I was adopted as a baby. The state I live in has a program that facilitates bio mom/child reunions. I signed up and was told to write a letter to bio mom, which was then discreetly given to her. She didn't want to meet and she didn't want any identifying info given to me. She did supply some medical history and some other none identifying info. She told the social worker that she was afraid of her husband finding out, so possibly in an abusive situation. So I don't think that identifying info on bio mom should be accessed if bio mom has not expressly consented to it. If we want to give women choices we should also give them the choice to stay anonymous. Besides, we don't know what the consequences for bio mom would be if the people in her life found out. Although I'm sure DNA ancestry websites are getting around the government's attempt at protecting bio mom's privacy.

I get the idea of what they are trying to say in this tweet, but it doesn't sit right with me. Those "424,000" children in foster care are actual human beings who deserve more consideration than being used for snark value or a flippantly offered solution that is meant to shame the weirdos with the creepy "we'll adopt your baby" signs. I'm not sure if I'm expressing my thoughts very clear. I know what I mean but putting it in words isn't always my strong suit

Seriously, just don't invest thousands of dollars into a huge wedding. There is so much pressure for everything to be fairy-tale perfect and it won't be. You can't control everything but especially the weather and OTHER PEOPLE. I had a huge wedding first and a simple ceremony the second time around. You can have something beautiful with a small ceremony. Maybe in a beautiful public park or a swanky hotel, invite immediate family and/or a few of your closest friends. Nice dress but not wedding gown and no bridesmaids dresses to worry about. Hire a photographer and and officiant, and have a bouquet of flowers. Make reservations for a nice restaurant for everyone afterwards. Still spending a little money but not breaking the bank and because of the simplicity you won't be a nervous wreck.
