Coworker Got A Ransom Note For Her Kidnapped Toy
So, my coworker has brought in this little snowman toy, which is motion activated and sings Christmas songs when you activate it. She made a game out of hiding it around our workplace, to annoy everyone.
Someone snatched it and she's been a little annoyed that her little game is over. Today, I came into work and found this envelope with her name on it, and the picture sitting beside it.
I think it's freaking hilarious, and I hope whoever stole it keeps up the joke.

My BIL and I worked for a bank. BIL had this bagpipes album and we wrapped it up, put a note on it TO: (name) FROM: The Phantom and left it in the security supervisors office. He laughed but actually liked it because he was a musician. I don't remember what we got him the following year but this went on and on and on, each year we'd get more obscure with the gift. Each year he'd get more riled about it. We even hung a fake urinal in his cubical one year, that really got him going. He had about figured out I was behind it but then I left and the gifts continued. I'm sure he's in heaven looking down right now and laughing and cussing.

Looking at these images on the screen can be spooky, sure. But seeing these things in real life is another level of terrifying. When you find yourself in a dangerous situation or you get extremely stressed, your body reacts in one of four main ways. You probably already know about fight or flight. But you might also freeze or fawn.
When stressed, your body goes for the strategy that ensures the best chances of your survival. It’s instinctive. For instance, you might enter fight mode if there’s a fairly good chance of you overpowering the threat you face. However, if the danger is something that you have a better chance of outrunning, you might go into flight mode.

The Grave With A Window
There is a curious grave at Evergreen Cemetery in the West River neighborhood of New Haven, Vermont, the United States. It’s a small grassy mound with a large slab of concrete placed at the top. This concrete block has a small fourteen inch square glass window facing towards the sky. The glass window is hazy and has beads of water hanging on the underside from condensation, and you can’t see much inside. But back in 1893, you could have peered inside and straight into the decomposing face of Timothy Clark Smith.

His definitely wasn't the only one with this fear. As many from 17th–19th century practice of placing bells on coffins to prevent people from being mistakenly buried alive. A string was attached from a bell above ground to the inside of the coffin, allowing a person who woke up to ring it for help. This practice was born from the fear of premature burial and led to the invention of "safety coffins". But I gueee the bell wasn't enough for him and he wanted to able to see outside . I Feels more like he has fear of tight space. Because I choose a virtual balcony view at Royal Caribbean as the feeling of unable to see outside makes me claustrophobic. Yes I'm an introvert who doesn't leave my house a lot but my house has windows. I will definitely go crazy if there is no windows to look outside. Though I close the windows in my room. Ilight still can pass through . I mainly use the kitchen window to look outside.
While feeling stressed isn’t a lot of fun, a well-functioning stress response is what helps keep you safe.
However, problems start to pop up when you’re constantly stressed and alert when there is no real, tangible danger to be found.
If this continues for a long enough time, it can damage your physical and mental health. It can contribute to anxiety, depression, and damage your immune system.

The only possible best outcome is to turn around and go back the other way. You should not risk getting out of your car, since as Ray Ceeya said, it more than likely is an ambush. You could be hurt or k*lled, and your car stolen. Don't get out, just do a three or four-point turn, and go back. And call 911 and report it.

Tornado sign. The only time I saw a green sky was when an F4 hit in our area. Thankfully for us, we just lost a lot of branches and our trees were twisted a bit. Other half of town was flattened. My parents were staring at the weird color while I was hollering to grab the dogs and cats and head to the basement. We had a tornado hit this summer, I’ve been terrified of storms (more so tornados than anything) especially since Katrina. I had to stick my 13 year old in the closet in the hall with my almost 1 year old and ran out to the car, in the middle of it, with 1 inch balls of hail almost knocking me out the entire way to the car to look for my 10 year old who doesn’t listen when I say to come STRAIGHT HOME anytime he’s out and it starts raining, storming, anything. I finally found him in his friends driveway watching the hail like a psycho. Gave me a heart attack. I came back home to my oldest crying and having a panic attack and I was upset and lecturing that my 10 year old because he literally walked past our road and to get to his friends house even tho I’ve said come straight home or run to the closest house possible of someone you know THEN CALL ME to lmk you are safe!. So he said that was the closest (little fibber) even tho as I said, he would’ve had to pass our road to get there. That day was a mess. It was 80-90° out and looked like it snowed outside. i Was panicking.

I did apologize to my poor middle kid for lecturing him maybe a bit more than needed because I was super worried which turns me into a s***z. Especially when I’m worried about one of my kids’ safety. And I apologized to my oldest for leaving him, but I hadn’t planned to be gone long, just around the corner to see if brother possible at park then around the block and back inside. All of two mins tops. I also explained to my middle kid I wasn’t mad at him but that I was just worried sick about him and upset and let him know I was just so glad he was okay. 😩😰 I genuinely felt horrible and did my best to make it up to all of them because I really didn’t know what else to do as my fiance was at work still. all I did was lecture him about what to do next time and made sure he still had my number memorized. He has a phone but refuses to bring it when playing outside but can’t say I blame him for that. I also felt horrible for having to leave my oldest and youngest to go look for the middle one. He was thankfully able to FaceTime with his older sister who did help keep him more calm but he is as bad as me about storms sometimes. Guess he picked up my bad habits growing up. 🤦🏼♀️😔 I can’t post photos directly here on my mobile but I’ll upload pics of the hail and aftermath on Imgur and share the link. We’ve never, had a tornado in Ohio since I’ve lived here and definitely not in my little town that take 5 seconds to drive through. I’ve been here 18-19 years now.

Someone Left A House In The Road At 4am
I was coming back from a fishing trip at 4am and nearly drove through a house. There wasn't another person anywhere nearby. Someone tried to tow it with a pickup truck and one of those 4 sided universal hitches. Blowing 3 tires wasn't what stopped them, it was when their hitch sheared off and was left at the front. The road was scarred up for close to 3 miles. The best part was, the house was fully furnished. Initially, the house looked like it had been ripped out of the ground and just dropped there. Being as tired as I was, it was a major WTF moment for me. The first few seconds of trying to process it was really weird. This is on a mountain road in rural Utah if anyone is curious.

I have pics taken of damage after hurricane katrina, of the wicked witch Under a house that was moved from its foundation that we came across on our way home to see the damages to our house (we evacuated to a few hours north of where we lived, which was 5 mins from the beach in mississppi, about 2 hours east of NOLA. Shocker, nothing left of our place :,( thankfully we did leave as normally we wouldn’t have. If we hadn’t, I’m not sure I’d be here today). It was a bit of laughter during a very traumatic time for my 11 year old self at the time. Wish I knew where I put it lol you could prob even find it online at this point as I’m sure others saw it and took pics

Probably not as sus as it looks. A lot of people don't trust document shredding services etc. My dad's buddy has a farm and whenever my dad's got old personal documents, and phones, he takes them out and puts them in the burn barrel, after smashing the phones with a hammer. He thinks that scammers will CSI reassemble the shredded paper and smashed electronics if he takes them to a legit disposal site.

Your eyes won't dilate in red light. Pilots maps don't have red on them because the cockpit has red lights at night. If refrigerator manufacturers had a lick of sense, they'd have red lights in the fridge so when you open it in the middle of the night you're not blinded. Back when the in door water/ice dispenser used miniature bulbs like old Christmas lights for the night light, I used red bulbs. Now everything has gone LED

Better yet, have two internal lights - one white, and one red. Add a photocell and a very simple circuit. If ambient light around the fridge is above some threshold value, light the white light when the door is opened. If ambient light is below the threshold, light the red light. Adds a bit of cost, but not much. Or if you're worried about customers finding a red light repulsive, light the white light at night, but at 1/4 intensity. If you want to get *really* fancy, set it to ramp up the light slowly, so you don't get your eyes blasted at night.

This reminds me of the woman who put "help" on her pizza order, because she was in a domestic v*olence situation. This looks like this same thing. I'd call the local non-emergency police line, or better yet, go directly to the the police/sheriff's station, and show them this, and ask them to look into it. And honestly, I'd go back myself, look for the person who served me, and ask if they are okay and/or need help.

There was a woman who “called to order pizza” but called 911 (or equivalent emergency number). Dispatch tried to tell her she’d called the wrong number but when the woman persisted they figured out why she was calling. It must have been terrifying to make that call while not knowing what was going to happen.

Looks Like Someone Was Locked In The Basement Of The House We Just Bought
Just noticed that one room in the basement of the house we just bought has a steel door with the knob oriented so someone could get locked in the room. Then looked closer and noticed all these scratch marks around the knob on the inside of the door, and some dents too. There is a window in the room but it's small and high up so it would be hard for some people to get it open and get out of it.

My Chipped Mug Repaired Itself (I Live Alone)
Last year I bought these clay hand made mugs with my girlfriend in San Diego. I’m originally from there, but was only visiting, as I now live in the U.K. Mine is the brown one and hers is the blue one.
About 4 months ago I noticed that my mug had a decent sized chip in the handle, roughly about 10mm wide. It was quite noticeable, as you could see the exposed non-glazed clay, which was a lighter color and rough to the touch. I thought this was strange as I’ve never once knowing dropped it or dinked it. I’ve always hand washed it with care. But annoying as it was, things happen…things can get damaged.
A couple weeks goes by, and one morning I come downstairs to make a cup of tea. I go to grip the handle of my mug and notice it doesn’t feel rough anymore. I go to turn it around and notice the chip is completely gone. As if it had never even been broken in the first place. Nobody could have repaired it as I still currently live on my own. Plus, there are no hairline cracks in the handle to suggest that maybe the chipped piece had been glued back on (I never had the chipped piece to begin with when I first noticed the damage).
Lastly, the mug couldn’t have been swapped with a double, as these mugs came from 5,000 away and were all 1 of 1 unique to each other. Do clay mugs self heal? Am I missing something? Or do I need to get the hell out of my house?

Seems to me that the girlfriend may have locate the same mug most likely online and replaced the damaged one with this one.
