I was at a cafe last weekend and we were using the QR menu, purely because we were seated right at the back of the place. The waitress had to come out at least three times to say they were out of something or clarify something. Would have been better if we just went and ordered at the counter.

I'm ok with the QR code menu. But I want a server to take my order, so I can ask questions. I also know I order less with a QR menu; I couldn't be bothered to scroll back and forth. Just order a main dish and done.

Why not have both. I like the convenience of the QR system allowing me to see a menu, place an order, pay, all without having to wait for someone else do it for me. I work in IT, so I absolutely see the need to have the physical menu as well, if as a backup for when the whole system fails. Also, some people just don't like using their phones for this type of stuff. Definitely against the whole tipping culture. It's got way out of hand, especially, as mentioned, being asked for a tip before you have received any service. That's bad form. I will gladly tip good service providers, but not before they provide the service.

Isn't it better to be afraid to smoke or drink? That way, people are more cautious about them. They aren't exactly good for your health anyway. (I mostly think of smoking when I say this. I don't drink personally, but I am fine with others drinking in moderation.)

Reminds me of my twenties. Part time waitress, no days off, living in a dump where the other tenants were hookers and glue sniffers and the rent collector was a Mafia enforcer.
