Sometimes, it’s the fandom's fault due to their overpraising of them, and other times it’s the music they create, or the lack of it, in some cases. Overrated musicians can come from a lot of different eras and genres. Multiple factors add to the overhyping of the most overrated musicians.
No matter the music genre or the era they come from, overrated artists can come from every corner of the world. Famous musicians like Mozart and DJ Khaled get placed on top of the pyramid as some of the greatest ever. But when you look at their competitors, you might notice that they are mediocre to good. Of course, music is very subjective, so it’s not a wonder why the most overrated singers might be on the list of your favorite artists.

Isn't she a lyricist in the way that boy/girl band members who throw their toys out of the pram and demand to be taken seriously as an 'artiste' get a co-writing credit for contributing words such as 'and', 'I' and 'the' to a song in order to keep them happy? Someone didn't watch that "Canadian Teen Drama". From what I watched in an early interview with Drake, him and a friend produced their music in a van they owned, on their own before they got with a record label. I don't like the music. It's too monotone and unrelatable.

The guy could've been a pretty decent musician (he's got indeed a good singing voice and knows how to play a variety of instruments), but he just got stuck with the 'selling stuff' regardless if it was actually good or not, and it ruined him as a musician.

I feel bad for the child he was. He has a wonderful talent. Wake him from a dead sleep and tell him to sing an E and he'll hit it center of mass every time, I'm sure of it. Because of it, he got groped by such as Jenny McCarthy and everyone was like haha so funny the older lady wants to touch the 15 year old! He is so lucky! when no that's intrusive and gross and traumatizing. This isn't even the s**t that happened to him outside of the view of cameras, or the things that were brushed off because not famous people did them to him. I mean I'd be a d**k too if something I loved doing suddenly meant that I wasn't allowed to have a childhood. Honestly though hold me up and ask me to name just one of his songs and I can't. But every time I've heard him on TVs or whatever just by existing, he's been completely on pitch with great breath control and we love to see that.

An old boss of mine once said they’d never heard anyone sound so soulful. I should have taken that as a warning about that boss (he was a bully and not to be trusted). I LOATHE their voice, it’s nasally and grates on my ears like nails on a blackboard, I can barely understand what they say, and their songs are just terrible. Their latest video however was a hoot, loved it, just not the song.

What's wrong with music being commercial? Whether it's an artist aim to be commercial or not, they want to make a living out of it. Even some bands that are considered "underground" or simply not so broadly known have had some mild commercial success, like Jethro Tull and Yes. As long as the musc is good I couldn't care less on how commercial it is (Queen for instance, excellenet musicianship IMO, and they have always been as commercial as they get).

But Mozart was a performer/composer of his own music, NOT a singer! And, he had people writing lyrics for his song as collaborative work because he focused on the music, nothing wrong with that. Approval of lyrics had to go through him anyway, so they could perfectly match his operas.

Her music has gotten better over time. I recall that one song people said was so boring. I think it was "Go". That one grew on me. But her later work became more innovative. Her earlier work was still creative and original.

Omg their Super Bowl XLV halftime show was TRASH! Fergie sounds horrendous live and so much went wrong 😅 I was embarrassed for them. Their music was annoying to me before, the halftime show just made them that much worse

I was a huge fan in the 10s. Even had pit seats for her Witness 2017 tour in Atlanta. She's not a nice person. She isn't. She went for Taylor calling her washed up in the Swish Swish single and as Taylor is in the apex of her career, poor Ms. Perry is hosting American Idol. Note: I'm not a huge fan of TS either.

"Considered the greatest guitarist in history by many, all of his music sounds the same. Just super fast notes going widdly widdly, it's all classical sauce and sounds like christmas horror music at times which is cool but it never breaks that mold. I would put others like Tosin Abasi and John Petrucci over him. They may not be on the same level as Malmsteen in some areas but it's all about how music hits the ear, and I can only listen to like 2 Malmsteen songs anymore because the rest is going to be just shredding for the sake of shredding. Don't get me wrong, he's amazing, but I can't call him the greatest, even when we're talking skill level. If you see some of these flamenco guitarists shred then you'll see who I'm talking about."

A friend of mine highly recommended him, telling me that I would be blown away by his musicianship. I listened to one of his tracks, and thought, "Pretty flashy. Not bad." So I listened to another track, and thought, "Didn't I just hear this?" 10 seconds into a third track, and I thought, "You must be joking. It's exactly the same!"

His songs can be very similar, but he also has a lot of diversity. Try listening to Far Beyond the Sun and then follow that up with Blue and end it with Crystal Ball. All distinctly different and showcase his range. EDIT: Yngwie is not a singer so not sure why he is on an overrated singers list.

His skill lies in arranging songs and sorting out the business side of things. Brian Tatler from Diamond Head (a band that influenced Metallica when they were starting) said that Lars helped him sort out his publishing rights. He said by doing that he could keep his career rather than having to get a job outside music.

Even among people in the music business, Lars is considered a terrible drummer. But I do agree his band vision and leadership has been instrumental in getting Metallica to where they are at today. EDIT: Lars is not a singer so not sure why he is on an overrated singers list.

I don't like the Majority of them... but do I think that my taste is superior to everyone else's so much so that I think any artist that doesn't fit into my taste shouldn't exist? F**k no. That's the beauty of music. There's a place for everyone. Whether you're the one making the music or you're the one consuming it.... there is something for you or a fan base for you! So don't ever let anyone tell you that you don't "deserve" to be heard or that your taste in music is s****y. It's not.
