My name is John Ed De Vera, and I’m a multidisciplinary designer, with a penchant for lettering, paper-cutting, and experimenting with different and new art mediums. My philosophy of creativity has so far led to finding new ways to push and innovate my unique art, unafraid of learning new things and twisting them in my own creative way.
Each element of these 3D art illustrations was drawn on a bond paper, transferred on special colored paper and individually cut by hand. The cutouts were then mounted on top of each other, depending on their layout and arrangement, similar to the process of making paper toles. The more protruded the elements were, the more shadows they would create, adding dimension to the whole image.
I chose famous characters for my paper art, scroll down to see if there's your favorite one here.

This Looks amazing! What kind of paper did you use? Also your exacto knife looks a little odd. It's tip is tilted to the side. Is it a special kind of knife or did you modify it?
