Kinda unrelated, but I crocheted my black cat a sweater, and I finished today! He's never worn any sort of clothing and had an interesting reaction. He couldn't walk! He couldn't do anything, really. And for some reason, his balance was way off and he kept falling over. I must admit, it was kinda funny.

Black cats are Not unlucky, they are blessings to us just like regular kitties, they are just able to hide better or stand out, depending where they are & what they are doing. I grew up with an all black Newfoundland (I know, not a cat, just got me thinking about her). I remember she always looked like a black blob in photos, sometimes with eyes, sometimes not. I’m always impressed how wonderful all the pictures of little voids turn out on here! Granted our photos were from the early 90s so maybe cameras have just gotten that much better. Regardless, these cats are gorgeous! The top right is my fav because it looks like a real life cartoon cat. Unbelievably adorable! 🥰 10/10 would pet
Love black cats. All of our cats have always been black, they are beautiful.
I think whoever thought black cats were evil or bad luck was probably afraid of the dark or maybe prejudice. On a related note: My black cat learned to meow whenever I get close... I've stepped on him too often 😅 But that isn't him being bad luck, it's just me having poor night vision!
We have added about 5 black floofs in the past year and they are adorable. Our cats have been orange, grey and tortie and my mother wonders where the black ones came from.
I own a black cat , it's like having your own mini panther , Nala is bossy , very loud when she wants out or food or in somewhere she won't shut up till her demand is met , she's so affectionate ,I don't understand why so many end up in shelters , I'd rehome a black over a tabby
The whole "a black cat crossing your path is bad luck" thing is twisting where it originally came from. Originally, the Romans believed this, but with RATS, not cats. I'm not sure how it got transferred to cats-- but in either case, it's just completely baseless superstition. Our black cat wasn't unlucky, that's for sure.
My little brother was drunk and we had to catch the train home. He asked every single persons in the train station (5 - 10? I can't remember) where the train was going, was this the right train for us etc. He told them "I need to make sure my sister gets home safe".
I do for some games, but not others. It really depends on my mood I guess.
