Brazilian Street Artist @fabiogomestrindade Creates Murales With Women And Children Portraits Wearing The Branches Of Trees As “Hair”
I've seen this a few times, it's incredible. I wonder what it's like in the winter?
Behind the page is Ali Traibiz, a 26-year-old digital marketing and social media marketing expert. "My passion for modern design drives me to curate and showcase content that highlights the beauty and innovation of contemporary spaces," he tells Bored Panda. "Alongside my professional journey, I'm also an athlete, which instills discipline and creativity in all aspects of my life."
"Running 'Call It Design' has been an incredible experience," Ali shares. "[It allows] me to merge my love for design with my expertise in building online communities. Watching this community grow and connect over shared interests has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey."
Stunning Door Design
This Library Left Us Speechless
Does anybody else get the feeling that, when you see a really cool place, that all you want to do is touch everything? Literally knock on wood, run your hand across the spines of books, stuff like that?
If it's the building I think it is, it's 1930s, which is still "modern"
Load More Replies...It’s the Munich municipal law library. You’d hardly think it, but it’s real.
Load More Replies...Ali has been running the "Call It Design" page for four years now. We were curious to know the secret behind the Internet Magazine's longevity. "When I first started 'Call It Design,' it was simply a passion project," Ali told us. "A place where I could gather and showcase the kinds of design that I personally found inspiring."
"Over the years, what's kept it going strong is the genuine connection it has with the audience. I think the secret lies in staying true to a few core principles: consistency, creativity, and community." The 149k followers the page garnered through the years may not be massive, but it's all about quality, not quantity, right?
The Door By Ernest Delune
Isn't Art Nouveau part of the modernist movement though? The post doesn't say "contemporary".
Load More Replies...Actually, yes. Anything much after that is "contemporary"
Load More Replies...A Cozy And Warm Spot
*struggles to free hand from under scrummage of snoozing cats and dogs to turn page in book*
Load More Replies...If I had the means to retire young/not work, I wouldn't waste money on huge houses, "fancy" cars, "designer" clothes, cosmetic surgery.... I'd want a lil cabin with a nook like this, and so many books...and painting supplies..and a fireplace.. and soo many rescue cats
Stunning Pool Art Design!
Imagine this with underwater lights; like being immersed in "Starry, Starry Night"...
Load More Replies...AS a swimmer, I think that would be dangerous as it is hard to determine where the concrete actually is.
My mom resurfaced our pool with this weird pebbly-texture stuff a couple of decades ago. It was pretty - it made the bottom of the pool look like it was covered in a mixed mosaic of tiny pebbles. And it was a NIGHTMARE for swimming. You couldn't tell where the steps were. You couldn't tell where the bottom sloped up at the edges. You couldn't tell where the depth changed. It was horrible XD plus it had a rough texture and I'm sure you can imagine how THAT felt on wrinkly-wet feet after a bit of swimming/pool-time. My mom had the pool redone (AGAIN) about 10 years ago and went back to a normal smooth plaster coat XD I imagine this Starry Night pool, while gorgeous, is similar to the pebble-coating on our pool - like you said, VERY hard to see any landmarks in the pool. Personally I'd have painted an edging line (in white or bright yellow) on the edge of the steps at the very least.
Load More Replies...The Van Gogh starry night has been so poorly reproduced everywhere that I don't know what they find stunning, frankly.
Ali also explained what he considers to be good modern design. "I've always believed that great design is about more than just aesthetics—it's about the stories that these designs tell, the emotions they evoke, and how they make spaces (and lives) function better."
"Every post I share aims to strike that balance between beauty and practicality, and I think that's what has helped 'Call It Design' resonate with so many people over time. Design trends may change, but the love for something that truly works—on both a functional and emotional level—remains constant," Ali believes.
Bunk Bed Inspiration
I’ve seen this here before and always upvote. Such a cool idea- especially for dorm room
That top one has no rail.... imagine if you're a restless sleeper? (😳 Yep, I'm a pessimist by nature, sorry)
All that other stuff aside, how do you get into it, pole vault? There's no place to hook a ladder.
Creative Door Hinge
Gorgeous Door Design
Looking at that for longer than a couple of seconds makes my eyes hurt. My brain sees the star points as moving outward, and freaks out because it wants to follow them all at the same time.
Interesting. The movements along the arrow points is inward, for me. Still discombobulating, though.
Load More Replies...The carpenter definitely had a much harder time working on it than its designer.
Traibiz says that the support and comments from the page's followers also motivate him to keep the account going. "The feedback from the audience has been a source of motivation to keep curating content that not only inspires but also creates conversations around design choices," he shares.
Folding Loft Stairs With Access To Washing Machine
Excellent. It may also prevent the washing machine from moving when spinning.
It should never move if it’s been installed and balanced correctly, according to my repairman the other day.
Load More Replies...I just hope whoever's in the loft check for the presence of stairs before starting down.
I'm just here for the second picture to see how the hell you get to the washing machine.
Having had to recently replace the pump in my washing machine, which requires back and side access, which in this picture would require complete removal of the wooden fixings, this looks like hell
All the comments about repair and service are good, but front load washers need to have the door left open to dry or else they get funky. Is there enough clearence to do that?
Load More Replies...A nice idea, however you'd be sucking in your elbows so they don't hit the steps or the side pieces.
If someone is quickly running down the stairs, they'll break a neck or two though
Not a fan. I can hear the wood plank falling on my head if it's not fixed well
I imagine it is fixed well. A person would only have to be injured by this falling on their head once to come up with a solution to prevent it from happening again
Load More Replies...That looks like it would swiftly become a pain in the aß if you need to get into the loft frequently.
Using the washer or dryer usually only takes a minute or so, just put the stairs back when you’re done taking 30 seconds to start the washing machine and you’ll be fine
Load More Replies...Cozy Place With Green Fresh View!
It's nice, don't get me wrong, we love our solarium, but be prepared to deal with a frustrating amount of bird s**t lol. Nothing like enjoying the lovely view slightly marred by poops. 🤣 Yes, it gets cleaned a lot, but we may have thought better about adding it had we really thought it through because our house is surrounded by so many trees.
Load More Replies...Awesome space, but I'm pretty sure they stole the couch on the left directly out of my grandma's house
Mountain Cabin In Austria
I always say if I get to build a house I'd do floor to ceiling windows with a big ole custom cat tree.
Load More Replies...Now this is something that would never get old to wake up to every morning. 😍😍🥰
Of course, each post resonates with different people. We asked Ali which design styles—the more minimalist, Scandinavian designs or maximalist spaces—his audience responds to the most. "The audience response to various design styles is one of the most fascinating parts of running this page," Ali admits.
Bookshelf
*bats all the books off the shelves and gets cosy*
Load More Replies...Bookshelf for people who see books as decor. Not very practical for people who have books for reading.
I wonder how long it would take my cats to have every book on the floor.
I think so too. Too many places where the books should be falling off, and there are books leaning against a wispy plant
Load More Replies...Nope. Found it on Etsy. They’re each custom made so you can’t get this one, but they’ll build you something like it. This, but with level shelves would look just as interesting, but also be a lot more functional.
Load More Replies...Imagine Taking This Magical Train Ride Through Alaska!
It's very pretty, too. Aeroplane dropdown tables! We have tables between ours (UK), and they're pretty spacious overall. All the interiors differ (colourwise, mostly). This image is a London to Edinburgh train. london-edi...055a10.jpg
Not just Alaska. Almost anywhere in the countryside or mountainous areas would be wonderful.

In Love With This Awesome Woodworking Art
I forgot I had to have this critical and questional look
Load More Replies...Trouble is, it isn't what it says it is. It's composite moulded, not carved or even heated/twisted into shape.
Hopefully used good, strong glue for those strips of wood veneer. . .!
Steaming and laminating several layers of thin sliced wood. Time consuming and beautiful. This woodworker specializes in this: https://youtu.be/AG10aZASOtU?si=wVGo84qyVYReJkmP
"Minimalist and modern styles, with their clean lines and focus on simplicity, always garner a lot of attention," the creator says. "I think people are drawn to the idea of decluttering and the peace that comes with a minimalist space. It's a style that gives you room to breathe, both physically and mentally, and that's something people crave in our fast-paced world."
Custom Made Wrapping Barn Door
As someone who works in the millwork industry this is absolutely amazing. But also i hope nobody sees this because we cant make this in our shop.
I have built similar things that a client spotted on the Internet. It's rare, but I will do it, but make sure they understand it's not going to be cheap.
Load More Replies...It blocks off that part of the house. We don't have anything like this, but we do have doors we can close to block free access to our entire house when needed. We have a lot of pets, and on occasions when we have people over for holidays or barbecue (people going in & out of the house), we let our pets have the entire rest of the house, and we close the doors. It also helps when you don't want someone wandering around your house.
Load More Replies...This could easily be implemented more simply and without the hideous tracking with a 270 degree hinge and a rigid door. Look how far out it has to be.
Makes sense - unless someone comes down the stairs & opens it as you're walking past - and *BOOM.
Load More Replies...Maybe to keep pets/small children/guest from going upstairs.
Load More Replies...Nicely done. Better than your average barn door, but no barn doors for me, thanks.
Saklikent Restaurant
"Saklıkent" means "Hidden city" or "Hidden town" in Turkish. There are several restaurants/cafes with that name in the country. This one is in Fethiye at the western end of Turkey's Mediterranean coast. I think the water feature is a pool but as this is a well-watered, hilly/mountainous area, it's likely fed by local streams.
Yep, I’m never getting up from that floor without the risk of falling into the water!
Load More Replies...Just noticed the strategically placed hammocks! Sign me up!!
Load More Replies...After investigating on Google maps, I don't see a river nearby, so I'm guessing it's a pool of some kind.
Load More Replies...Very nice. . . peaceful. . . but how do you get a reservation with no other people there. . .?
Colors In Istanbu
Right?! For those who dont know, probably 80 percent of new residential builds in the U.S. are finished with vinyl siding that is either beige, tan, or gray. Some 'daring' bulders choose white, cream, or if they really want to go crazy, a blue-gray. It is monotonous and boring.
Load More Replies...Now those are some "painted Ladies". . . but I would think that satellite dish would be against the HOA codes. . .!
"But then there's the opposite—maximalist, bohemian, and more eclectic styles—that evoke equally passionate responses," Ali continues. "These designs tend to create a sense of wonder, almost like stepping into a visual story where every object has a history, every color has meaning, and every pattern tells a tale."
Imagine Waking Up And Having Breakfast In Amalfi Coast
Wow. I know a couple who actually sat at THAT table just a few weeks ago!
It's a small bombs. (I was going to say "It's a small world", but autofill said bombs and that was funnier)
Load More Replies...Sorry, all I can think of is bugs Bugs BUGS! (I can appreciate the view and the romanticism of the decor and setting, but…)
Falling from the vine and into your food. But honestly, this place looks fancy enough to kill all the insects.
Load More Replies...Every year for two or three weeks I begin my day at Leone's in Amalfi where Francesca makes me the BEST cappuccino.
‘Flacking’ By Ememem, Using Artwork To Fill Or Repair A Hole In The Pavement
100% lovely. Only downside? Slipping on tile (esp on concrete stairs). Textured would also make it a100% safer.
Amazing Bunk Bed
Even cooler that someone over 30 could get up there.
Load More Replies...It's perfect for a guest room, especially if you have a visiting family with kids.
Load More Replies...It would have been smarter to put the stairs in front and put the book shelves inside the stairs
Maybe they're supposed to be more secure next to the wall 🤔
Load More Replies...My oldest daughters had a set up like this. When we moved into a house with a bigger room, the space under the top bunk was converted into a tv/video game nook
https://magicofwood.com.au/products/family-cozy you can buy it here
Load More Replies...When looking at cool beds like this, I think about how hard it would be to change the sheets.
The creator of "Call It Design" that while it may not be everyone's cup of tea, the more eclectic styles generate more discussions. "What's interesting is that these bolder styles tend to spark more conversations," he says. "They challenge the norms and invite people to debate, explore, and even reconsider their own preferences."
Beautiful Sculptures
These are great, and they appear to be real: https://lymhouseblog-com.translate.goog/blog/tac-pham-va-nghe-thuat/ve-dep-tao-hinh-trong-dieu-khac-cua-nghe-nhan-han-quoc-lee-sangsoo/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp
I looked into it. These are 3d printed, but the artist designs them himself. He has some other cool works out there too.

IDK, I've been to Oklahoma. You could probably walk for 100 miles without bumping into anything, or even going up a hill. It's just flat nothing
Load More Replies...You have to keep your eyes open to avoid the pickpockets! It's bad in every tourist city.
The architecture in Barca is outstanding and it wouldn't usually even be something that I'd be into. Love that city so much.
Barça is the nickname for the football team, not for the city. That would be Barna.
Load More Replies...Talking Heads!! Fixed one of your DVs from an ignorant. (◕ᴗ◕)
Load More Replies...I love the architecture in Barcelona. They have some of the greatest looking buildings.
"While the minimalist styles tend to inspire admiration, it's the more layered, complex designs that invite dialogue—and that mix is what makes curating content so much fun," Ali sums up. "The audience's reactions help guide what I post, but I also like to push boundaries and expose them to styles they might not normally engage with."
Unique House In Sirmione, Italy
Buildings And Stars Cut Into Blackout Curtains!
It may just be to block out some of the natural light. I tend to have a sentisivity to light and have to keep my blinds closed all the time; this may be great to minimise the amount of light coming in.
Load More Replies...I prefer the view of trees, tbh. Maybe they don't like sunshine entering their home?? Or they work nights (although the light coming through would still keep me awake, lol)? I have privacy covers above my bedroom/bathroom doors that have those stupid glass 'windows'. I have stained-glass effect ones, though.
That's a lot of holes to cut & discard. . . ! So, do they all line up with actual building lights at night? Ha ha ha. . . ! :-)
Miniature Terrarium By Jardim No Pote
Love the UP-reference. Ia it water real or resin? Looks a bit artificial
Those jar gardens are definitely a thing and you can get all sorts of tools, special tweezers etc to be able to assemble them!

South Kensington Townhouse Photo By Bei.bei.wei
No, black works way better from a design standpoint. A purple door would look garish. You'd have to make the window frames purple too to not make the door look displaced and you would loose the contrast
Load More Replies...These a house I used to live on the same street as in Vauxhall that looks like this, with the wisteria.
Ivy climbing up walls can damage the walls, roots entering the walls. I wonder if this doesn't have the same effect.
Why? This wisteria is definately more than one year old and leaves don't stain & dirty walls.
Load More Replies...Ali shares six more of his favorite posts, saying "They stand out because of how they perfectly balance functionality and aesthetic appeal, which is really the heart of great design." In Love With This Bookshop
he would lure me easily in,but never get me out again
Load More Replies...Dude now I wish there were more mobile libraries, I find the idea amazing for people that can't afford book loans
Is it real? The far end dimensions seem very far away for a van. And what keeps the books from falling?
I think it's a Ford Transit van. They have several different cargo-body lengths available and some models are made to be work/utility vans, so they don't have seating/benches in the back. Plus I imagine that the books are boxed up or otherwise stored when the van is in motion, and the employees place the books on the shelves once the van is parked in its "sell" spot. I imagine they perhaps park in the same spot for several days/a weekend and then repack their books when they move on to their next spot.
Load More Replies...Yeah, we had bookmobiles when I was a kid (1960s). Not this pretty, but just as functional. Not a store, though - part of the local library.

What Do You Think About This Beautiful Tiny House?
I love how they call these "Tiny Houses" now. Years ago, they were called "Park Models". You would find these in trailer camp parks. and they were a lot less expensive than they are now. Way too cramped inside to be a permanent residence for me. Good for a weekend getaway.
Most of them are built much more robustly than a park model trailer. They’re built like houses, not RVs. Fully framed insulated walls, higher quality appliances, normal doors, windows and flooring, etc.
Load More Replies...A major problem with tiny houses is air pollution. They all need some kind of a heat exchanger to get fresh air into them.

Lovely. But now back ti reality: Changing fittet sheets and cleanibg will be a nightmare, slide is too steep, and upper bed needs a fall protection
I think you can close the windows of the upper bed for fall protection. But other than that i agree, it‘s not really practicable. But very pretty and cute. Might be something for a DIY project, but a little simpler and more practicable.
