On This Instagram Page, People Share Unpopular Opinions And Here Are 50 Of The Most Polarizing Ones (New Posts)
Everyone is entitled to having their own beliefs. Some people keep them to themselves. Some like to blare them out every chance they get. And others have views so unconventional, they completely go against the status quo.
When not every opinion is greeted with open arms, we’re lucky to have the internet where we can spark a discussion with complete strangers. There’s an Instagram account dedicated to sharing some of the best posts from the popular subreddit called Unpopular opinion. From electric vehicles to stuffed animals, members of this community have something to say about virtually any aspect of life.
So get ready to dive into some of the best posts this account had to offer. Upvote the ones you agree with, and, if you want to stir some emotions, share your own disputable views in the comments below. Psst! After you’re done, be sure to check out Part 1 of this post right here.

I agree, too many times people feel entitled due to their age. You don't owe anyone anything. Congrats on the souvenir and the story you will be able to tell your friends and family.
In Finland, speeding tickets are income based. Just as an example.
Sometimes, we're discouraged from expressing our unpopular opinions because of the adverse reactions we might get from the people around us. Whether we’re talking about politics, religion, or popular culture, sharing our deepest beliefs can make someone feel pretty irritated.
However, while some end up scratching their heads from confusion, others see a like-minded person and gladly show their support in heated discussions. After all, a controversial point of view does not instantly mean that it’s uncommon. When you push your fears of being the odd one to the side, it’s much likely you'll encounter others sharing the same thoughts as you.
Brandwatch, a digital consumer intelligence company, was on a mission to investigate the most popular unpopular opinions on social media. They looked at consumers’ mentions from January 1 to June 30, 2020, excluding news, retweets, and shares. Results showed that 1.6M people shared their controversial beliefs in this period. Also, there were 34% more mentions during the lockdown compared to the four months prior.
Greed and narcissism... it's sad, but it's human nature. The majority of the people out there are fake as heck, and will do things like posting videos of themselves crying on the internet as PR moves, to help promote and enhance their brands, to help them gain those clicks, likes, follows, and subscribes. Even more sad is that there ARE the odd few out there who honestly have no one and no where else to turn to, and are using the internet to reach out. But those odd genuine few are usually buried and overshadowed by all the loud popular influencers out there, with their TikToks and viral videos and their memes.
Harassment is the right word. What happened to Diana and other famous people with the paparazzi actually haunting them, spying and giving no Fu*ks. But here's a thought: Who the hell buys those rag mag's is an accomplice bc if they stop buying that filth then the paparazzi will (nearly) go away or at least be way less.
When it comes to the topics people touch on, the top ones were about characters in pop culture, TV shows, dislike of fandoms, and books. People shared their complaints about some of the bestsellers of the century and aired their grievances about how some shows have become outdated. For example, 34K mentions called out Friends "for being hugely popular, despite some aspects not being acceptable today."
The researchers also looked into Reddit, where 958K users shared their gripes. "It seems like lockdown got to Reddit users, too. Posts to r/UnpopularOpinions increased 105%." They found that many of these mentions touched on things that happened on the platform itself. Most of them were focused on sports players, subreddits, and seeing change as not being good.
I read a quote before, wouldn't it be safer to fire blanks at someone than fire bullets at someone with a bullet proof vest
So while it can be fun to share your controversial views online, they also let others say opposing views, have heated discussions, and see things from different perspectives. Anna Akbari, P.hD., is a sociologist, writer, and speaker who shared her thoughts on why unpopularity isn’t necessarily a bad thing in a piece on The Psychology Today.
She explained that if we want to be happy, successful, and feel of service, we don’t actually need to appeal to the masses. "See, we’re complicated beings, each with our own unique experiences, full of biases and contradictions and, hopefully, a point of view," she wrote. "Having a point of view is a good thing, even when that view isn’t universally embraced."
You ruined it with "sure they're cute" because that's the whole point, they're NOT cute, people have just been trained into thinking they are. People need to realise that inbred dogs with serious health problems are the exact opposite of cute.
100% - the cheater is the one at fault - unless the people they cheated with is also someone who you have a relationship with then it's equal blame as they both owe you loyalty. I've never understood the blame being passed to the person they cheat with, and it's usually women who blame the other woman when their guy cheats - I sure there's a patriarchal link to all that that could be deciphered but seriously, they're just a shitty person if they knew he was involved with someone - if they didn't then they're just as much a victim in it all. This idea that men can't help themselves if offered sex has to stop - you don't accidentally have sex - yeah, you may regret it after but you totally know what you're doing while you're doing it.
While we can wholeheartedly stand by one issue, we can also not see eye to eye on another. "Agreeing to disagree on most things in life is fine—assuming it doesn’t restrict the liberty or human rights of others. It’s when we start to think that we need to agree on everything all the time to merely function together that we get into trouble," Akbari mentioned.
Needless to say, popularity isn’t essentially bad. Lots of things that are commonly and generally accepted by our society are considered as "safe". Akbari explained that we don’t have to immediately or categorically reject the popular stuff but rather "selectively embrace it, or at least occasionally challenge it."
Yes, it really should be free. I have been in therapy on and off for years and it has been free (/paid by taxes). It's due to mental health issues so free healthcare = free mental healthcare. I learned a lot and cope much better. I wish it was available to all who needs it. To hear that people live with anxiety, ptsd, depression etc and can't afford therapy to learn how to cope better is really, REALLY sad.
And then self medicate with drugs/alcohol, and end up as addicts
Load More Replies...Well, mental healthcare is still healthcare. Most countries treat it as such. So it all comes out to not having socialised healthcare again...
That's not an accurate statement. I'm Canadian. We have universal healthcare. Therapy is not included.
Load More Replies...ALL MEDICINE AND HEALTH CARE SHOULD BE FREE! WE ARE THE U.S. OF A FOR CRYING OUTLOUD!
When I needed therapy, I went to the student led clinic at my local university, where you could get a series of sessions with a student in their final year of study for practically nothing (they have to work a certain number of hours at the clinic to get their degree). Not only did I get really good care, but because the student was about my own age it also meant we connected really well. I'm doing so much better now.
Problem: the therapist's paychecks?? It's all fine and good for those getting help (and I totally believe that everybody deserves access) but it is literally someone's job...
I'm assuming you're American and don't understand how universal healthcare works. We pay taxes. Those taxes pay for healthcare. All practitioners are paid, and paid well. No one is saying that therapists shouldn't be paid. We're saying that people shouldn't have to pay $200 per session to see someone qualified.
Load More Replies...Therapy should be funded by the government or by the company you work for. There I fixed it. Saying therapy should be free is saying that the professionals that spent time and money to be a therapist don't deserve to be paid. What you want to say is it needs to be subsidized for those who cannot afford it but need it.
Nobody interpreted this as meaning the people who provide the service shouldn't be paid. Every country with 'free' healthcare pays their medical professionals, out of taxes, national insurance etc.
Load More Replies...Be very careful with this. Just note, there is a difference between psychology, therapy, psychiatry, counselling and a mental health clinician. Anyone can just label themselves as a therapist or a counsellor. But they don't have the license and allowance to diagnose and treat people with mental health disorders and illnesses. People have to want the help and accept they have a problem first. Narcissists will never admit they are a problem to others.
100% correct. In the UK there are at least two organisations that you can join that hold you to a high standard of practice as a counsellor (the BACP is the first that comes to mind). It's voluntary to join but they do audit their members and even can send 'mystery shopper' clients to check you're adhering to the ethical framework. I wouldn't see a therapist who wasn't a member of a reputable organisation. And I wouldn't see a psychiatrist full stop but that's another story.
Load More Replies...Also, children should be taught coping skills throughout their education. Imagine if we incorporated some basic coping mechanisms in early childhood so that they were habit by the time they were needed...
Fun fact: liberals are twice as likely to suffer from some sort of mental health issue compared to independents or conservatives. Females 18-29 with vote liberal are the highest demographic to suffer from some sort of mental health issue.
Wait... for real??? Other countries have free mental healthcare as a part of their socialized healthcare?!?! I truly had no idea. It never even occurred to me to ask. Nearly half of my family members are absolutely suffering with their mental health right now, and there are zero available, affordable resources in my area. Most of them end up self-medicating. Arrrgggghhhh. What is wrong with my country???
Some do, yes. Not all. Canada does not include mental health care in our universal healthcare. They're starting to, but resources are extremely limited, so it isn't accessible at all.
Load More Replies...Or, like schools, it’s funded by the government. You don’t have to pay anything, it’s jsut covered by your taxes.
You literally pay school tax and have to provide everything your child needs....
Load More Replies...I think many of these things mentioned should be taught in school and by parents though as well. Then therapy probably wouldn't even be needed if coping skills etc were taught at an early age.
Well, that would be great, but when you say 'it should be taught in schools' you need to be able to take out some of the stuff already taught in schools to make space for it because frankly, teachers are already having to educate children about too many things they should have learned from their parents.
Load More Replies...Perhaps you could be the one to finance the subsidy of the service? Therapists (the good ones) should be paid for their service at the level they provide service. If they will do as much good in the community as the post suggests, they should be paid MORE not less.
No one is entitled to the fruits of someone else's labor without fair and voluntary compensation. And that includes stealing someone else's money to pay for something you want. I agree certain things should be more affordable, but realize that the reason they are so expensive is because of government interference.
The issue is not, "It should be free." The issue is, "How do you make it free?" Therapists need to be paid by someone. Quality therapists will not work for free, and too many free therapists will be such low quality that you are worse off than no therapy. Since everyone in the world (literally) would benefit from some level of therapy, insurance companies can't afford it (under the current system in the US at least.) So, solve the problem.
I'm a Therapist and I find it interesting the idea of "free" therapy. In my experience when dealing with state or federal insurance (Medicare/Medicaid-the only "free" healthcare in the US), you're paid far less and have a huge amount of regulation, paperwork and other nonsense you don't have with other insurance. Also, if you don't adhere to the T to every (constantly changing) regulation, you get audited and have to pay the $ back. There's also a law as part of it where if people no show, regardless of the reason, it's illegal to bill them. I'm a socialist at heart but our current government-run programs leave so much to be desired most avoid them.
That's because the US system is broken. Other countries do it and pay their practitioners well.
Load More Replies...I agree, however, this is a rather difficult goal to achieve. Therapists and psychologists still have to make money as do the companies and hospitals they work for. There is absolutely no reason for the ridiculous price gouging that the American Healthcare system has but to make therapy free would not be easy.
A lot of the rest of the world manages it, a variety of therapies are available on the NHS.
Load More Replies...Dads aren't abusive because they can't gripe: they can, and they do, gripe to their wives and anyone who will stand still long enough to listen. They're abusive because they want to be.
De Blasio gave $1B to his wife's ThriveNYC mental health program. Suppose it helped?
It’s on insurance companies in the US- they want to pay doctoral level providers minimum wage🙄
I don’t know about this one. I mean yes, it shouldn’t be super expensive, but I’ve been looking into becoming a therapist later in life, and it takes 10-12 years minimum. That’s only college and whatnot. This is a long time and those people deserve good money. I’m surprised they’re not paid more than they are. And this also depends on the type of therapy too.
Check out church-based orgaizations (as an example) for sliding-scale fees? Again, as an example, I paid $1 per 1-hour session when working part time and earning minimum wage (the student years).
I agree in general but I the comment about child abuse dropping if dad got to vent is a bit tricky. If it's out of desperation over a crying child it's probably more the mom that would profit, I doubt that dads who are violent towards children would be able to solve their issues with a bit of therapy every now and then.
The only problem with free therapy I see is how to you regulate quality of therapy. Just because one has an office doesn't make them any good. There is already of problem where therapists and clients match poorly without the added pressure of going out of business because no one likes your therapy how does one keep only the good ones? Bad therapy is worse then none. And I get it make the government pay, but that isn't going to get you excellent healthcare let alone mental healthcare. You are going to get crap and suffer more because you got the public defender of mental health therapists.
Besides that, if almost everyones going maybe well get somewhere with mental health stuff, itll be normal vs some big taboo
After one of our family needed therapy my husband stated he now knew why they were called 'shrinks' because the shrink you bank balance.
If we make therapy free, where do we draw the line? People need fair compensation for their services, and the Left are the ones always crying about higher wages. If everyone is getting paid $25 per hour, what can therapists ask to be making? And, if the govt is funding the therapy, where will they get the money for that? Oh right, TAXES...
I agree I mean I need therapy net it’s to expensive and everyone seems to be full. The worst part is I need a lot of help for multiple things. And I’m still under 16 by a few years!
I wish therapists took insurance. Obviously people with mental illness are usually incapable of working hence they can’t pay for a therapist. It’s a vicious cycle.
Most people don't need therapy Just get on with it If it were free people who have never needed it will take advantage Double the price and put off time wasters after kicking their a**e
The problem with Dad talking to a therapist is Dad has to be willing to go. My mother suffered from some pretty horrible mental health issues. She refused to get therapy because she thought all therapists were useless and that she didn't have any problems. The actual Primary Doctor told her she suffered from Social Paranoia...she never went back to him again.
Wish they would do that and for prescriptions. Make things affordable
Absolutely. It would be a much better world if so many sob went to fix their issues.
Therapy costs around $240/year. At a maximum, if a doctor thinks you need it. At least it does in my country. And if you cannot cash up that kind of money, the state will cover for you.
No, because those who are in denial and are avoidant would still find an excuse to not go. No, because you can't treat the rapist out of someone, and no, the most manipulative narcissistic types will never reveal themselves to any professional and are untreatable. Yes, it should not be elitist and exclusive, nor a luxury.
Remember the saying you get what you pay for. I get it as a struggled emotionally amd financially for most of my life. Homeless many times. Mental and emotional.issues from severe abuse. Family members institutionalized. But frwe therapy will be getting what you pay for. Human nature is one obstacle in a countless list. People only value something they earn/pay for. Another is that skill and expertise cost time, effort, and money. Why would the therapist invest thos energy into the skills amd expertise needed for no benefit to themselves? And no, paid by taxes is not free. Taxes are your money that government took from you, your neighbors, etc. You'll only receive a small percentage of the money that was confiscated from you back from the government even under the best of circumstances. A majority of the funds will always be used to finance the bloat in the organization. That said, everyone ahould have the opportunity and access to the help they need with mechanisms for them to earn.th
Jesus. You've been homeless and you're still regurgitating neo liberal American propaganda. This is why the civilised world had given up on your country.
Load More Replies...I'm a licensed counselor with 25 years of experience and I could not agree more. I want a living wage, don't get me wrong, but it is an important part of health!
We can attack the American healthcare system yet again but a lot of insurance companies are starting to cover therapy at no cost. Mine does. Mental well-being feeds into physical well-being. Who knew. (Sarcasm)
Now, find a counselor *accepting new patients* that is covered by your insurance... And I mean even if you pay out of pocket and submit for reimbursement. I'm up to about twenty nopes into my current search. No time & not on my plan. How am I covered again? Why are we so proud of the USA? We do everything to shirk responsibility for taking care of each other and have some of the worst human metrics of all 1st world countries. We proudly fail at what so, so many other people do for their fellow citizens willingly, proudly. We let people die routinely and essentially blame them for it. We suck our loud here. Loudly, proudly and oh so willingly. So much shame.
Load More Replies...Guys, guys, guys. This is only a problem in the US and maybe Lesotho (not sure about Lesotho) where there is no universal healthcare. Everybody else got this already and it's not free per se. People pay it with their taxes and insurance fees. Everyone. It works very good. And if you can't did it - it's free. You should try it sometime. Instead of making the riches of the rich even richer while you work your asses off for medical bills...
Eh, this sounds good in theory but isn't really thought through. I mean, where are all these 'free' therapists going to come from? You'd have to pay me a lot of money to sit there listening to people's problems all day.
As has been said in other comments, universal healthcare where everyone contributes a little through taxes. It works in most countries.
Load More Replies...And the therapists should get their rent or mortgage paid and their utilities, as long as they are working therapists and actually help the people they see.
This absolutely makes sense and would benefit society immensely, which is why it will be called "SOSHLIZM!!!!!!!" and be completely rejected in the United States.
All medical care should be free, and mental health care is medical care. Americans have been brainwashed to not demand services in exchange for their taxes. What a bunch of idiots we are! There isn't a developed country on earth that doesn't have universal care except for us. We just continue year after year funding the military industrial complex instead of taking care of each other. I'm tired of people coming to the ER for basic medical care because they can't access it anywhere else. I'm tired of people driving critically ill people to the ER because they can't afford to call 911. It's disgusting to see people with treatable medical conditions neglect them because they can't afford their medications or regular medical care. We are literally killing each other because we refuse to demand socialized medicine.
I think Americans need to really question this. Your obsession with therapy seems to me to be an internalisation of the idea that the individual is to blame for everything and the individual has to fix it. This allows your government, your employers, your corporations to get away with a lot. Maybe the dad who 'takes it out on the kids' is stressed because his wage is so low that they are constantly in poverty. Maybe the person with anxiety who can't sleep is that way because they are so close to being homeless. I would say that having a just and equitable society would be a lot better for people than free therapists. Therapists are basically just helping people to accept the whip across their backs.
I disagree that they should be free. Are you seriously justifying FORCING the therapist to work for you? Seems like some type of slavery to me.
There are plenty of countries that provide their citizens with free medical care, including counselling. So we're talking about the US (again). If you call your local county health department, they can put you in touch with counselling that will help people with no or lousy insurance, that is free, or services on a sliding scale according to your ability to pay. Do not rely on your insurance provider to tell you, because they don't.
The problem is that those providers are overworked and underpaid. High turnover and minimal time with clients will not foster a strong counselor-patient relationship.
Load More Replies...Not resistance, but you neglected to offer a funding source. If you’re in America like me, we would need to accept socialized medicine. And you MUST know, that ain’t never gonna happen here. Too many Republicans, and too many red necks who think, “If it’s not the good ole U S of A, it’s FREAKIN COMMUNISM “
Free therapy is called friends and family, people these days are so obsessed with online "friends" that they seem to have lost the ability to have actual friends. Often it's the popular people in high school who have no true friends, who suffer later on
I'm not sure my friends and family are really qualified to listen to the kinds of things I need therapy for.
Load More Replies...I don't use those sites anymore. If you want me to subscribe, or permit adverts in my ad blocker, or click a cookie thing every time, I just bounce. Enjoy your bouncerate and zero ad revenue. ALSO. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD stop with the f*****g animated adverts. They drive my poor ADHD ass crazy. I can't stand it.
However, if your views are not clinging to the mainstream popular or if they tend to stir some unexpected or even rude reactions, "don't despair. You don’t need to bend toward conformity, and you may even be able to cash in—financially and socially—on stepping outside the conventional bounds."
She mentioned two rules that people who tend to lean into unpopularity should remember. The first one is that you should actually believe what you’re saying or doing. "Disagreeing for the sport of it is annoying and, rightfully, no one likes or respects you if you do that. So stop it," the sociologist advised.
In many cases I would agree but in many I would not. For example If an employee of mine turned out to be a KKK member, or they were videoed ridiculing a disabled person I would fire them without hesitation.
Retired teacher here, so let me weigh in on the realities. For elementary school kids, I'd overwhelmingly vote yes. Younger kids want to please the teacher; they want to be around the teacher, around other kids, in class. HOWEVER, as someone who taught middle and high school for 26 years, this does not work at all. By that time, there are a lot of kids who are looking for any way to leave the classroom. Yes, there are times they need to use the bathroom, but quite often they also want to socialize. There have been groups in certain years (not all by any means) that texted and met up in bathrooms and fought, too. It helps if a teacher has a sign in/out pass, or gives a certain number of tickets per month. Other children who don't have to use the bathroom COULD give a classmate a ticket if they felt generous.
"The second rule is to embrace your unpopular opinions with the knowledge and grace that not everyone shares your point of view," she continued. This rule can be quite tough since we humans have a general tendency to want others to agree with us. After all, it makes us feel heard and valued.
However, following this guideline "starts with a promise to both give up convincing other people to buy into your less popular opinions and to stop shaming them for their own thoughts and actions."
My previous boss (who was an absolute jerk!) used to say "there's a line of people waiting to take your place, if you quit." I did quite eventually. Seven years later and... my place is still unoccupied. And not just mine - two other people also quit from that office, and replacements could never be found. Or someone would start and then quit a month later due to the conditions. I guess the line of people for my spot turned out to be a bit too short ;)
Or, stop suing everyone for making mistakes. Yes there are serious negligence cases, but they're a lot less common than the cases where "negligence" is claimed, but it's just an honest mistake. Americans really need to stop that s**t.
We have to get rid of the phrase "unskilled labour". A janitor needs practical skills far above average (at least a good one does), and the working conditions of courier drivers or fastfood workers require a great deal of stamina and resilience. In any job you can go from beginner to master, working your job better or faster. Even more important, the economy absolutely depends on the jobs we tend to call "unskilled". Usually, in any company, if a middle manager is absent for some days, work continues more or less as usual. If the cleaning lady is absent, you notice the problems after a day or two the latest.
After that, it’s all about trusting yourself. If you believe that some things are just not right, don’t be shy and share your views with others because, chances are, there are people out there just like you. According to Akbari, there is value in dissent. "There’s often truth at the fringes and insight in unpopular perspectives. Greatness comes neither from blindly following nor from knee-jerk rejecting."
"Many of our greatest historical figures held really, really unpopular opinions. They did stuff that made people cringe or even retaliate against them. Going against the grain takes guts. And that courage is admirable, even if we disagree with what they’re saying or doing—but only when executed with integrity from a place of personal honesty," she wrote.
If you don't trust your partner, then you don't trust your own choice of partner.
We switched my kid to a Montessori school because they got to 6th grade and there was no AP option so they were just sitting there bored. It costs a good bit, but I have no reason to think public schools will be better for my kid than they were for me.
I'll probably be downvoted, but this also applies to the African American label. Your distant ancestors were from Africa, you were born in the US therefore you are American. You don't hear people of Asian or African ancestrysaying they are Chinese English or Ghanian Scottish, they are English or Scottish or just plain British.
Well this is obvious, it also applies to many of the "50 years of driving and no accidents" type people... Yes Mrs Miggins, but only because everyone has done such a good job of avoiding your ass
I swear a lot, but it's very very rarely AT someone. I'm not doing it to offend people, it just comes out :P
Jeans and hoodies get washed maybe once a month (or three) unless something has got on them. You don't need to smell like washing powder, and constantly washing everything is bad for you, your clothes, your bank account, and the planet. End of discussion, downvote me all you like I think you know by now I don't give a s**t.
My husband and I have slept in separate rooms for over 10 years (due to his loud snoring keeping me awake). We are very happy together and have no real problems in our relationship - we just both like a decent night sleep. People assume that we aren’t intimate and/or that our whole relationship is falling apart, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
It's not brave it's natural. This if my face. Don't like it. Screw off
Yup. I've been a passenger while the driver just drove around and around waiting for one of the "good" spots to become available. Finally I said, "If we had just parked in one of the far spots right away, we would have been inside the store by now."
Urgh. My ex-husband used to say that all the time especially during arguments. "No one cares" or "no one feel that way". Well, I do. You can't decide on what to care about or feel based on your feelings and use that as the only truth. Blah.
They say money doesn't buy happiness, but I think this is it...this is the happiness money can buy.
I feel like the human approach to "what to do with the waste/recycling of electric vehicles" will (and probably is) treated similar to the problem of what to do with nuclear waste, and unfortunately, our approach seems to be to sweep it under the rug and let future generations figure it out.
With tweens looking and acting like 20-somethings these days, it's just plain safe to ask.
I went to France twice. One time through the Christmas and New Year's holidays and then again in Summer for rock climbing and rappelling. Both times I and the people I was with were all treated like crap by every French national we crossed paths with even though we were always discrete and polite. Had the same experience later in Quebec. It's left a lasting distaste with me for French Culture.
Normalise being left in read! If you don't want to get left on read don't send me long messages don't send me messages at night and don't send statements like what am I supposed to send ok then you will get mad at me
You’re assuming the lying is about the degrees, not the capabilities (which come with them).
Oh yeah, when I was a kid I got yelled at for "backchatting", and standing up for myself never got me anywhere. And then one day it suddenly became "You need to put yourself forward more! Stop being so timid!" and I had no idea how to do that.
Somebody clearly has met vegetables, and possibly some kids, but not at the same time.
Where do you stop though? Football, rugby and cricket pitches are dotted across my city. Should all organised sport be outlawed? Bottom line is people are paying to use that greenspace so it maintains itself. Parkland needs maintaining and with no income stream, that can end up costing the local authority quite a bit. That said, there is a place for parks and everybody should have access to greenspace, it's just how do we do it and keep everybody happy whilst balancing the books?
Homework turns learning into a dreaded chore, or worse, a big fight. And honestly, to the people who say "well just wait til you're an adult"...it's not my fault you hate your life, Don't try to make your kids hate their lives too. Like what the hell is even that?
I used to work with several women who drove huge feckin range rovers. Exactly one of them knew how to a) drive it properly and safely and b) got it in a parking space the first time. She lived on a farm. It was an appropriate vehicle for her. The others? Wanted to make sure their precious six year old Joaquin made it the half mile to school "safely"
I think if it's done correctly you don't notice that it's there - it's the crappy and overdone ones we notice and then judge everyone by that standard. My ex Co-worker used to get it done every 6months or so and you really wouldn't know if she hadn't told you, it was done in a way that stopped her forehead wrinkling up, crows feet etc but still had plenty of movement and expression - if I ever want it done I'll be going where she did. She looked awesome and at most looked like early 30's when she was twenty years older. Making it readily available via people who have short term courses to qualify is what makes it look horrific
It's partly the fault of Hollywood, and the media in general. Most of us are convinced that once we found "the one" they will complete us, compliment us and fill in all the gaps and cracks in our lives, in our hearts. Not sure that is healthy to be honest - it hypes them up to an unrealistic degree in our minds, and makes relationships more "magical" and unobtainable than they might actually be.
I worked with EMI (elderly mentally ill) predominantly Dementia and honestly, I would take cancer over it. Forgetting my friends, family, loved ones and having to be cared for 24/7 is hell. I had to do it for my grandfather too and watching a strong independent man waste to nothing destroyed me.
It happens in Canada, too. I used to work odd hours, sleeping into the early afternoon, then work in the evenings. When maintenance would come by I'd get weird looks and questioned if I was sleeping or why I'm sleeping. Seriously?! Not everyone works 9-5p, and this is my space to rest when I want. Don't need anyone permission.
Former teacher here. There are three reasons you go to school (at least in the US): 1) To learn a base set of knowledge so you don't look stupid in conversations ("I thought Africa was a country!") 2) To learn HOW to learn. Your style of learning is unique to you, and you need to learn what that is. It's probably not going to be spot on with what the education system has to offer, but you'll be learning how to handle things in that type of environment. 3) To learn what you want to learn. My son is getting a PhD in Spanish Language Arts right now. If he hadn't been forced to take a language in middle school he would never have known that he like languages and had an affinity for them. It's not about learning the right structure for an essay, it's about learning how to organize your thoughts so when you go to write that grant proposal, you do it so well you get the grant!
Clearly you’ve never lived near apple or plum trees. Plums make a mess and w/o pesticides every apple will have a hole in it.
I think 90% (minimum!) of TikTok is a blight on human reasoning and intelligence.
you can't expect teachers to create brand new quizzes for every class. There is such a thing as validity of the quizzes and that can't be calculated if you use new ones all the time. If you're trying to be fair, then you need to know that the same score on a test will actually mean the same thing.
I didn't enjoy New York at all - I found it pretty awful to be honest. It's not my thing, Glasgow is big enough for me
Tipping as a requirement is stupid and shitty management if they aren't paying properly, if tipping is mandatory then just change your menu prices...oh wait, that costs you a tiny bit more in tax. Delivery drivers being tipped? That's stupid, again just charge (more) for delivery. I get good service, I tip, but wages are the responsibility of the management, not the customer.
Huh? I don't think you're spoiled. Why do you need to be punished because your mother can't get you to school on time?
My mom used to go through all of my stuff about every 6 months, always when it was at school or camping or what not. She would throw away almost everything. I learned not to bother trying to have anything and if a friend wanted to give me a gift I'd ask if I could keep it at their house, otherwise I wouldn't have it long. It's probably because of this I'm not materialistic at all and the total opposite of a hoarder. My place is very spartan. No my mother isn't spartan. She's not a hoarder but has a house full of stuff and many storage units full of stuff.
Not sure not showering is "shameful and might be harmful", I think that's the whole point they were trying to get across. There's a difference between never showing and assaulting peoples' noses, and not showering daily while still smelling fine.
As adults, our trick or treating is going to the store Nov. 1 and seeing all the big ass bags of candy %50 off 😋
I'm thinking you are meaning asides from true Native Americans, the ones who were here thousands of years before all the rest of us?
Well that means the parents are somehow affording three different places to live
God forbid people use the range of the English language they so desire. You really found a loser, Bored Panda.
There's also emotional work. I'm a homeless shelter manager. It's not physical labor - there's no heavy lifting or anything - but a lot of new hires don't last because the job can be really hard emotionally.
It's my f*****g house, I'll wear what the f**k I want. Don't like it? Don't visit me.
I work in retail & people are losing jobs because of all the self-service machines. Sometimes the people that want serving at a counter just want someone to interact with. I think there should be both options personally
Totally agree with the first part of your post, completely disagree with the second. Trophy hunting does not play the slightest part in sustaining the lion or rhino population, and both are not that big in numbers that the populations would have to be controlled or decimated (, which is the usual reason for hunting in most western countries).
This makes me think of Grandpa Simpson talking about his "walking bird". Every generation has new slang.
There is no way this would be very helpful, how would they get the ages? The only way I can think of is if the kids enter it, and most kids would lie. And the ones that don't lie would be a target for pedos. The idea is just flawed.
I don't think guys get as much flak for not having kids as women do. Hence him thinking it's ridiculous. Once you hit 30 and you haven't had a fertile egg, it's open season from the mommies.
Caring about how other people drink water is childish. She might have a taste sensitivity. I wonder if there were other issues here. Sounds like Op doesn't like this person for how they act, too.
Now there's a right way to eat ice cream?! Eat YOUR ice cream any way you want. Keep your teeth, tongue, and lips away from mine.
I assume this person is a morning person, and doesn't have kids.
Unpopular opinion: almost none of these posts are unpopular opinions or controversial in any way
Yep, kinda signing off most of them. Basic common sense of human decency.
Load More Replies...Unpopular opinion: people are getting so trigger-happy about calling people Karens that it's making more docile people afraid to speak up, especially women. I've never heard the word 'entitled' get thrown around like it has until recently. It's getting to the point that people are saying someone is entitled just because they did something that was a slight inconvenience to them. If that's not entitled, I don't know what is.
I agree. Some people (men and women) act "like a Karen". But nowadays its used mostly to harass women everytime that they are assertive
Load More Replies...Nah I think a lot of these are pretty uncontroversial and some are really arbitrary. I think the person is targeting more conservative people, or just trolling (like the one about juice).
I have an unpopular opinion. I don't think anyone should be able to have pets or babies until they have passed significant psychological testing. I don't care about rich or poor. Some people should never be allowed to have responsibility for other living beings. If I ran the world, I'd be very unpopular, because I would be a terrible dictator and not tolerate most of the s**t that goes down in the world.
Well, we do license for driving but not parenting...

I don't understand why these are considered unpopular opinions I agree with almost everyone
You want something unpopular? I love human much more than I like animals. And pets. It doesn't mean that I dont like animals, or that I will harm them. But if I have to chose between a human an an animal, human will always come first. And I'll strongly judge you if you don't do the same.
Well, the top part of the list were again not unpopular opinions. The extended list was pretty lame. Not sure why I read to the end.
Unopoular opinion: men and women being half naked/in tiny outfits and dancing “sexy” on TikTok shouldn’t be allowed. Want likes and maybe money for looking like that and doing sexy things? Fine. Make an OnlyFans account. TikTok is used by SO many kids and they should not be watching that. I’m so afraid of my bf’s 8 yearold niece seeing a - way too - skinny girl in a bikini dancing sexy and getting thousands of likes, and thinking “that’s what I need to look like. But I don’t, so I wont ever get that many likes and nobody will ever like me!” And the same for young boys, for that matter. Both the “girls should look like that or nothing will do!” or “I don’t have a six-pack like him, so no woman will ever like me!”
Calling out a brand, business or company on something they are doing that is fraud, like for example, randomly adding extra data and thus money onto your internet bill, gets people called as Karens all the time. And these scammers get off scot free. They don't cancel your plan, when they were the ones calling you every week when you weren't a subscriber. They don't cancel or change your plan back to what it was unless you call them five times.
People commend Poland for taking in so many Ukranian refugees - yet African, Indian and literally any non-white students in Ukraine were restrained at the border, some were even beaten and abused. Poland doesn't need to be glorified for doing what is expected of them as human decency.
So this time BP copied an instagram account that copied reddit instead of copying reddit directly
I’m smiling and shaking my head at the fact that the hockey puck post was upvoted the most (of all topics discussed). Does this means that’s it’s the least polarizing of all the polarizing posts? Maybe the one thing we can all stand united on is that if we witness someone catch a ball or hockey puck at a game, we celebrate their win and let them keep it, guilt-free? 😁

Unpopulair opinion: Bubble tea is a waste of space and only popular because people say it's popular.
This s**t is nothing new. The hard reality is that people have been highlighting and pointing out and attempting to make better some of these issues for decades but the younger generation is just into calling them “boomers” and thinking that their revelations are new if unique snd the world needs to bend to their will. I get why customers are pissed office, some have good reason to be pissed off. Hell, how difficult is it to do your job with integrity?? BP is loaded with threads on what doesn’t work, what’s wrong and how things “should be”. It’s a hard lesson to learn that the world works for the ultra wealthy, not the little guy, yes it’s been getting worse, thank the GOP (the party of fear, gaslighting and greed). You want to make a difference, then invest in the work its going to take instead of being a huge part of the problem. Whining and bitching without learning what it takes to change things, just dismissing a whole generation IS A HUGE PART OFTHE PROBLEM!!!
If the gop is so greedy why is it liberals spending all the money?
