IMO the whole point of feminism is equality. I get that some of these people are trying to make a "see how you like it" point, but doing stuff like "only talking to the woman and not the man" or "always assuming the bad driver is a man" is just as toxic. However, the ones about making sure the father is taking care of the child as well is reasonable (especially the one about making sure the dad is aware of his kids' allergies; what if the mom isn't available to take care of the kid?)

This may be due to parents' (somewhat valid) complaining that "why wasn't my child invited when practically all of the class was". I thought the general rule of thumb was that if you're handing out invites at school you invite the whole class, or if all but one or two students are invited then invite everyone. Unless those one or two students are a bully to the kid, then it seems rude to invite everyone but a couple kids from the class.

yeah, but OP's point was saying that the "here's a toy that spies on you and tells santa when you're misbehaving" (as well as the whole "Santa is always watching" thing) used as a way to force kids to behave is wrong. It just gets the kids to be more secretive about what they're doing. But just hiding the elves + goodies seems like a really fun tradition!

Like all things, it should be done in moderation. Don't show your children movies with a huge amount of scary stuff or violence in them (ex. every single parent that takes their 3 year old to a horror movie then complains when the kid gets upset), but also don't try to hide or protect them from anything potentially dangerous. As another post above said, this is how you get kids that have a panic attack at anything unknown because "what if it's dangerous?"

That’s ridiculous to me. If your pet is fat you need to make some changes. My dog was fat and no doctor told me until he was like 9 years old (he wasn’t obese just larger than wanted) and I got him down to a healthy weight and he’s been there since (he’s 16 now).

Behold the cake XD My dad was working for IBM at that point in my life and was rarely home, so he had NO idea what my mom had gotten written on the cake or else he would have stopped it (or scraped off the words at least.) He was SO píssed at my mom for the cake that he took a picture of it so she couldn't claim that it never happened (something she did often after her cruelties.) Explanation: So our HUGE family Christmas gathering (grandparents, great aunts and uncles, their kids, the grandkids, et al) always ended in a chaos of presents and stocking loot all over my grandparent's house. So my Grandma started pre-labeling a bunch of large paper grocery bags with everyone's name that she'd hand out at the beginning to store gifts. I'm pretty sure it was my trickster Uncle's idea to do the bag on the head thing the first time. With our names upside down in sharpie at the bottom. And we just kept doing it. We'd do one group photo completely serene and normal. Next picture, bizarre and slightly unhinged. This pretty much encapsulates my fam.
