With my previous kitty, possession was 9/10ths of the law when it came to my office chair. If I got there first and she wanted to curl up behind me, she would tolerate all the rolling and swiveling I did to work. If she got there first, she would tolerate me sitting with her, but if I tried to roll or swivel, she would bite my b*m.

My cat was like this although her fur was more dramatically discordant than this one's (I liked to describe it as like an explosion in a paint factory, rather than a blending of patterns she had solid patches of this that and the other). She even had a litter with three similarly coloured kittens (although the grey one was darker).

Once sat for a cat that was terrified of strangers, so she was nowhere in sight. I prepared her food, cleaned the litter box, then made believe I left (opened/closed the door) while I hid with a view to her food bowls. Sure enough, she came out of hiding once she thought I'd left. Used that strategy for the entire week.

During a previous in-depth interview, Bored Panda reached out to cat specialist and clinical animal behaviorist, Sally Chamberlain. She was kind enough to share her wisdom and answer our questions about feline behavior.
She shared that cats tend to be alluring to so many people because of their large eyes, cute faces, quirky behavior, and the sleek, nimble way in which they move.
“Much of their behavior comes from their ancestry as solitary hunters of small prey. Because of this, their behavior can often seem mysterious and funny to humans because we are a very different species, even when they are exhibiting normal feline behavior such as wiggling their bottom when they are about to pounce on a toy or climbing up the curtains, it can be amusing,” Chamberlain explained to Bored Panda earlier.

we found a tiny black kitten abandoned in a car park. carried at home, and homing her with other six cats founded around in the years... after checked by vets, and let her on one of our sofas, we started our dinner. at the end, we passed a couple of hours to find the kitten, being afraid she can be escaped on the roofs of our houses in town trough a little window left open, missing her ... at about two AM, I heard scratching and whining a cat, and after another hour of search and rescue, we found her in a hidden space in kitchen furniture, impossible to reach impossible to reach except by a half-kg kitten... 💖💖💖💖💖💖

If i was you,, probably would check that all my affairs are in order, life insurance is up to date and most importantly, kiss and tell my love ones that I love them...before going to bed, because you never know, you might not wake up the next day

“The way a cat behaves has to be taken into context. I was sitting in the vet office waiting for two of my cats to get their vaccinations (my Dragon Age littermates, Rook and Lucanis.) One of the vets came out into the waiting room to talk to another customer, an older lady who looked very well-coiffed and put-together, basically your typical Southern Californian wealthier lady. I expected to overhear an elegant or fancy pet name, perhaps Conchetta or Violette. Nope, the vet said "So, Dee-oh-gee and Ricky Bobby both did well..." XD Of course, I was there with two cats named after video game characters, so I can't judge!

Chamberlain explained to Bored Panda that most feline behavior is purposeful so that they get necessities like food, shelter, and water.
“Cats are usually at their funniest when they are playing and have ‘mad half-hours’ when they run around like crazy. This is the best time to offer a cat some play, ideally with a wand toy so that human hands and feet don’t become a target,” the expert told us earlier.
According to the cat specialist, one myth about felines is that they are ‘evil’ or bring ‘bad luck.’ This is both outdated and untrue.
“As I’m sure any cat lover will tell you, cats can be very loving and affectionate. When they’re not, we need to try to understand what they are telling us and provide them with appropriate care, resources and enrichment to ensure that their needs are being met,” she said.

Cats can suffer from separation anxiety when they are not with their humans in the same way that dogs do. The main difference between the social bond between dogs and cats and their humans is that dogs have been purposefully bred to look to humans for guidance and attention, especially in breeds designed to work with humans, such as gun dogs, guard dogs and sight hounds, whereas cats are only partially domesticated, having almost domesticated themselves in the Fertile Crescent in the Middle East thousands of years ago,” she said.

I'm not sure this is technically a calico male (who would indeed be XXY.) I think this is actually a case of chimerism or mosaicism. The tabby bits of him look tabby, not calico or tortie - there's a very clear delineation between the tabby bits and the tuxedo bits. He'd need to be DNA-tested to find out for sure, though XD

We have radiators in our old house. I grew up in old houses with radiators, so I love them. Anyway, our cats just love to sleep on them when it’s cold outside. So we put fleeces on them to make them softer and more comfortable.

I had a big orange cat that was named Bob at the spca. I called him bubbles instead cause when he purred he'd drool until spit bubbles formed. They called him Bob for big orange boy and it did fit, I just liked bubbles more. He became my grannies cat eventually by virtue of her being the only thing on earth he loved besides food, sleep, and a nice warm sunny spot to lay un.

I wish I could like this at least a dozen times. Our shelters are overflowing with animals, especially cats. Matter of fact just today the police had confiscate over 30 cats from one homeowner's home. Crazy.

Some jerk dumped older kittens in our neighborhood this week. One boy has been hanging out at our house so we feed/water him and let him sleep on the porch. We already have 4 cats, all spayed females, and they don't seem to mind him. Do I need a 5th cat? No, I do not. But, here we are with a 5th cat. And, before you ask, I do not know where the others are. Neighbor saw them on her Ring one time, but not again. We'll get him neutered soon.

I know how you feel - I adopted three kittens last year when I moved back home (two littermates, one singleton.) I already had an older cat, a 9-year-old void girl, so I had a house full of 4 cats! At the end of May, when my three adopted kittens were around 8 months old, my cat-loving dog found two tiny feral kittens in my backyard. Long story short, now I have 6 cats, and my dog is in heaven XD

One of my cats has arthritis and can't easily jump up on the bed, so she meows at me but whenever I go to pick her up she looks completely affronted and moves away. As soon as I have successfully picked her up and put her on the bed she couldn't be happier.

I don't think I call my cats or dogs by their "real names" more than one out of every ten times XD Fenring is Fen, Dringus, Dingus, etc., Stilgar is Stilly, Stiggle, Lord Stillington, Stiggins, etc., Preacher is Peepee, Peps, Lenny the Pep, Peeparino, Peepacher, Peepah, Funk Master P, so on... XD

I have told this story before: my cat showed up. I posted lost cat, etc. Just coukdnt believe they would not want her back: she is spayed, trained ( no vounter junping ). I didnt want to get attached, so i called her " cat". No she wint sbswer to anything else. I lied to the vet and said it was short for Lady Catherine.
