A wise guy once said that "no man is an island" but boy, do some of us wish we were. Solo. In silence. Stranded out in the middle of the beautiful sea. Just me, myself and I. Peopling can sometimes get exhausting, even for the extroverted among us. But for introverts, suffering through the crowded world with unsolicited company and small talk can be pure t*****e.
If you'd rather lay low and often find yourself canceling weekend plans in favor of solitude, you're not alone. Yes, we said it... According to the Myers-Briggs Company, around 56.8% people around the world prefer introversion. Some of them can be found sipping tea while scrolling through social media.

True. My angry side is an exception, an extreme caused by extraordinary circumstances.
Literally every human gets angry. Having a normal emotion isn't something we judge others for. It's why you get angry, how you act when you are angry, how you handle things after you calmed down. THAT'S what we judge people on. Nobody judges you for being angry your wife died. We DO judge you for punching a barista in the face because you are angry your wife died.
Load More Replies...Oh man I really needed to hear that. I hate myself when I am angry and always somewhat feel like I have imposter syndrome when I am being nice and kind. It's so true though, humans are complicated creatures and we have a rainbow of emotions. It shouldn't mean that we are fake or bad.
OK, but hear me out. We don't hide the nice things about ourselves, there is no reason to. We hide the ugly and that is what slips out when we let our guard down. That doesn't mean they are our "true colours" though, our true colours are our conscience that knows right from wrong but can't win every battle every time regardless.
Your dark side is not you, but it is a part of who you are, and anyone wanting a long-term relationship deserves to know that side of you too. Because they are absolutely going to have a few run-ins with it over a long enough timeline!
Perhaps for a brief (drunk) moment it's part of you...for ex, if you're atheist and someone convinces you God exists while you're drunk...you won't consider for a sec you were actually religious for a moment
Load More Replies...When you're angry, the way you behave tells a lot about you. My boss' husband heard I don't bother with optional webinars and leaned over me, shaking his fists angrily. I'm a short young woman and he's a huge old man. Who knows I'm from an a*****e family. For him, it was nothing, for me it's yet another trauma.
This was actually good to see. I have just had a falling out with someone who has been taking their stress out on me for quite a while, I've tried to not take it personally but eventually snapped and met their anger with my own anger. I didn't say anything I don't stand for but I could have been nicer about how I said it. Unfortunately this person is not interested in talking things over, they think because I snapped once thats it, those are my true feelings and anything else I say after is fake.
It's OK to feel the negative emotions sometimes. You just have to have self-control and not let them overwhelm you and become the dominant quality.
That is very astute and quite profound. I'm definitely going to remember this.
nobody thinks anger is showing your "true colors," we think the WAY you handle anger, what you do and how you treat people, how you deal with the aftermath...tHAT shows true colors. A good man can get furious because the world has wronged him, nobody judges him. A terrible man can get furious because a subordinate questioned an order, and in that fury kicks the family dog. THAT shows true colors. Anger is just an emotion, having it is human. How you act, what you do, that'syour character.
Well, yeah...you wouldn't say that someone who kicked a puppy "nice to animals" even if you know they've gone years without kicking a puppy. You are expected to control yourself enough that you don't have "angry days" or episodes. And everyone has bad times, has days they react poorly. It's not that your "nice days" get ignored, it's that the only way to counteract the impression you make with one "angry day" is to take responsibliity and DEAL with it.
There's validity in this. After all, what good is it to be kind and positive and happy when everything is perfect? I want to be around people who can STAY kind and positive and happy even when things don't go their way. It's like that dating test of seeing how a date treats servers. If they are kind only to people "at their level," then they aren't actually kind.
I have a saying , I don’t have an attitude problem ! My attitude depends on how stupid you are lol
and the extravert becomes the introvert who wants to see no one and speak to no one and never leaves the house? Yep, that is me.
I started learning to play a completely new instrument. Some of the early pieces of practice music play in my head even in my dreams.
My wife and I in the kitchen - "You're in my way" ... "says the person who's in MY way!"
Nonsense. When I change my phone I get money back for returning it in good condition. Nothing says "good condition" like original packaging.
In high school, I had a history text book that belonged to some satanist and/or top-tier edgelord, complete with pentagrams, some Latin chants, prayers to Satan etc. I had to resist the urge to sprinkle it with holy water 😅
Sometimes I wake up at 5am and think, "I'm going to get loads done today". And then I accomplish one small task, sit down and the next thing I know it's 5pm.
What am I supposed to do now? Start tv program dating all over again? It's stupid how much of a void this can leave sometimes.
this is me literally every fricken day, and I hate it, but I can't change it. ):
Or communicate through glances and looks and you can both look at your phones
Along with useless pop culture trivia, nearly the entire dialogue of the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and so many songs stored in the long term section of my brain. Also jokes, both bad and dad, puns, and somewhere in there, making himself known at the worst times, is a 13 year old's dirty sense of humor.
This hits really close to home. I was the most well behaved idiot you ever saw.
Ok, but when it's the mental health specialists who do that, it's just cruel. I suffered through 3 sessions of family therapy, I was criticised, invalidated or ignored, while parents could insult me openly. I said the abuse led me to neglect my guinea pig and she died of hunger. Parents and both therapists immediately told me guinea pigs die, rodents don't live long.
Someone, anyone, quick teach me. I live in the states and well... f**k me I think this is the only option left at this point.
I won't stop procrastinating until something bad happens because of it, but if something bad happens then I have to deal with the consequences, so the only solution is to procrastinate and not fail.🥲
My humor is very dark. I have to be careful. A lot of people don't get me.
I don't think I would resist a kidnapping most days. I'd be like "can we swing by McDonald's though?"
it be great if people stop asociating intovert with mental illness, just becase we dont like people doesnt mean we are mentaly ill, depressed or wanted to die. Maybe extroverts need to shut the f**k up and make place more comfrotable....
It'd be great if you stopped saying that introverts don't like people, as well. An introvert doesn't inherently dislike people or being around people. We just need to make sure we get the appropriate amount of time alone. That's literally all it means.

I feel sorry for all people who did these "memes" and are meaning them. Some are hard to read and not funny at all. Breaks my heart 💔
"How often do you find yourself canceling plans for solitude?" Answer: Rarely - I don't make plans in the first place.
The title of this is currently "If You Were In a Bad Mood, These Priceless Memes Aimed At Introverts Might Cheer You Up" WTAF??? No, I don't think they did.
Instagram for a change, rather than Reddit, written by folks who haven't a clue what introvertism is!
There is a difference between being introverted and being shy. I know I am both with strangers. Get me with a close friend and I won’t STFU, but I need a break after a while. Doesn’t mean we’re mentally ill or weird (I think statistically more people identify as introverted than extroverted?), introverts just need to recharge after human interaction.
" How often do you find yourself canceling plans for solitude? " My answer is Never. I value solitude to the point where I just don't make plans that would interfere, so I have nothing to cancel.
The Radetzky March by Strauss is great to listen to if you are feeling "all p i s s e d off about being dragged down by an extrovert that hasn't a clue about introverts" Great stuff! They made proper music back in them thar days.
As i said earlier, copy/pasted from Reddit or Instagram where the original posters haven't a clue what "introvert" actually means.
