16+ Maine Coon Cats That Will Make Your Cat Look Tiny
The Maine Coon cat is one of the largest domesticated breeds of felines. In fact, the title for the “longest cat” in the 2010 Guinness World Records was held by Stewie, who measured 48.5 in (123 cm) from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. Male cats can weigh up to 35 lb (15.9 kg).
The origins of the Maine Coon, however, are shrouded in mystery. Although genetically impossible, one myth holds that the cat is the result of breeding between cats and raccoons; another states that Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France, tried to flee execution her favorite Turkish Angora cats. While she didn't make it to the US, the cats supposedly landed on the shores of Wiscasset, Maine, where they began to breed.

Mine is a bit smaller with same colors, only a year or two old (we got him off the street) and he is already just about bigger that my friends full grown tabby

I think I would be afraid of them... ^^ if they are as quick and agile and moody as regular sized cats.. yikes! :D

Not a Persian, note the elongated snout and the prominent "M" coloring on his forehead. Clearly a Maine Coon.

Nope! No photoshop!!! Those cats are that large, I own one myself. Not everything is photoshopped. :) Maine Coons are just the best!
You're right, but there is always a photoshop whore on every article... They don't even know how to use photoshop, what you can or can't do with it, but still, they see photoshop pictures everywhere.
We have one too & they are that BIG. Ours isn't as large as some but definiately bigger than quite a few. We love our Simon to pieces. So does everybody that stops by. Some people have bring their grandkids over just to see Simon...
try looking things up before saying something you obviously know nothing about
I have a Maine Coon and she is very big and beautiful. Before judging articles with nasty words. Check you education on animals and Maine Coons.

Yeah theu really are that big I had one in 80s and he was huge and he had a mullet oh wait that was my roommate...just kidding no he really was a big cat about 28 pounds or so
