The internet is vast, and it feels pretty much infinite. And you know what that means? A never-ending supply of its favorite animals: cats. No matter where you look, there’s a feline for every mood—mischievous troublemakers, tiny kittens being unbearably cute, calm purring loafs, and chaotic agents of destruction. Whatever kind of cat content you’re craving, it’s out there.
And for your consideration today, we’ve put together a collection of hilarious posts from the subreddit Cat Memes. From silly expressions to full-on antics, these gems are perfect for melting away a bit of stress. Scroll down and enjoy.

She Is The Joy Of The Whole Family
Who TF returns a cat to the shelter for being “too playful”, ffs? Part of the point of rescuing an animal is to see them feel safe, secure, and comfortable enough for their real personalities to come through, for them to get kittenish (or puppyish, you get the idea) again and start being playful. That’s a beautiful thing to see happen, and the beginning of many wonderful years together, not a reason to return them to the shelter.
Turns out, Ella found the right home afterwards with humans who appreciated her extra playfulness.
Doubling down on glowworm2's comment here: Ella is in the perfect place!

I also believe that this is the cat saying this. Just found this random dude in their home.
Lucky you!! He's a handsome devil. HA! Just saw the 2nd caption... 🙃
Lives two doors up, and he has chosen your home as his second one, as he is aware he is safe there. All cats have a second home, the owners rarely ever know about!!:+}
I think most of us can agree on one thing: cats are basically walking comedy. We’re all eternally grateful for the laughs and happy emotions they give us. But do they actually have a sense of humor themselves? And what kind of emotions can they experience, can they be sad, disappointed, excited? If you’re a cat owner, you’d probably answer with a confident “yes.” But the truth is a lot more interesting than a one-syllable reply.

Like A Drunk
A water glass was left full on the coffee table, so Penelope hopped up, dipped her entire chin and jaw in the water and then took a drink. It's a daily ritual now; just before she hops up and drips water on my book. EVERY. MORNING. LOL!
MoonCake is contemplating a strategic attack on an orange and fluffy tail.
Cats that drink too much water often have some health issues ( i.e. diabetes)
😼 ☕
This whole collection of posts--with the ultra-hilarious comments--is a wonderful way to start my new year. What to go BPers! Happy New Year!
I would have pushed the coffee on to them, if it was a cold coffee drink, as I got up to leave.
I worked with a woman years ago who used to go with our group to the Auto Show each year. We mustered everyone at my house and my friend is sitting in the floor telling me how she doesn't like cats "cause they're sneaky" while my male cat is confidently strolling up to her for pets, that he got, from her. Cats can win people over on their own.
Cats are often portrayed as aloof, independent little creatures who only care about their own needs and couldn’t care less about humans. That couldn’t be further from the truth. They experience a wide range of feelings and can become genuinely attached to their owners.
According to Cats.com, cats can feel things like sadness and anxiety, and sometimes they’re just being silly.
The good news is, when they’re happy, they usually make it pretty clear. Cats have plenty of “I’m content” signals: purring, slow blinking like they’re giving you a tiny compliment, curling up close, or settling in so comfortably you start wondering if you’re the guest in their home.

Erm he’s not a stray cat op HES YOUR CAT NOW ! the cat distribution system has spoken ❤️
That chonker has several homes already and you have been added to the rotation.
How DARE you! You just haven't realized that he'll be there every day at the same time. Oh yeah, he's your cat now!!
Even Better
Haha .. cats also k**l possums( in Australia) and should be brought indoors before dark and kept inside until the sun is well up. Cute as the pic is
And in opposite world, when I was trying trap and "fix" feral cats, I caught possums at about a 5 to 1 ratio to cats
Guilty Of Doing This
Things heard multiple times in my house every day: "Where is your brother?" - "Did you just SMACK your sister??" - "Where does your brother think he's going?"- "Your sister better not have her head in the garbage bag again." - I have 6 cats and a dog. They are all probably sick of me bítching about each other to them by all now XD
We did that when one disappeared. Asked the other where she was. He led us to to the bedroom closet where she had curled up on some clothes.
yup- it is their responsiblity to know where their little buddies are
I have way too many cats distributed across a big house. At some point, I starting knowing when one of them is missing.
That said, purring isn’t always a guaranteed sign everything is purr-rfect. In rarer cases, a cat might purr when they’re stressed or in pain, almost like they’re trying to calm themselves down.
Kneading is another common sign they’re happy. And then there’s one that catches a lot of people off guard: drooling. That one genuinely surprised me the first time I saw it.
I used to think it was strictly a dog thing, so when a cat started drooling on me, I panicked like something was seriously wrong. Turns out, some cats drool when they’re extremely relaxed and content. Love that for them. My sleeve… not so much.

And then there was the day that my poor Miss Peep got packing tape stuck to her fluffy tail. The chaos was legendary
One of my ferals had two grass burrs stuck to his tail ... got the first one ... took weeks to get trust back to get the second ... I still get dirty looks.
We had a cat who got his head through the handle of a plastic and went nuts. Once we got it off him he would never get close to a plastic bag again.
That was the second time I got bitten and had to go to the walk-in centre for antibiotics. Not as painful as the first time, when my hand was so painful that I screamed when a magazine page brushed against it! Socialising cats at a rescue, they’ll probably be a third time, but I won't give up on any of them.
Need claws trimmed perhaps, but know what you mean, cats get stuck onto a lot of things that have you concerned if they pull or tear. My new full length voille bedroom curtains showed the latter, the new young cat leapt straight onto the middle of one and ziiiiiiiiit three deep downward slits still remain
Daily I talk to my kitty boi and ask if I can touch his hand. I lay a finger on one and remove it without doing anything else. I repeat this for his feet, tail, and places he’s ok with. Is he getting better about that? Ħell no!
Cats hate their paws touched because they are their weapons . It made sense when I was told that from a vet after trying to clip my 6 , have the groomer come in now

We can also influence their emotions more than we realize. Research from a 2020 study indicates that cats may become more anxious when their trusted humans show signs of anger rather than happiness, suggesting they can get upset when their human family members are.
Signs a cat may be experiencing negative emotions include hiding more, sleeping more, playing less, grooming less, or becoming more aggressive.
My Little Void 🖤
I have often walked around the corner, seen a black shape on the floor in an unexpected spot, and said "Oh! Kohl! You scared me." But it is not Kohl. It is an empty black trash bag. It is my black jeans lying where I shucked them off the other day. It is my art markers case. It is my Packsafe backpack. It is one of those IKEA cloth storage cubes. It is never Kohl.
Then, just when you think there’s nothing or no one there, the cat opens their eyes like two bright beacons in a black void.
Load More Replies...We have tuxedo cats. We have a flap cat door for them. It was raining and my husband noticed one of our cats outside their door. He was summoning him with sweet names to get inside. No reaction. Opened the main door and realised that he was sweet talking to an black and white umbrella that was left earlier near the flap cat door.
LOL. My oldest son would feel your pain. We had a charcoal gray cat that was a stray & turned into the biggest snuggle buddy ever. One morning my son is talking to the cat who would always meow back & he wasn't meowing. He didn't have his glasses on & was talking to 1 of his shoes & didn't know it until he put his glasses on.
That's hilarious. I have often talked to a crumpled white plastic bag thinking it was my guy Sasha!
I see the dark blob on my bed, I used to once, now it is that old, folded shirt or blanket
We have a very dark blue neck pillow on the sofa. I talk to it, apologize to it, etc. every day.
Heartbreaking
I laugh when I read on our local media that a cat has been "rescued" and that it was very hungry...
That’s How They Did It All This While
I especially like the kitten at the right studiously watching the whole thing. I wonder if this is a training or demonstration session or something.
Spilled my coffee laughing after reading this, because I can hear my daughter saying those words when I hug my wife!
Load More Replies...And here’s the funny part: cats also seem to find us entertaining. So maybe we can argue they have a sense of humor, just one that mostly involves silently judging our life choices. Some experts have even suggested cats may view humans as big, clumsy cats.
“They obviously know we’re bigger than them, but they don’t seem to have adapted their social behavior much. Putting their tails up in the air, rubbing around our legs, and sitting beside us and grooming us are exactly what cats do to each other… cats behave toward us in a way that’s indistinguishable from [how] they would act toward other cats,” Author and cat behaviorist John Bradshaw shared with National Geographic. “They do think we’re clumsy: Not many cats trip over people, but we trip over cats.”
That Sad Look :(
We used to feed the cat next door when they went on holiday. He was a beautiful, large, British Blue. He would stand at the top of the stairs and emit, the most sad, sorrowful, squeak. Eventually we gained his trust and he would come down for a cuddle and scritches.
"Where have you been? Do you know there was a strange hooman entering our house while you were gone? I kept a watch on them but you better check to see if anything's missing."
Had the same thing here. Decades ago, my BIL house and cat-sit for a weekend while he watched LeMans. Back then, Speedchannel broadcast the whole 24-hour race. We had 4 cats at the time, and he never saw our orange boy the entire time.
Sure, Sure . . . 🎄🎄🎄😹😹😹
Any cat or child would logically assume that chair put up so close to the tree is there to ease the access.
I had an artificial tree that shed branches. Why? Because a certain stinker stood with his back feet on tree branch, his front legs wrapped around the upright, and *shoved* with those back feet.
Brace Yourselves For The Florida Cat…
Just ask all the pregnant local female cats. His name ought be Romeo!
Of course, cats are also famous for doing things that look… mischievous. Is it because they find it amusing? Maybe. But it also depends on what we label as “naughty.” What looks like bad behavior to us might just be normal cat logic to them.
Take the universal feline pastime: knocking things off tables and shelves. Keys, toys, pens, glasses—nothing is safe. It might be the bane of your existence, yet it starts to feel a little less personal once you understand why cats get so hypnotized by a single object perched near the edge.

I used to think that the tongue hanging out was a cute affectation until I learned it was a lack of toofs to hold it in.

Variety Never Looked So Cute
We rescued a kitten she was about 6 months old. I saw her getting knocked up in my backyard and we took her inside. It was obvious that her litter of four proved to have two dads. Two of her kittens had mostly her color with a little bit of a black and white tux cat and her other two kittens had their other dad's coloring of gray with just a little bit of her tan color. Mama is a calico & so docile.

Onward To The Treat Bag!! 😼😼😼
According to PetMD, there are a few reasons they can’t resist doing it. One is instinct. Cats are predators, and they’re hardwired to react to movement. A small object sitting on the edge of a counter might as well be a tiny prey animal that needs to be tested with a paw. The pushing and dramatic slow-motion launch are all part of the experience.
Or they’ve learned the most powerful life lesson of all: cause a minor inconvenience, and a human will appear immediately. Some cats absolutely knock things over on purpose because they know you’ll rush in, talk to them, pick it up, and give them attention. Basically: performance art.

I hope it was in stock. I once had to go to three different stores to find the proper food. I was frantic that my poor cat would starve before I got back. Thankfully he pulled through.
The wasted expensive cat food refused by cats boggles the mind. Mine eat or starve.
Yet more proof cats are in charge have been since the very beginning
In just a few more years he'll be evolved enough to know to always keep several backup choices.
So yes—cats can be silly, and by our standards, they’re definitely funny. Because honestly, if someone knocked your stuff over on purpose just to get your attention, you’d have to admit that’s… kind of clever. Some cats are bigger comedians than others, some are calmer and more chill, but one thing stays the same: they’re all pretty amazing.

Rudyard Kipling: "When the body that lived at your single will - With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!) - When the spirit that answered your every mood - Is gone—wherever it goes—for good - You will discover how much you care - And will give your heart to a dog to tear." --- it's a poem about dogs (obviously) but applies to cats and all the rest of our beloved pets :(

Years ago, there was a feral cat who lived around our apartment building who had litter after litter of kittens. We'd see them skulking around the property, eating food that was left for them. And then one time, out of the litter, she had one very self-possessed orange kitten who just wasn't about that feral life. All it took was a can of tuna and the promise of the easy life for him to move in and become our first kid.
I was so happy when my lazy cat finally caught "the" mouse. He played with it and let it go. That mouse is going to die of old age.

My cat was headed for the litter box room and puked on the way. I put him in the bathroom (anticipating the follow up puke) while I cleaned up. Let him out five minutes later and while he didn’t have a follow up, he pooped on the bathroom rug. It was not a good 3 am wake up.
