Kelly married the R&B singer shortly after the song was recorded. Aaliyah was 15 while he was 27. Her parents found out and had the marriage annulled. It had illegally listed Aaliyah's age as 18.
Aaliyah died in a plane crash a few years later. But for the next two decades, Kelly was accused of preying on teenage girls in the entertainment industry. The predator was finally pinned down, found guilty of a range of sickening crimes. And sent to jail for thirty years.
But Kelly isn’t the only famous person who got away with disgusting behavior for far too long. As Redditor u/Pranav_p_n found out when they asked people to name creepy celebs who have hidden behind their fame.

What do Charlie Chaplin and Charles Dickens have in common? It’s a lot more sinister than just their first names. Or their classic celebrity status. Both adult men were in relationships with very young girls. Both got them pregnant before they turned 16. It was a primitive “practice” that wasn’t always frowned upon back in the day.

The exact purpose of signing such a release is to give consent to publication of the photos taken. And this distracts attention from the dozens - hell, hundreds - of truly sleazy indefensible things Hefner went on to do.

The trial was dropped because she refused to testify most likely due to her name being leaked. They did reach a settlement which seems to indicate he was guilty. Just so aggravating that he skated by punishment and people forget what he did and make him a hero and bury this part of his past.

Unchained partnered with Quest Research & Investigations, Kroll, Quantitative Analysis, and McGill University to investigate how many child brides there are in America. The researchers got hold of marriage-certificate data from various U.S. states. And checked the ages of everyone that tied the knot between 2000 and 2018. They published this study in the Journal Of Adolescent Health. And revealed some disturbing facts that many might not even be aware of.

From what i know about his trials things were not as conclusive as they seemed. Lots of kids came out saying their parents made them lie. Including another child actor the one form home alone. I think the dude was suffering form some f****d up trauma and wanted to relive his childhood. I mean it is still sick but not pedo kind of sick more mentally insane kind of sick. I'm kind of bothered by some of the language used to describe the very young girls who were being exploited, or to describe what happened to them. As well, I'm bothered by the language used regarding ADULT women, in which the adults are being infantilized with condescending language, as if an adult can't make their own decisions, in a way that's rarely done with men in their 20s. If an adult woman wants to date an older man, that's her right as an adult. Some of the language in this article is disturbingly misogynistic.

I'm kind of bothered by some of the language used to describe the very young girls who were being exploited, or to describe what happened to them. As well, I'm bothered by the language used regarding ADULT women, in which the adults are being infantilized with condescending language, as if an adult can't make their own decisions, in a way that's rarely done with men in their 20s. If an adult woman wants to date an older man, that's her right as an adult. Some of the language in this article is disturbingly misogynistic.
