I am finding that A LOT of Mothers do this. Two reasons, that I can figure, Mom is jealous, of her child, trying to either steal the boyfriend and even other friends, and, as well, wants to know that they can still get 'the young ones'. This parent wants the daughters friends to like her more. Second, is the mother who would do this to prove that BF is not good enough for her, that he cheated and "how sick was he to cheat with Your OWN Mother!" Reminds of a recent story in here about a woman who helped the new gf escape his insane ex. Either way one should double-check such a vague message as it can be the reverse situation of some unfortunate soul being stalked by an unhinged ex. In the previously mentioned case the heroic woman set up a meeting, showed evidence and offered along with her husband a place to stay in.

I think it happens a lot. If the affair partner says, “I’ll tell your wife,” or is pregnant and the cheater is desperate not to lose their partner and family. I’ve seen many stories about husbands killing their affair partner (or their wife to be with the affair partner instead).

About those "hey, girlie" messages: my grandma received a similar call. The woman on the other end told her that she was having a good time with my grandpa (during the call, she meant.) My grandma only asked the woman that what she thought, who was the man beside her? (My grandpa was at home at the time of the call.) Another fiend of mine also received a dm about her husband being unfaithful from a woman. The story didn't hold water. Hubby was pretty much at a different place at the time, when he supposedly romanced the other woman. Very much verifiably. So, these messages on their own aren't reliable.

I was at a friend's birthday party with my now ex boyfriend. He was in the park with his mobile. I was in the gazebo talking to some friends. I approached him and saw he was reading a message. I couldn't read the message, but saw the name of a woman. We went home (he stayed at my place that night) and next morning when he left, I looked for her in his facebook's friends list. She had him tagged in tons of messages where she said she loved him... When I asked him who she was and how long they have been together, he tried to invent an excuse that someone was filling my head with lies, I told him I found her posts... He invented more excuses and I told him I didn't want to see him ever again... This was in 2008. Never even run into him again...

She asked what floor, I said 4th, and she said, "Me too!" Had a little chat and when we got off the elevator we realized we were heading to the same door. I asked her if she was going to see the guy I was going to see and she said, "Yep!" We decided to stand together and knocked on the door. The look on his face when he answered was priceless. I just laughed and left her to deal with whatever was going to happen between them. Didn't see him again. :)
