They put me in mind of chopines, which were very high platform type shoes worn during the Renaissance to keep expensive silk brocade skirts clean when out in the sometimes flooded and/or muddy, and always horse poop and garbage filled streets of Venice. Look them up, they're pretty cool, though dangerous looking.

If you’ve ever watched a haute couture fashion show, scrolled through a list of fashion fails on Bored Panda, or seen images of some awfully funny-looking shoes, you've probably wondered why these things were created in the first place. All these funny shoes, weird dresses, and pieces of garments we can’t comprehend just aren’t meant to be worn! Yes, you read that right. All these unusual clothes aren’t created with practicality in mind, and all the haute couture (literally high fashion in French) fashion shows are for expressing creativity and pushing the boundaries of conventional fashion design. In a nutshell, all these crazy clothes and stupid-looking shoes are actually walking artworks! And that’s why we often find them so unexpected and are quick to label them as unsightly, simply because we cannot imagine wearing them.

Hell no. You'd have to take off your shoe to get your stuff out. Which means balancing on one foot in front of the mirror or standing barefoot in some filthy bathroom at a club. Then you get out, it's rainy and you step into a puddle, turning all your make-up into mush. What's wrong with a handbag?

You do this when you have a skin condition and you have to put special cream on. Then you wrap the body part in plastic wrap to help the cream soak into the skin.

This looks like they are wearing 2 pairs at one time. I have a pair of toed water shoes very similar to the blue in this picture. Maybe they just slide their feet into the birkenstocks to walk on dry land?

IDK what's the worst on this. The toe nails that'll rip your nutsack off if she ever gives you a feetie, the awful fat ham-for-leg or the shoes themselves.
