They can become them, though. I have a godmother who met my mom...at their job. They remained very close friends for over 40 years until she passed away last year. It is very possible.

Me too Zophra. We were really tight (I thought) and used to hang out at her house some weekends, go out dancing, movies...she was at my daughter baby shower. But the SECOND I left that job...I was completely ghosted. No return calls, texts, no response to Facebook messages...it was very sad, hurtful and perplexing.

There seems to be a lot of people these days that have “casual” friends and don’t realize that that’s the kind of friendship they have because they’ve never had a friend that they could be completely open/be themselves with. It’s kinda sad, and maybe social media is to blame. People dont connect on deeper levels anymore.

Strongly agree. Either they are just that terrible at matching skin tone colors or else they did it on purpose and in that profession, neither are acceptable.

Makeup artist didn't correctly match the makeup to her skintone at all. Even lacking experience doing makeup of some shades, you'd have to have issues seeing color to do this - or else possibly do it on purpose to be mean. They shouldn't be in that profession. Really not ok on more levels than one in my view.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was a white makeup artist with no experience doing makeup of anyone with darker skin tones. Heard of this happening often with PROFESSIONAL makeup artists - even with famous movie stars of color. I've read articles where movie stars have had to bring their own makeup to the sets and INSTRUCT the white professional makeup artists how to apply it - or else do it themselves. Nuts.

I was just going to say the same thing. The amount of hair on the head of the person in the picture on the left does not equal the amount on the braid. But in the picture on the right, it does. You’d think a professional hairdresser would’ve realized they needed to add a lot of long thick extensions to get the same effect.

Hair not lightened enough, toner mixed with too low of developer and processed too long. With 4.5 hours, they could have gotten her hair lifted high enough to do a purple wash then toned it to the specific color. This is laziness and ineptitude on the part of the colorist.

That happened to a coworker. She had invited her team to her wedding. She is white and married a black man. None of them came. I heard them talking later how it was to teach her a lesson that they all disapproved of her choice. I lost all respect I had for them that day. They were teachers.

This is such a typical thing and I hate it! Why? Well, when I found my boyfriend I worked hard on keeping my 18 month friendship going. We did almost everything in three and made sure that she wouldn't feel excluded and/or forgotten. Two weeks in she got a boyfriend of her own and then I didn't hear from her again unless we bumped into her randomly. (Still have my boyfriend/husband though)

Once I realized that if I was the one in need, then no one talked to me or wanted to hang out. I eventually just said, “bye bye” to the lot of them. I tried three times to keep one (I thought) special friendship. I was constantly placed in the “I’ll always come second” file. She mattered so much to me, but I didn’t to her. I really lost the will to ever try again, so now I’m alone. Again…people suck.
