I get the use for extremely anxious dogs - but as a dog owner it is my responsibility to create a safe environment and make the house dog prove so I do not need to lock up my pet in a small cage They are not used here in Europe we just train and exercise out dogs - if you walk your dogs twice a day (not let it out in the backyard - walk/exercise - especially huskies I hope they can run a couple of hours Daily ) most of them will not destroy stuff because they are board and under exercised

You do NOT train it like this. This poor dog had to have been really anxious to get the bottom out and wander all over the house! This is stressful and will only guarantee that in the future, the dog will not associate this crate with safety and comfort. THAT would be the goal, for dog to like the crate and feel safe. (Although honestly, I'd prefer it if the dog would feel safe and comfortable in the HOUSE and not in a cage)

I don't understand it either.. here in Germany this would also be seen as animal cruelty. We train our dogs different, to not pee in the house or scratch/bite things. Apart from discipline in training we have so called "dog schools". Never met anybody putting their dogs in a crate

True, but if people can't be with their dog most of the time or provide an alternative such as daycare/friend or family/dog sitter, they should think very long and hard about getting a dog. They are social animals and shouldn't be left for long. You can't work 9-5 and leave a dog alone every day and if you have no other option or can't afford it, please be sensible. Even if you come home to a house that's not been chewed up it really isn't fair to a dog, they get bored and lonely. A dog shouldn't be seen as something that you hope will fit in around your existing lifestyle, you have to accommodate them and their needs.

Talk to your vet. There are medications for anxiety this severe. Desensitizing works too, but can take a long time. This poor baby needs help learning to cope. Confining them protects the house, but it doesn't calm the dog. Poor love.
