as long as what you want to be has no further influence on daily lives. And this is important. Within that discussion, even people who feel they are affected themselves can't find one point of view (because they focus on their personal situation). I don't like forcing the world around you to jump through hoops if all you want is to be accepted as a person. Acceptance does not come through making up an imaginary perfect world and claiming that be the only real place. Acceptance is a two way street. How in the world is anyone able to know what pronouns to use if there is no clear distinction? The answer is simple, we stop differentiating completely. But that's my two cents that I just hope will be the future.

No one desinfects everything because we cannot live in a sterile environment. We need lots of them bugs to stay healthy. On the other hand I one saw a class mate of my then preschooler with the same reusable drinking bottle as my kid. It had actual fungus in the mouth piece... It's not just not knowinghow to clean, it's more the not getting what is dangerous and what parts are more important to clean... Like drinking bottles...

@ the redqueen, but just that, if for some reason she's not able to normally use her legs, then of course by all means. But. At one point she's telling a story of two elderly people following her into the store to see what's up. So that kinda indicates there's nothing to be seen. But again. She has good reason to have that card. It's just that, on that good day with everything going fine, I would be happy to not having to use that card that day. What rubs me is the way she tells the story, but at the same time there is no doubt people should mind their own business. But just because she is in her right, doesn't make it ok to, at any point, feel sorry for yourself. She calls it bullying, when in fact it's mostly people that are just uneducated. It's just very personal in how I would handle this myself. I would take it that these people want to do the right thing and in the meantime understand there are a lot of stupid people actually misusing those handicapped spots.

Exactly. The whole purpose of the tag to begin with. I understand being divided on her response, though. And it does make logical sense. But....a lot of people have problems with their prosthetic legs; they rub and chafe the skin where they attach, develop sores- it becomes extremely painful, and some can only wear them for a certain amount of time. Every step can become excruciating. Was she able to walk around the store? Or did she have to use a scooter? Did she just put them on? Or has she had them on all day, and her skin is raw? Or, do they even bother her at all? Is she a lucky one, who can afford the ones that cost thousand? I had no clue about this problem, until I watched a documentary last week. Probably would have agreed she could have walked from a normal spot. But this is exactly the point: just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there. Just food for thought, that's all

My feelings toward whether she actually needs it mirrors yours, I think. The only time I've ever said anything to someone about parking in a handicap spot was it was a co-worker who was bragging that they were parking in handicap because they borrowed their grandma's car and their grandma was handicap. If I cared about handicap parking, (tbh, its not high on my list) I'd report the car to the police and let them handle it.
