50 Examples Of Bad Bosses Who Probably Complain That “No One Wants To Work Anymore” (New Pics)
Interview With ExpertA boss can really make or break a workplace. A good boss can make a work environment fun, friendly, and positively challenging. A bad boss, however... they make going to work a nightmare every day.
The tide may be changing as more members of Generation Z are becoming managers. In 2024, Glassdoor predicted that Gen Z will make up 10% of managers in 2025.
Does that mean there won't be as many terrible bosses around? Perhaps, but work jerks are a breed that's difficult to get rid of. We've got a compilation of the most toxic and entitled bosses for you here, just so you remember the level of pettiness and absurdity some employees and managers can stoop to.
To learn more about how to spot horrible bosses and how to deal with them, Bored Panda reached out to organizational psychologist, speaker, author, adjunct professor, and podcast host Dr. Laura Hambley Lovett.
With 25 years of experience, she is a thought leader on workplace psychology, career development, and the future of work. Dr. Laura founded Canada Career Counselling and other consulting practices and is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology. A Canadian Women of Inspiration Award winner, she is dedicated to helping people and organizations thrive.
Dr. Laura kindly agreed to tell us more about how people can differentiate between difficult and toxic bosses, what steps to take if you're working under a toxic manager, and how Gen Z is growing less and less tolerant of entitled bosses. Read her expert insights below!

My Boss Declined My Vacation (After Having 4 Months Notice) To Hawaii To Propose To My Girlfriend Because They (Needed Me Badly) In The Office… Obviously Work/Life Balance Didn’t Mean Anything To Them. Anyways… Here’s My View (She Said Yes)
True fact: The surprise marriage proposal was invented by the diamond business as a promotion to sell more diamond engagement rings (before they were common). Reference: The Drum, Carnyx Group Limited. (2016). 1948: De Beers 'A diamond is forever' campaign invents the modern day engagement ring.
Completely not true.Wedding proposals were common hundreds of years before what you are talking about.

Wow. I just told my boss my aunt passed away the other day and I need to go to the other side of Australia for the funeral. My boss said "okay let me know as soon as you know and I'll sort it out" My boss is cool.
I remember my old boss saying "are you still not over that?" to a co-worker who asked if they could have one day of holiday leave for a planned family get-together to mark the 5th anniversary of their dad's death. Technically our boss wasn't required to grant it if there was no cover, but there are respectful ways to decline leave requests in these sort of sensitive cases and mocking somebody's loss is really not one of them
My ex-boss when I told her my Father-in-law passed away: "The best thing you can do is to immerse yourself in work so you won't feel the pain." She was let go in a few months, but the whole company was stupid, so I let go of the company.
Lost my parents, both in the same year, 10 months apart. I was allowed 5 days for each death, but work paid me 2½-3 weeks for each. When I realised that the day I was due back was a few days before Christmas...my head was a real mess....I messaged my boss and told her I couldn't handle going back, smiling and saying merry Christmas to every customer, she said it was fine, come back after Christmas....she was a bit of a jerk about alot of things, but she treated me really well during all that time
When my stepfather died, Disney sent flowers. My daughter was a cast member at the time.
im trying to get pregnant (IVF). i can't control dates. i need to be at the clinic in specific days. it depends on my body, my ovulation, i'm spending a lot of money in medicines and have to be examined every 2 days. my boss decided to go on vacations and asked me to pause the IVF until she got back hahaha i said i couldn't. she got mad at me. i'm not the one to be blamed for her lack of planning 🤷♀️ i work for her since 2018. i carry her company on my shoulders. she pays me minimum. last year i asked her to raise my salary in 35 dollars. she denied. i always did a lot of extra time, worked on weekends. when she denied it i stopped doing this. also i have a second job where i work for myself. i'm gonna quit this july, she doesn't know this yet. hope she struggles finding someone as good as me. we've had 2 workers who quit less than 1 year after starting because she's lame.
My grandfather died (1971)whilst my father was on holiday. Obviously no phones or email in those times. I had to arrange the funeral with my (sick) grandmother. Went to work (was a nurse) and picked up my schedule for the following week, and arranged to funeral for my first day off once my father had got back. When I next went in, the Sister on the ward had changed all the dates, despite me saying I'd organise the funeral during my time of and it would be X date. She said we were far too busy to allow me the time off. In those days we had 'Matron's', and I went and complained. Got the time off but the beatch of a sister never forgave me, so I moved to another ward a few weeks after.
That's worse than when my manager said "yes your grandmother died but really you do have two of them and the fact she adopted your mother just means she is not really your family." Could not get the day off. During the time of the funeral a woman caught me crying in a corner and asked what was happening. After telling her I was fine she pulled out a company badge and told me try again. So told her. She went to the manager and he admitted to denying my request before she badged him and started going off that her two adopted kids are in fact family and dragged him off to the office. 3 hours later she approved the rest of the day and the next for bereavement leave. Missed the funeral but got to meet up for the after wake.
Calling Homeless People “Animals”
I came into work at 6.30 in the morning and found a homeless guy sleeping on our fire exit steps down to the boiler room. I gave him a coffee from our machine and my lunch sandwiches. Snooty Mare from customer services said you will only encourage them. I said yes I'm sure a grotty machine coffee and my sad sarnies will encourage people to sleep in sub zero temperatures, as a life choice!
Animals only take what they need to survive. They don't accumulate food, money and stuff while other members of the species starve They have one "home" where they sleep and give birth. They don't keep twenty different places for themselves while others have nowhere to go. The boss is not an animal. S/he is 100% human. Only humans are that selfish and greedy.

Hating your boss is not just material for stand-up or a topic for water cooler talk. For many workers, a stressful work environment perpetuated by their supervisors is a sad reality. The Toxic Workplace Trends Report 2025 by iHire revealed that 74.9% of American employees have experienced a toxic workplace.
They surveyed 1,781 workers and 504 employers across 57 industries in The U.S., and most respondents named "poor leadership/management" as the top characteristic of a toxic workplace. 71.9% of those respondents claimed that leaders are not accountable for their mistakes, and 65.5% believed they treat their employees with bias and favoritism.

Filed a wage theft report against my former employer, was told he only paid 80% of what was owned, but I sucked it up. When I picked up the check at the Department of Labor, it had "THIEF" boldly written on the subject line. Super awkward, unfair, and embarrassing, especially with others witnessing it. Is there anything that can be done?
"I was going to be ok with the 80% you paid, but you called me a thief, so now I want 100% and will be contacting a lawyer about libel."
Is there anything that can be done? You're literally standing in the Department of Labor after successfully suing your boss. Tell me, is there anything that can be done?
Please tell me you can sue for this. In. My country you definitely can
This isn't actionable in the US. The momentary embarrassment of someone seeing it doesn't rise to the level of harming OP's reputation so it's not defamation or libel. And, though petty and infuriating, it also doesn't rise to the level of extreme and outrageous that's necessary to sue for the intentional infliction of emotion distress. Best thing for OP to do is name and shame.

"...at any company" Either an amazingly bold faced lie or some mind numbing ignorance. Either way wtaf?
Dear Lord, the trauma of surviving something like that, let alone one in which people died. For basic mental health you'd need time to process what you'd been through, as well as health checks etc. I get the feeling that American employers have a lot more leeway to treat their employees like s.h.i.t. than they do in Europe (don't get me wrong, there are some terrible employers there too, but it's far easier to have a case that their treatment is unreasonable)
We do not have employers like that here in uk I can assure you ,,,

Fatal accident implies SOMEBODY died, not necessarily the person speaking. Judging by this HR, they wouldn't even excuse the employee's ghost!

If employees don't stay with the company for a long time, there's probably a reason for that.
Another, perhaps less obvious, sign is the number of employees taking medical leave. She notes that some of them might come from overwork, as burnout can result from having a toxic boss. In her recent research, Dr. Laura has found a significant relationship between toxic leadership behaviors and burnout across industries in North America.
So, This Is Something That A Potential Employer Can Do? I Don't See How It's Relevant To My Job As A Network Administrator
Legality in the US depends on the scenario. Christian church, school, daycare, etc they can do this. A non religion based business can not though.
My last encounter with Jesus Christ is we got into a slap fight outside a bar and grill in Billings Montana. I won.
My initial encounter with Jesus Christ? Do I look like I'm two thousand years old you dumb arschloch?
In the UK this is legal if you can demonstrate that it's required for the job. So Pastor or preacher? Yep, you can do this. Church administrator? No. I know a number of churches who employ atheist or Muslim administrators without issue.
Does it matter? It’s clearly not the place for thinking people. Let the morons hire other morons.
I don’t know about other countries, but this can be legal in the US. If the employer is a “religious organization”, then they can ask about a person’s faith during the hiring process due to the "ministerial exception" to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
Not USA myself, but I'll be very surprised if this is legal in the US, and practically all other democracies.

Boss Wasn’t Paying Attention And Sat On My Desk While Talking To A Coworker
UPDATE: So I approached him about it and he tried to convince me that they were already broken before he sat there, which I know is a lie. After talking for more than 20 minutes he then finally admitted to it, saying it was an accident and apologized. When I said he’d need to buy me a replacement pair he said “we can talk more about it tomorrow.” 🙄 Wish me luck I guess...
What is he, a child? D**n, if you can't acknowledge you made a simple mistake and take responsibility, then you certainly don't need to be in a managerial position. Report to HR if possible.

In her research with colleagues conducted through the University of Calgary, Dr. Laura has interviewed employees about toxic leadership behaviors. These interviews helped the researchers identify some new toxic behaviors in addition to the previously recognized narcissistic, authoritarian, self-promoting, abusive, and unpredictable behaviors. They now believe that dishonesty, gaslighting, extreme control and micromanagement, unethical behavior, and corruption harm employees' well-being just as much.
The Manager Would Throw Away Cookies Every Saturday Instead Of Giving Them To The Employees
We threw away 55 cookies. The managers didn't let us take any home because they thought it might "encourage us to purposely make extra."
Surely the managers have some idea how many are made vs how many are sold?
This company sucks. Their ultra Christian "values" donate to MAGA candidates and are closed Sundays for religious reasons.
It's not even that good. Sure, customer service is good but that's should be a given. People make Chik-Fil-A their personality because it's Christian.

I mean... they're wrapped. Change the bin bag, toss the cookies in the bin, change the bin bag again and get lost on your way to the dumpster.
"...it might "encourage us to purposely make extra." That's why, if you actually a decent manager, you understand the average you see per day and have that amount made (with maybe a buffer). Anything left over your employees can then take home. It's not that hard to not be an a*****e.
My brother worked at a grocery store deli as a teenager and him and a few guys were the a******s that ruined it for everyone. They would purposefully make extra food (pizzas, chickens, sandwiches) at the end of their shifts to bring home. So, the store changed the policy so employees could no longer bring home the leftovers and trashed them. Not a good solution, should have been donated, but I get why they changed the policy. Those guys ruined a good thing for everyone by being so greedy.
That's still poor management. It's not on the employees to decide how much they're gonna make. Management needs to have an estimate beforehand.

Employee engagement scores are a great way to measure how good a company's leadership is. HR experts claim that the average score for an engagement survey should be above 70. Anything below that may signal poor management. Yet Dr. Laura notes that she's more of a fan of climate surveys. Are there any ways to deal with insufferable superiors? Of course, and, just like when dealing with narcissists and entitled people in general, setting boundaries is crucial. "Although if your boss is truly toxic or narcissistic, this will not be a long-term solution," Dr. Laura cautions. "Your best solution is to begin crafting your 'exit plan,' which could mean moving within your organization to report to a better boss or leaving the organization altogether."

With regard to the people here concerned about not having necessary coverage for the residents--if your employer is too d**n cheap to hire enough employees to cover emergencies, then that's on them and they obviously are more concerned with the bottom line than the residents. Pretty typical with health care-- they pay peanuts and over-schedule workers.
It sounds like the employee works in a profession providing care to live-in clients/residents. Possibly nursing or physical rehabilitation facility? The supervisor did not threaten dismissal, however, waiting till the emergency is over would be more couth. I can see both sides to this one.
No. Frivolous, unplanned call outs are a concern and should be a reason to start building a case for termination. This employee asked for the shift off for unplanned, catastrophic reasons, and also said she would come in if she had to. Any decent manager would immediately grant the time, and offer sympathy and support as needed. Also. If made to come in, how would the home situation affect her care of the vulnerable population? Not saying she would intentionally cut corners, must might not be as sharp as normal. This employee sounds like a prize b

I do my job well enough that I now have to be scrutinized for tiny things in order for my supervisors to look like they have an important role of “managing” people. I almost got fired last year because I racked up a total of 6 minutes of tardies over the course of 2 months because I came back from lunch 1-3 mins late a few times.
I hope I don’t get a write up and sent to the principal’s office!
One week I was reported for coming back from break 2 minutes late; the next week I was reported for coming back from break early
Don't these pillocks have anything better to do ? Are they paid for keeping tabs on people being 2 or 3 minutes late from lunch ? If so, then their job is superfluous and should be made redundant.
The new generation, however, is less tolerant of toxic behaviors from their supervisors. Just a couple of months ago, Forbes published an article about how Gen Z employees are revenge-quitting because they believe that respect, flexibility, and well-being at the workplace are non-negotiable. Dr. Laura tells Bored Panda that she observes a similar trend. "On average, Gen Z has less tolerance for toxic leadership and abusive behaviors at work."
Former Employer Wants My Password To The Computer I Used 6 Months After Terminating Me
For context:
This company sought me out to interview at their company for a management position. I ended up getting the job. Lasted 30 days until they terminated the position due to a “cart before the horse” situation. Basically what happened is I called out all the illegal marketing practices happening and offered solutions to fix them. They got rid of the problem, which was “me.” Now they want my password.
They want to see what is on the laptop. There is no way they need your password for a reset.
I can't speculate on their motives, but you are wrong about not needing a password for a reset. On some laptops a BIOS password will prevent any kind of interaction with the computer. The only solution is to replace the motherboard. I know this, as I used the fingerprint sensor to lock my laptop and when it failed and I couldn't remember the password, I had to pay for a new motherboard, which was about 1/3 the price of a new machine!

I work for a very well-known corporation as a server/bartender. My shift usually starts at 4:00 pm.
The time clock rounds my hours to 15-minute intervals. If I clock in at 4:01, I don't start getting paid until 4:15. If I clock in at 3:50 and start working immediately as expected, I don't get paid for those first 10 minutes. I know if I clock out at 10:40 it doesn't round to 10:45. It gets rounded down to 10:30. My general manager confirmed that over text. This means I lose up to 28 minutes in my wages every shift.
I know this is wage theft. They did not notify me that they changed the time clocks. When I was first employed, I was paid from when I clocked in to when I clocked out. I wasn’t aware that it was rounding down my hours for a few months. I believe that I'm owed a couple of hundreds of dollars in unpaid wages. I'm planning to send these screen shots to the labour board but I'm not very hopeful anything will happen.
TLDR: my employer is rounding down my hours so he can pay me less.
My first job rounded up/down to the closest 15-minute increment. So I did that for my second job when turning in my punched time card. The second job paid me for every minute I was punched in. If I worked 6 minutes or 52 minutes, I got paid for all of them.
Had this happen to me at a job. Clocked in at 7:06, clocked out at 17:36. Got paid for 9.5 hours. Turns out, clocking in more than 5 minutes late gets rounded up to the next half hour, and clocking out withing ten minutes of a half hour gets rounded down. Worked for 10h01m, got paid for 9h30m. To their credit, they did change the system and back paid me when I pointed this out.
When I was in high school, the time clock at the job I worked rounded to the nearest 15, you could clock out at 12:08, back in at 12:22 for lunch and it would take zero minutes off. I did not feel bad since it was less then $4 per hour with no overtime... Got to love "seasonal" labor law exemptions...
Boss Lied To Clients About My Mother Dying And Expected Me To Play Along
Job was two weeks late in starting, but he could have just told the clients he’d forgot how swamped our shop was and apologized. Or told a white lie that one or another of the machines at the shop had broken down and it took two weeks to get someone in to fix it. But no. And this is hardly the worst thing he’s done. I don’t work for this a**hat any more.
Wow. His mistake and he fixes it by blaming YOUR mom with a nuclear lie!
Make a point of "accidentally" bumping into client in town and introducing your mother, who is accompanying you at the time.
Unprofessional Maybe?
Ugh, when I was looking a job I got a text from a recruitment agency asking if they could WhatsApp me a form to fill in. Of course I was already on high alert, but I engaged and said no, because I do not want to fill in forms on my phone. I asked them to email it to me. I was told it would take a couple of weeks to email me the form and I might lose the position they had in mind for me. LMAO, what on earth business takes two weeks to be able to send an email? Why? We went backwards and forwards a couple of times (well, I didn't have a job and it was something to do, LOL) and they were very insistent that they wanted to contact me on Whatsapp. I googled the agency and the website implied they only placed chefs anyway, if they were actually that agency, and if the website was real and not a front for a scam. No aspect of life is free of scammers, is it.

So Unprofessional
UPDATE: I just received an email from my boss but it’s worded weirdly: “Dear, I’m so sorry you didn’t receive the text message that was sent out to the team” She then goes on to say my shift time today has changed and asks if I can come in earlier, and that we’ll discuss what happened during the shift. Sounds like she’s blaming me? Sorry YOU didn’t receive the text. Excuse me? You didn’t add me to the list of recipients. How is it my fault.
I worked for a doctor who used to just pick up and go skiing randomly and we were charged with rescheduling. Needless to say, it was the main reason I quit. Other reasons? C**p pay, over scheduling, understaffing.
Boss Texts Like A Clingy Partner On My Days Off
Trying to tell myself her urgency isn’t my emergency. These notes aren’t even that important, and are actually ones SHE HERSELF is supposed to write.
This is so weird, I turn of the work line when I’m off and don’t answer work texts when off duty unless it is a true emergency.

How My Boss Asks Me To Work 21 Days Straight
We have 7 routes and 11 drivers. These guys thought it was a good idea to let 3 drivers take a vacation spanning over 3 months. All 3 will be gone at the same time over the next month. So what's their plan? Try to make other drivers work for almost a month straight to pick up the slack. Needless to say, it hasn't gone over well. Now the boss and production manager get to drive a couple nights a week as well as work the day shift.
Quite illegal. Federal law is quite specific in how many hours/days a driver can work, and also mandatory days worked for hourly employees. Time for managers to contact a staffing agency for temporary help.
And they must have a mandatory 36, consecutive, hours off after what ever work hours are set ( some are 6/60 or 7/70 ). The company I work for is 6 days/60 hours, and per Federal law I must have at least 36 consecutive hours off for a reset. I have a Class A CDL in the U.S. ( semi truck driver )

Former Boss Ghosts Me After I Ask About Not Getting Paid
This is after I've been sending daily emails to finance and management since last Friday.

Anyway, after filling a few forms and going to a few offices l'll see him in court next year and if he claims he can't pay the government will give me what l'm owed and will levy whatever he has or makes in the future until his debts are paid 🤗. Fired For “Behavior”
A few days ago, my supervisor informed me that I would have to take on the responsibilities of two people, and I refused. I also expressed how I felt about it. I was the only one in the company who spoke up and said what I thought. As a manager, I even encouraged my team to stand up for themselves if they felt like they were being mistreated in any way, I guess they realized I wasn't someone who would just stay quiet, do my job, and accept any nonsense they threw at me. So, they fired me without warning via text.

Mid-June here in NJ, and we're experiencing a heatwave. Temperatures in the mid-90°F all week. Hr Lady Asked Me To Pay £650 For Training And Became Very Rude When Told I Can't Afford It
For context: The lady sent me a job offer at 8pm (ish) on a Thursday. Me not expecting people to be actively looking for roles at that time, sent her a quick reply hoping we could have a call instead. I was very excited to have recived the job offer so I just wizzed through the lengthy starting email (my mistake).
The job offer asked for £500+£150(?) for training and I asked if that money can be taken out from my wages when I start working instead as I only get paid £500 a biweekly from benefits.
The lady got really rude to me after I told her I cannot pay that much as I don't have that money anywhere. That's the comment she made about people on benefits.
I hate being on benefits and am trying my hardest to get permanently off it. Who asks for £650 training that the job should provide?
Let me guess: your job is to find more people to train? That's not a job, it's an MLM.

For context, I work at 2 different food truck businesses (called 1 and 2 in the photos). T is my boss and L is our new manager, J is our old manager.
My other coworker and I just found out that our boss takes 10% of all card tips and gives them to our manager EVEN WHEN THEY AREN’T clocked in and apparently has been doing so at least since I’ve been here the last 4 years. I feel justified in saying all of this as I am their longest lasting employee, and am only not working more due to school.
My coworker and I worked pretty much an all day event on the 15th. We were clocked in to food truck 2. Our manager L was also clocked in to food truck 2 but working on food truck 1 (separate business) training a new employee
Well, on our square reader on the truck it showed us making about $75 just in tips. Come to find out, we noticed that the both of ours combined only added up to about $50. To which we realized L was also clocked in to food truck 2 with us and not even working the same job or even the same truck as us. Therefore, stealing our tips whether it be intentional or not. L said she messaged our boss but my coworker and I had our doubts so I messaged our boss anyways. Hence, the pictures. My coworker and I were acting all nice in the pictures, but man.. we were talking with a couple other employees and we all think it’s not fair.

Aio To My Manager Telling Me I Have To Stay Open Till 2 Am?
so I work at a bar inside a hotel. I am a full time student so I only work part time, which for me is tuesday and thursday nights. this week, I agreed to come in on monday as well because there was a big event in town and we were sold out. I thought it would be worth it to skip two of my classes because it was supposed to be a big money night. turns out, that was not the case. it was me and one other bartender working, and we only did $1500 in sale and made $372 in tips, which we have to split. two hours into the shift, one of my managers came up to my coworker and told her we have to stay open till 2 am. that is absolutely ridiculous. we are only open till 11 pm every other day. both of us left at 11:30 when everything was closed up. my two managers started spam calling and texting us asking why we closed. I attached the text I sent her below. I want to quit. am I overreacting?
Forced To Work 9 Hour Shift In Smoke Filled Production Hall With High Co2 Levels
Fed up with work conditions, employed at a large meat manufacturing/packing plant, and due to improper ventilation/exhaust of industrial ovens, production areas filled with smoke, along with elevated CO2 levels. Every shift has safety managers, but they signed off on allowing production to continue across two shifts. Smoke made everyone's eyes constantly water, was almost impossible to breathe after a full shift, and those that did go home sick were still penalized with attendance points. No care for employees or their safety and well being, managment only worried about numbers and making company owners more money. HR response is if safety says it's fine then it's fine. Would have quit on the spot if I didn't have a family and mortgage to provide for.
Too late. They were "made redundant" by DOGE because they were looking into unsafe conditions at Tesla, Starlink, & Space X.

I was at the er last night after a long couple days of throwing up non-stop and being unable to hold down any food whatsoever.
Symptoms started at my job - I threw up several times on floor and they refuses to send me home, claiming they just had no one to replace me, and that I didnt look ill.
When I went to the er last night, i was severely dehydrated from all of the throwing up I've done. Not only that, I needed to be prescribed medication to control my vomiting, and was given extra strong painkillers to counteract the pain my body has been feeling for days now.
I texted my boss last night at 3 am - when I got home - knowing that I wouldn't be able to make it into work. Not my word, literally my doctor didn't want me to. Wanted me to go to a follow up today, rest, and over-hydrate myself until I start feeling better - because I can't hold down solids.
Apparently they couldn't care. Apparently, my health isn't an important asset to them - and they care more about me being on the floor than the fact I can't even make it across my living room without shooting pains and feeling like I'm going to lose my lunch.

I Quit A Terrible Job And My Manager Sent This Out To The Entire Office (More Context In Post, If Needed!)
I accepted a full time job at this small business but a few red flags started cropping up (I’m in the UK for some context). The company culture was really bad and most of the team had worked there a very long time and were very hostile towards new joiners (lots of snarky emails and 50-60 year old men gossiping behind your back). The company director was rude and condescending to me everytime I spoke to him (and I tried really hard, maybe too hard, to be nice lol).
One of the things I found so strange was that they refuse to give you a contract. ever. I asked about this further and they said “your offer can be considered your contract, I guess.” - staff who had worked there 20+ years had no contracts.
So yeah I worked with them for 6 weeks before handing my notice in and this was sent out to the office. I don’t know who the f Ian is and I don’t have any job interviews/offers “in the city” (nor do I want to work there!).

Context: She Had Just Found Out That Her Boyfriend Of 4+ Years Had Been Cheating On Her. She Started Looking For Another Job Immediately After Reading This.
My Boss Is Taking Our Social Media Presence Very Seriously
Safe to say I need to find a new job but i wanted to share my experience. I work for a wine retailer in NY and alcohol consumption is down overall and not looking to bounce back meaning sales are DOWN. I’ve endured many hardships with this company from several back-to-back late paychecks to literal verbal a**se but I stay because the customers make me feel happy and fulfilled.
My boss now “recommends” us employees to like, share, and comment on all posts; the bosses partner will be “monitoring” these activities. In regards to the second slide, I recorded and edited recent videos for the company and tagged my personal account in those videos, in which my boss told me to never do again unless I’m in front of the camera.
At the end of the day, it’s not my company and I know where the door is. No matter how many $$$ I bring in, I sadly must look for a new job because I do not agree with how things are being operated. It’s been a great run and I learned the valuable lesson of knowing your worth.
Boss Completely Ignored This Job Applicant's Concern About Pay
What It's Like Talking To My Boss
I used to work for a company where the owner was married with four children. His mistress was the company accountant, and his wife didn't know about her. On the day his wife and children came for a tour, the mistress stayed home, and the owner had another employee sit in the accounting office. Eventually the mistress stopped showing up for work. A couple days later, the electricity went off. Someone called the power company and was told that the bills hadn't been paid. It turned out that the mistress/accountant had stolen ALL of the company's money and sold off most of the company's property (for a total of a couple million dollars) and then disappeared. That was the end of the company. Obviously I didn't get a final paycheck. But I did get a MUCH better job a short time later.
And an amazing story you could dine out on for years

If I had the same issues in retail they'd have fired my @ss within the week, even though when I was working retail I was doing full-time hours so worked with my boss a lot more than I do now.
About item #50: If boss threw out items listed, and you pick them out of the trash, they're yours to do with as you see fit. Either use them for your startup, or send them to the client concerned and advise them about where you found their files. See if the company lasts long after that.
I graduated business school where they taught us it's important to keep your employees happy because they're expensive to replace. Clearly none of these bosses learned that.
Gen Z is shaping up to be the most conservative generation since Boomers, so don't get your hopes up. Glad I'll be retired by then.
My Son had a bad boss Two years ago it my second grand son was born my son was supposed to go to Las Vegas for a conference . Babies arrive on their time not ours. Little man decided he was coming a week early so my son could not go on the trip . His boss deducted the entire expense out of his pay check. She also shorted him on several of his commissions . My son has never called me to ask for help with groceries be he called me to inform me his check was once again short and asked some money so i gave him 100. He had not had a raise in two years. she took half his christmas bonus and the list gets bigger . He was their money maker and the reason the company was doing well . he put in his notice The owner found out and called him in showed him the profit loss and explained there was no reason for her to do these things . He went through with is resignation. Im glad he did because under her direction he was financially failing.
Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of people take on "bad boss" traits as they work their way up the ladder. I guess they figure that they paid their dues and now they can feel empowered to let everyone below know they are acting higher. Truth is, to be a good to great manager is to use the Golden Rule - treat the subordinate folk how you would want to be treated in their place, remember that life happens and people rarely plan for that and need time, and vow to not do the unpleasant things your bosses did to you. Simple as that.
