explanation: a couple years ago there was a girl who got a nasa internship but used profanity to announce it. she then unknowingly replied to a nasa engineer with more profanity which caused her to lose her internship. OP is saying that they don't want to make the same mistake she did.

The artist is from Singapore, and like Fran said, english (like other languages) does have homonyms. However, the Japanese pronounciation does make it sound like live (something in person), though i dont know about the Chinese pronunciation.

Im thinking they dont know there's two pronunciations for live. Theres a lot of English words like that...look the same, or very similar, sometimes mean very similar things or totally different, while some are said the same and other have diffences like bread and bred, live and l•i•ve and dinner and diner. As a native English speaker who's been speakin over 30yrs, sometimes I say a proper sentence and think *we really decided this was okay because it sounds absolutely ridiculous. I wouldnt want to learn this is adulthood* im a logical thinker...theres no logic to our language sometimes?! No that word doesn't make sense...use it anyway and pretend. Especially when you factor in our accents and dialect.

IMO the whole point of feminism is equality. I get that some of these people are trying to make a "see how you like it" point, but doing stuff like "only talking to the woman and not the man" or "always assuming the bad driver is a man" is just as toxic. However, the ones about making sure the father is taking care of the child as well is reasonable (especially the one about making sure the dad is aware of his kids' allergies; what if the mom isn't available to take care of the kid?)

Inviting your child's entire class to their birthday party. Why on earth would you invite kids that your child doesn't get along with or doesn't interact with? When I grew up in the 1980s we generally invited up to a dozen of our best friends to a party and everyone was fine about it. In those days we were quite content with party games in the front room or the garden followed by a cold buffet tea and cake. Nowadays it has become a competition to see who can have the most biggest party at the most extravagent venue.

As a person who didn't have a phone when everyone else did from middle school onwards, it can stunt their social life. It wasn't the only thing holding me back, but being unable to text or talk to friends outside of school in this day and age makes it very hard to have and keep friends, from my experience. It's really unfortunate. I think a reasonably moderated phone at a certain age is what would work best with the current world, and as the child gets older, the restrictions slowly ease as they gain more responsibility and independence. And no social media for younger kids.

Explanation: So our HUGE family Christmas gathering (grandparents, great aunts and uncles, their kids, the grandkids, et al) always ended in a chaos of presents and stocking loot all over my grandparent's house. So my Grandma started pre-labeling a bunch of large paper grocery bags with everyone's name that she'd hand out at the beginning to store gifts. I'm pretty sure it was my trickster Uncle's idea to do the bag on the head thing the first time. With our names upside down in sharpie at the bottom. And we just kept doing it. We'd do one group photo completely serene and normal. Next picture, bizarre and slightly unhinged. This pretty much encapsulates my fam.
