Twitter user Alex Menn shares pictures of abandoned places from all around the world and the images are hauntingly beautiful, to say the least.

They capture the eerie stillness of forgotten factories, temples, amusement parks, and other locations. Some of the sites appear frozen in time, with old machinery and furniture left behind as if the occupants suddenly vanished and never returned. Others show signs of decay and nature slowly reclaiming the structures.

Through these photos, Alex Menn provides a glimpse into the past, provoking our imagination to complete the stories behind these mysterious areas and buildings, and his account is a must-follow for anyone interested in urban exploration and photography.

Houses found deep in forests fascinate me and make me feel uneased at the same time.

Looks like kudzu. Some counties in South Carolina have a full time crew to keep after the kudzu.

After being a ruin for most of my adult life (I'm almost 36) it's currently being restored. You can find a couple of live streams of the building at https://cazinoconstanta.ro/ if you're curious about its current status. And a bit of trivia, the last major restoration job was done in the 1950s, during the communist regime, when political prisoners were used for the work. The current restoration project uncovered various notes hidden in the walls by the prisoners, such as farewell messages and lists of names of the people who worked there, in the hope that the messages would be found some day and they would not be forgotten.

Not as much as I would like to see Andrew Jackson beneath said pile of s**t, He tried to commit a genocide of native people.

This is in Williamsburg, VA. It was a giant presidents busts museum that it turns out no one wanted to pay to see so they closed down. Let the heads.

After the attraction closed, they were transported to this field. Lincoln, ironically enough, was dropped during transport and now has a hole in his head.

Reminds me of Fallen Monument park in Russia. It's where all the old communist era statues went after the USSR fell. It's in Goldeneye.

You can use AI and bring them to life. Then they can be real talking heads.

I lived in Williamsburg when that park was open and never even thought of going. There were so many more diverting attractions there. When my family and friends came to visit, this one didn't even make the list. You could see some of the heads from the road on the way to Water Country and they were conversation-worthy, but not enough to pay money for.

On first glance I thought the one middle left was Elvis, my bad. In my defense, I'm a naturalized American but I do recognize George Washington and Lincoln.

It is 1 meter deep and not from viking times, that rock is also fake, made of glasfiber. It is a abandoned viking theme park of some sort, in Iceland. There are more buildings, all in ruins. Sorry.
