the us citizens that think universal healcare is bad are usually older generations who had everything cheaper and now have retirement. The younger generation, for the most part, are begging our government for cheaper or free healthcare.

People don't have actual logical arguments about this, backed by any sort of relevant data. They just have feelings and fears about "socialism". Sorry, but many of my fellow Americans have just bought into the propaganda and have lost any ability they once had for critical thinking long ago.

The majority of us hate our current healthcare system. Unfortunately it's a for profit system and that isn't likely to change anytime soon. Anything good for us typically has opposition from the very people that would benefit from it the most.

Of course it would be cheaper but some of us are afraid of socialism and those in charge get kick backs from the health care industry. and the people afraid of socialism keep voting for them.

Because the insurance companies would lose money. The corporations run this country.

Back when the annual health care spending was $3.4 trillion during the 2020 election, the most optimistic UHC plan proposed pegged spending at $28 trillion over 10 years (a 17.5% cost reduction) 4 years later, health care spending increased to $5.3 trillion with $2 trillion of that stemming from the Medicare and medicaid government programs, and $260 billion of that spending is directly related to obesity borne illness. Projections place expenditures at over $7 trillion by the end of the decade (and the cost of obesity to be $400 billion) Those that would benefit from UHC....expect "the rich" to foot the bill, and those that would not benefit, don't want to subsidize the health care costs of tens of millions of people with self inflicted health issues, nor do they want to endure being faced with weeks long wait times for appointments, or the proposition of having to sit in emergency rooms for half a day for minor issues. You’d want to be darn fit in some parts of San Francisco

I'm not. lot of good biking spots here. And unlike public transportation, this isn't necessarily something you have to invest in for it to be a thing. Now if we had to actually INVEST in good biking spots...

San Francisco is far from being the most bike friendly city in the states. It is usually Portland or Minneapolis (the idiots there bike year round).

Yeah I was honestly surprised Antwerp even made this list, let alone the top #3. It doesn't feel bike-friendly whatsoever.

God I envy that. For a good portion of our summer it never dropped below 32°C (~90°F) and there was a week or two where it it was consistently above 43°C (~110°F).. And then when we finally got rain it flooded, badly 😂
