40 Interesting Things People Discovered And Thought You Should Too (New Pics)
It is said that a picture speaks a thousand words but we'd beg to differ. Some pictures speak only a few, short words while others tell a long and fascinating story. Think about this for a moment: one photo shows a plain white wall. The other features two cows who have just been washed and blow dried. Which of the two would you look at for longer?
Fortunately, the internet is a goldmine when it comes to fascinating images. Moments frozen in time that make you stop mid-scroll and get lost in the stories they're telling. Often there's no context needed, just a whole lot of curiosity. There's an entire online community dedicated to all things interesting. Simply called Interesting, it's had more than 5 million visitors this year alone. And it's not hard to see why.
The page is a wall of awe-inspiring, cute, funny, thought-provoking posts and pics featuring everything under the sun. From alpacas that have just been shaved, to a pepper shaped like it's crouching in the corner after a bad break-up. Bored Panda has put together our favorite images from the community for anyone who feels like some great short stories but isn't in the mood to read words right now. No theme, no agenda, no attempt to be viral. Just a bunch of posts for you to scroll through while you ponder how interesting the world actually is.

A Reminder To Wear Your Helmet
I unfortunately witnessed what happens when a motorcyclist doesn't wear a helmet and hits a car head on. The sound is something I will never forget. Please wear a good helmet and leathers.
Littlemiss: your advice is excellent - don't anyone ride a motorcycle without a helmet, not ever. In a contest between a human head and concrete/tarmac/whatnot, guess what has the advantage? But also: these days, there's protective gear for motorcyclists (and others in such need) made from synthetic fibres which does a better job than leather in most cases. Having said that, I've not met anything that'll beat leather for the outside of gloves or boots.
Load More Replies...I'd have been dead at age 25 (I'm 50 now) if I didn't wear a helmet every time I ride a horse. Bike helmets are important too! There's a saying in the horse world - "If you think your hairstyle is more important than your brain, you may be right." 😁
If you have never ridden on a motorcycle before, let me tell you that hitting a bee sized bug is more painful than one would think. Having driven through a small swarm of lovebugs, I assure you that my helmet looked similar, as did my jacket, gloves, pants, and even the tips of my shoes!
Load More Replies...Top Left - bugs. Top Right & Bottom Left - scraped against tarmac. Bottom Right - hooked under a bus and being dragged.
The bottom right, how long would you have to slide in your head for that to happen?
From the original post: "He slid under the bus (between the two front wheels, thank god) and some part of his clothes got hooked onto the bus. The scrape on his helmet is so deep and even because he was dragged by the bus until it came to a stop. If he had just come to a stop on his own, the helmet wouldn't be like this, but since it took as long for him to stop as the bus took, this is what happened. "
Load More Replies...Friend of mine wearing helmet, leathers and sturdy boots went too fast round a bend started to topple and put his hand down for support - his arm right up past his elbow disappeared in a red streak on the road. He wasn't wearing his usual leather gauntlets.
150 years of automotive safety improvements and motorcycles get...nothing?
I've had a dozen dreams where I'm riding and I realize I'm not wearing my helmet. In the last few, I've thought, "Oh c**p, this is just like in my dreams!"
Worst I ever saw was in the mid 80's, 2 guys racing at fairly high dpeed up an down a hlf mile road in a new almost vacant industrial park behind where I worked. We suddenly heard a loud crash one guy kept going out to the main road and gone, the other bike engine reved very fast and cut off. It turned out an older lady had turned onto that road by mistake and the motorcycle racing Down the wrong side hit her head on, his helmet rolled about 50 yards away with his head still in it.

That is OK - if you have the water. Took part in a table top exercise once. Question came up about turning on sprinklers and one of the town employees figured that if everyone did and left them running that the reservoir would be empty in a fairly short time (can't recall but it was a matter of hours). Look up Firesmart and sprinklers.
